The six swords flew towards Lu WenXian at high speed.
He raised his sword and blocked the incoming attacks.
Cheng Xiu closed her eyes and concentrated.
She imagined the six swords, their red glossed handle, the cool touch of its metallic surface and its weight against her hands.
She imagined thin threads of Qi attached to the swords from her Qi Centre.
Cheng Xiu felt the swords' presence in her mind.
Through the Qi emitted by the sword clones, Cheng Xiu was able to create a mental image of Lu WenXian in her mind. The shadowed image moved when he moved.
It jumped when he jumped.
This was a technique that the player could use if they had six or more Carp Sword copies activated at the same time.
It wasn't as draining as the Sword Shield that she erected before but it took twice the amount of concentration than a usual sword fight.
But she only had one more skill and she didn't want to use that skill unless it was actually necessary.
There was also the fact that she was not sure she would be able to execute the skill as well as the Ghost Flame.
It was another skill that she had seen being used in Primordials Online but she had never used it herself unlike with the Ghost Flame.
Cheng Xiu let her mind settle and focused on the six swords in her mind.
She lifted her hands and moved them to the side, in a blocking gesture.
One of the cloned swords flew towards Lu WenXian's neck sideways.
Lu WenXian raised his sword in an arc and pushed the sword away.
Cheng Xiu bent her knees and created a crescent with her arms, the tips of her fingers straightened to imitate a sword.
The sword on the right lowered to the ground and raised upwards in an arc, nearly cutting Lu WenXian in half.
It was only his speed that allowed him to step back in time to avoid certain death.
His eyes fell on the close eyed figure of Cheng Xiu.
She raise her hand and imitated a stabbing gesture.
The sword in the left corner stabbed Lu WenXian in the shoulder.
Blood splattered to the ground.
Lu WenXian pursed his lips in distaste. He would never admit it out loud but he had looked down on the girl before him. After all, no matter how spectacular the Rookie was she was a Rookie. Someone who knew very little about the game. There was at least a 20 level difference between the two of them. He shouldn't be so weak against her.
To him Lotus' loss was because her skills were limited.
But now, after using the Heavenly Fires and all the wind skills that he had at Level 10, he was losing badly to the girl.
As a matter of fact, he was losing worse than Lotus did.
Lotus had really hurt the girl and the only reason she had won was because she found a weakness at the last minute. She had hurt SelaXiu a lot more, cornered her a lot more, and made her desperate.
But he couldn't to that to her. Just by getting a better sword and a rather powerful skill, SelaXiu was the one with the advantage in their match.
A voice echoed in his mind. 'You will always find people who are better than you at something. There is no reason to be so obsessed over it.'
Lu WenXian stilled.
One of the cloned swords dashed towards him, thrusting at his midriff.
Lu WenXian twisted his body away at the last moment.
He knew that voice very well. "A'Xing."
'Nobody can here me,' WenXing's voice came to him. 'You better just listen, brother.'
Lu WenXian gave a subtle nod.
'Quit.'
"What?"
Cheng Xiu spun around gracefully, the bellowing sleeves of her robes fluttering in the wind as she did so.
At that moment she looked like a true Cultivator.
All six of the sword clones spun around, imitating her movements.
Lu WenXian jumped back twice to get out of their cutting range.
'You can't win against her.'
"Such little faith in me," Lu WenXian muttered.
'It's not about faith. You are weak, and she is more capable. Quit if you want to give your friends an advantage.'
Lu WenXian parried to the right.
"What do you mean?" he asked in a whisper.
'When she kills you, the arena will give her more rewards. If you want to give your friends a chance to win, then quit now. Quitting will not give her any obvious advantage, except experience.'
"You are underestimating me. Your brother is more capable than you realise."
'I was trying to help our little sister out but if you want to be a fool then go ahead.'
"Let me show you what I am made of!" Lu WenXian screamed and raised his sword high.
He accelerated towards Cheng Xiu.
In the far distance, where the Immortals and San Zhe stood.
"Is it me," Matchstick said in confusion. "Or is brother WenXian talking to himself?"
"He's lost it!" Long Hei said with a laugh. "He must have lost his brain or something when that SelaXiu used that black flame to eat his!"
WuQi glared at him. "Why do you sound so happy about it!"
Long Hei backed away. He grabbed San Zhe by the elbow and pulled the boy in front of him, using him as a shield against any possible attack.
San Zhe looked long suffering at the others.
"It's not your delusion," Frost said to Matchstick. "He was talking to someone. Considering we couldn't hear what was said, some kind of a barrier item was used to mute the sound around him."
"Where did Lu WenXian get that!" Star Phoenix asked. "He never shares any of the good stuff with us. Stinky bastard."
WuQi looked at the gray robed man with murder in her eyes.
Star Phoenix backed away from her. "I meant he is not that kind…I meant I'm too demanding!"
WuQi went back to staring at Lu WenXian.
Star Phoenix sighed in relief.
"I wonder what he was talking about," Matchstick said.
"Or who," Crow said to him.
"Yeah, or that."
