I try to walk around the six trees and wonder why they grew this way. 'Every tree somehow looks the exact same, and they have some sort of markings. I really should've asked to be able to read anything.' Then out of nowhere, the markings seem to make some sense looking at them.
"The summons of heroes... exploration of adventurers." I mumble going to each tree. "The bringing of mages... powerful beings of life. Mortals of all... immortals to gods."
I scratch my head and look around; I can't seem to see much of anything at the moment. Although something did move in the distance. 'Could it be like a little furry animal? Oh, maybe I can't judge by movement, it might be something big.'. I quickly jog over to see what it is. It's just an injured white bunny that's curling up and its eyes are filled with fear. It can't move or stand to see a new day. Looking at all directions, I reassure my somewhat safety and pick up the poor thing. Then I hear something spinning in the air that's getting closer to me. It's going really fast; I look around and I can't seem to see it. So, I just run behind a tree with markings. It's wasting enough time not knowing where it's coming from. I hear a loud thud that came from the other side, I slightly jumped. The bunny looked like it needed treatment right away, so I started running again. I looked for anything that could seem possible to use as a bandage to cover the blood. So many weird looking plants and things were all around me. There was this one plant that looked really beautiful and shined bright with a healthy feeling to it. I took one of its really long leaves and gently wrapped it around the bunny. Just a few seconds after I got done with helping it, I hear distant footsteps. The steps just get faster and faster. 'That doesn't sound good... I need to go back to those trees, but it won't be easy.'. I try to keep the white bunny safe tucked in my arms as I run back. Unfortunately, I don't get so lucky with my encounter. I almost get excited because it's an elf since I see their ears under a hood, but not so excited with the arrow they have pointing at me. 'Oh no...'. Slowly moving, I turn the direction to the trees and start running again. I finally realized my unfortunate decision. 'Wait... injured animal... elf hunter trying to kill me... did I just take their lunch?!' Running even faster I get to the trees, and I hide behind one. 'Please don't see me, please don't see me!' I hear the footsteps stopping and stepping cautiously behind the tree. I look down to see the bunny in my arms, breathing slow with its eyes shut. 'Wait this bunny is asleep and it was the source of the situation?!'. Slowly looking around the tree I quickly sigh and turn back just to see that it's not all good. The hooded elf pins me to the tree, they don't look happy. Then they talk in some weird language that comes out of them.
"Klesh irr flectol..." They say.
"Huh...?" I shrivel.
"Who are you?" Finally understanding them. "Why did you steal my food?"
It was a guy's voice, and he was really pissed at me. 'What do I say, what do I say?'
"I, uh." I say. "This bunny was helpless; I couldn't bear to see it get killed."
"What are you, some lowlife elf?" He says. "That was my lunch you took off its death bed!"
"I just got here..." I say. "I'm not familiar with anything but these trees I was reading."
"You're a new being?" He backs away. "I won't let you have a chance in this world!"
He pulls out a knife and dashes right for me, but I freeze up for a moment. Some sort of barrier builds up and reflects his strike, he bounces off and lands his butt on the ground. 'I guess being immortal is great, for situations like this.'. I take my chances and run for it; this guy keeps running after me. 'Gosh darn it, where's a whole city when you need one?!'. I keep running until I see something, just a building or two maybe. Instead, I'm lucky enough to see a whole city over the hill I've been running up.
"Get back here you rotten being!" The guy yells. "You will not live on my watch!"
"I'm sorry for taking your lunch and all but you're overreacting man!" I yell back. "I don't get why me trying to be nice here is a problem either!"
I hear the man's footsteps get slower after what I say, but I keep running to the city gates. I pause and hide someplace to check on my bunny. It seems to be breathing much better than it was before I put that plant on it. 'Aw, I never had any pets in my past life, but this little one could do.'. I have a weird feeling before continuing to the gates, my ears felt like they got smaller. Then oddly, my earring hoop feels slightly heavier, I touch them, and they definitely switched sizes. 'I think it's telling me to act human while I go inside.'.
"Okay buddy, let's get you to an actual herbalist." I say walking.
The two guards at the gate see me and one walks up to me before I can get in.
"Who are you?" The guard asks.
'Shoot, I didn't actually think i'd have to talk… It's weird but I'll just have to go with the flow here. I have a name, right? Al Krelin, easy.'.
"I am Al Krelin." I respond.
"State your purpose in the 3rd City of Soltica, Al Krelin." The guard asks.
"I came across this injured bunny, I was hoping to find an herbalist to treat it properly." I respond.
"You may enter, any suspicious activity will have you banned until proven otherwise." The guard walks back to his post.
'Phew, that was close...'. I enter the gates to the large city. So many different types of people are here. Humans, elves, fairies, mages, and all sorts of beings included in jobs too. 'This place looks awesome! I need to focus on the bunny first.' I try asking people around me and they all keep saying that I'll see the sign to know, but I can't see much. 'This place is a bit crowded; how many people are in here?'
"5,374." A voice echoes in my head.
'Oh okay... wait who said that?!' The voice in my head sounded like a guy, but he has the same tone as Flotic had.
"I am your personal guidance, Klotic." Klotic responds. "Recently you have unlocked skill, herbalist, and skill, trust. Current skill count, 3."
'Huh, that makes sense why Flotic didn't join me. I didn't know I could have my own buddy in my head. Also didn't know the skill count, if I have the herbalist skill how can I improve?'
"You can advance this skill as you gather more herbs, you currently have 5 numbing leaves." Klotic responds. "Would you like to know the location of the nearest herbalist?"
'Absolutely.' I'm told the way to the herbalist, and I rush over. 'It does have a big sign on it, but it wasn't very close to see.'. I walk in and I am welcomed by an elf girl that sees my bunny and quickly takes it and pulls me into a room.
"Where did you find it?" She asks, placing the bunny down on the table.
"I found it out in the fields, it was being hunted." I respond.
"I have a guess you were chased." She says. "You humans don't know how to take care of animals."
"I..." I mumble.
"How did her bleeding stop?" She asks.
"I used numbing leaves of a plant I found when as I was chased." I respond.
The girl pauses for a second and stares at me in disbelief. 'What's up with her? Is it not a common plant or something?'
"Correct this is known as a very rare and legendary plant to come across," Klotic says.
"Name, hayver, this is a plant with 7 different healing properties in each leaf."
'Oh, makes sense now. I should go back there after getting things I need here.' I wait for the girl to finish applying the medicine and wrapping up the wound. She holds her hand out to me telling me to give her something.
"Are you going to pay or leave the bunny in our care?" She asks.
"I um," I say. "I don't have money right now."
"What about your silly story on the numbing leaves?" She asks. "How many did you keep? I'll trade and let you keep the bunny at no other cost."
'Should I give her all I have? How much would these cost anyway?'
"The normal cost of one individual hayver plant leaf is known as 1 million dollars, in your old world." Klotic responds. "There is bronze, silver, and gold coins in this world, it would be 1 thousand gold coins each leaf."
'What in the world?! If I have that much, I need to keep it safe and hidden, I'll have conditions set.'.
"I have 5 leaves, all for 5 thousand gold coins." I say taking them out. "But there must be conditions met."
"Anything for those godly leaves." She smiles.
"I will need a bag with all materials for travel and a front pouch for my bunny." I say. "Thus, with all of that, you can have more leaves to trade in the future."
"Deal." She grabs the leaves. "I will bring out the bag and pouch for you right away."
"Thank you." I say looking at the bunny.
