Chereads / The Elf Life / Chapter 21 - Klotic

Chapter 21 - Klotic

"What is it, Jacob?" Marcus says.

"Nothing, I had felt weary for a moment...." Jacob says.

"Well, as I was explaining, Al Krelin's body will be in the 3rd city of Soltica." I say.

"Lucas must come along for cooperations, am I correct?" Julio says.

"You are correct, Julio." I nod. "The king will be who Lucas speaks to. I must speak with Klotic."

Lucas then enters the dorm and stand in confusion. The others stare at what he is holding.

"Is there somethjnf the matter?" Lucas asks.

Julio quickly notices and walks over to Lucas.

"These are the magic orbs I requested!" Julio smiles.

"Ah yes, Julio." Lucas says. "What is their primary usage?"

"To heal the wounded." Julio says. "Is there something wrong with the orbs?"

"Oh, no." Lucas gives the orbs. "There is nothing wrong with them."

"Very well then, I will give you all your orbs once I complete the refinement process." Julio smiles. "In the meantime, I suggest you all rest or prepare for our journey."

The rest of us nod in response as Julio goes along to his room. I look towards Lucas and sigh as I softly smile. Marcus looks at me staring in awe and looks to Jacob.

"Why does Adam look that way?" Marcus whispers.

Jacob looks towards the both of us. "It may be that they are in love?"

I hear this and my attention is shockingly disturbed. "That is not true, Jacob." I say nervously.

"Adam and I are childhood friends." Lucas smiles. "The two of us are very close."

"I see." Marcus stuffs food in his face.

The three of us sigh and I see Jack tip to the side. His body almost fell over before he caught himself. Marcus looks to Jacob and stops eating.

"Jacob, you seem unwell." Marcus says.

"I am alright, there is no need to worry." Jacob says. "I will be in my room resting until we leave."

We watch Jacob slowly walk away and closing his door. Then looking back at each other, Marcus says the obvious.

"Jacob must be ill." Marcus says.

"Yes, Marcus, we all have noticed that now." Lucas says. "Julio must have noticed this, unless he requested the orbs for another cause."

"Shall I speak with him?" I stand.

"No, I suggest we inquire Julio to examine Jacob." Lucas stops me. "I believe this may have magic connected to it. Jacob is in the bloodline of cursed royalty."

"Why was his bloodline cursed?" I ask.

"Ah, in history of the Flairen bloodline," Marcus starts. "Their third king killed a god."

"Which was 12 generations ago." Lucas sighs. "Not one individual has been able to lift this curse from the royal bloodline."

"How tragic…" I say. "I will find a way to lift the curse."

Lucas and Marcus look to each other, then to me.

"No." Lucas says.

"Absolutely not." Marcus says.

"What could possibly be the matter?" I ask.

Lucas walks over to me and sits to my side. Marcus does this as well.

"If any being who uses magic attempts to release a curse…" Marcus starts.

"Then the caster will be marked of the curse." Lucas finishes.

"I see now…" I sigh. "I shall find a 'different' way then."

Lucas looks surprised and places his hands together. "We will see what you figure out. You may request assistance from Julio along the way."

"This could be the greatest history known to all royals!" Marcus says.

"With a great attempt come a great and powerful being, Adam." Lucas softly smiles. "I trust in your power."

We leave ourselves to rest and continue packing as we ready to leave for the forest.

"Julio, do you have the orbs?" Lucas asks.

"Yes, Lucas." Julio responds. "Jacob may need a reminder for his medication."

"Ah yes, I will remind him." Marcus gladly volunteers and yells to his room. "Jacob, have you taken your medications yet?"

Jacob peeks out his door and lightly shakes his head. Marcus looks through his luggage of food and takes out the medication. Different types of pastries that were made with a healing spell.

Marcus had grabbed one of the smaller pastries and gave it to Jacob. He takes the food and eats it. We then see Jacob's pale skin turn back to it's original color.

"I feel much better, I thank you, Julio." Jacob says. "I do apologize for ignoring the need of assistance."

"I understand your concerns for others Jacob." I say. "You understand this as well, do you not?"

Jacob turns to look away. I look to the others and see Marcus shrug his shoulders as he eats a snack.

"Off we go then." Lucas says. "Gather all your supplies and head to the front office."

The five finally get started on heading out. They have to go to the front in order to properly have paperwork done for temporary absence.

"We wish you come back safely my princes and lords." The office attendant says.

The boys finally leave the academy to walk into the forest behind the building. Julio stops walking once they're at the edge of entering the forest. The others and I look confused at Julio's shaking.

"Have you not heard?" Julio says.

"Heard what?" I say.

"That there have been many storms in the 4th forest of Soltica." Julio says.

"You are informing us of this now???" Lucas sighs.

"I apologize…." Julio looks away. "I had guessed you all knew."

"We will go in and come out safely." I say. "I sense something good will come of it."

"I see…" Julio says. "I…. will try my best to keep my mouth shut."

I nod and we continue into the forest. There were many sounds from creatures all around. For a little while there was silence and a loud roar. The five of us hear this and stay still. Then a storm begins to appear next to us.

"Take cover!" Julio raises his arms. "Behind me everyone! 'Create a barrier of light that is wielded with might!' I will protect us for the time being!"

We scurry behind Julio and wait while the storm calms down. I look around and see small streaks of lightning.

"I see light…?" Jacob says. "What could it be?"

"Food?" Marcus says.

We all look at him disappointed and bring our attention towards the storm that vanished. Julio dispersed the shield. I then quickly noticed something nearby that was giving off a murderous intent.

"Julio, wait-" I reacted too late.

In an instant, once Julio let his guard down, he had a blade to his throat. Not a single word nor movement was made. There was a hooded and masked man who had Julio hostage ready to kill.

"Who is in charge here?" They ask.

I raise my hand and in the blink of an eye I see them appear in front of me. Lucas quickly reaches for his sword. Stopping him, I calmly shake my head. He backs away in acceptance.

"Tell me, who are you?" They ask. "Why are you in the territory of the Immortal Moon Elf?"

"I am Adam Silvia, the reincarnation of Al Krelin." I say.

For a moment there was silence. Then instantly I was being held up my the collar. Then they make a form of sparking light in their opposite hand.

"The Immortal Moon Elf cannot die!" They yell. "If you are to tell me that you are my master, then prove it."

I point to my arm and is then let go. They wait as I pull up my long sleeves. This shows my arm that has the marks of Al Krelin indebted into it. Then they stop and fall to the floor. In that moment I could feel sorrow emitting from them.

"I am… Klotic…." He removes his hood and mask. "What has happened to my master?"

"Klotic…?" I say. "You were his assistant. His body had been taken by ones from the dark territory."

"The dark territory will pay for this…" Klotic says. "We must go and fetch him…. when you are stronger."

"There is no time for training." Lucas says. "We must be in the 3rd city within a week."

"I will take you there." Klotic says. "I must ask, why in the first city he was reborn in?"

"It was said by Flotic that Al Krelin's body will be traded with King Greffosh." I say. "In order to help Al Krelin return I must see his body and retrieve his soul."

"I see, the first reformation of a discerned immortal being…" Klotic stands. "It may take a while but I will transport you to the 3rd city with my skill 'Speed of the Gods.'"
