Oh yes, if I'm not mistaken, the other one is the boy who lives in Eddo's house. His name is... Boban... Ah yes, Boban. Mai can finally remember.
Hmm, so Aaron and Riven are cousins, why aren't they similar?
"Hi... I'm Riven, guitarist for The Gray Whale." Riven said by extending his hand and Mai greeted him.
"Oh, so Riven and Aaron are cousins huh? Why don't they look alike?" Ivani said. Mai's curiosity was represented by Ivani's question.
"Why? Handsome huh?" Riven said with an eyebrow raised.
Thomas let out a laugh. Riven glared, while Ivani rolled her eyes lazily.
"I'm sure Aaron's fans are more than yours," said Thomas mockingly.
Riven chuckled, while Ivani was trying hard not to laugh.
"He only wins Caucasians," he said.
"But don't get me wrong . . . he's not as sweet and calm as he looks." He said again.
"I will tell Aaron, haha! His cousin is being abused." Thomas said with a mischievous grin.
"Ah, you snitch! Surprisingly, girls are so easily attracted to my cousin's angelic look, I didn't know it was real----" Riven said with a pause.
"Oh so you like to say that behind my back," said Aaron suddenly.
Aaron suddenly appeared from behind the door. Riven was shocked. Thomas and Ivani laughed a little. While Mai looked back at the Caucasian man without blinking. Aaron closed the door behind him and walked over to his cousin.
"What I'm talking about is the truth. You're even worse than me or Boban," Riven said without feeling guilty.
Aaron folded his arms, his eyes glared at his cousin, Thomas chuckled softly while the two girls there looked confused, not understanding at all what was being said. It seemed that only the three men understood.
"What are you doing here? Go back to the post. You too, huh." Aaron said, he chose not to respond to Riven's words just now.
"Leave the patient alone. She needs rest," he ordered again.
"Yes, Doc ..." said Riven, then took Ivani and Thomas out.
Only Mai and Aaron were left in the room. Mai immediately remembered Thomas' story about her hugging Aaron and passing out in his arms, then Aaron carried her to the clinic. Her face immediately turned red like a boiled crab.
"Loh, what are you doing? Why is your face red? It hurts again?" Aaron said by coming closer and touching Mai's forehead. He thought Mai had a fever but her temperature was normal.
Mai was getting more and more nervous when the hand touched her skin. Mai closed her eyes, trying to control her strange heartbeat. Why is this?
"No...it's okay, Ron," Mai said when Aaron had lowered his hand again.
"I'm sorry I bothered you, I'm sorry. I didn't realize it at the time. I'm sorry." Said Mai by cupping her hands, she felt very embarrassed and regretted her behavior.
Aaron looked at her confused and then realized. He must have meant when the girl suddenly hugged him hysterically earlier. Immediately his face turned red. Aaron chuckled. He was amused. This girl... Plain.
"It's ok. I understand." Aaron said, then smiled at her.
"May I ask you something?" he asked, his brown eyes staring at Mai's black eyes, making Mai lower her gaze again. The look in his eyes made her uncomfortable and Mai didn't understand why.
"About your hemophobia and the panic attacks? How long has it been going on?" said Aaron.
Mai immediately raised her head, looking back at the man in front of her. This man is very frank. They had just met and he had already asked a matter which she thought was very personal. Mai never shared her past story with anyone. Only her family and best friends know.
"Ah, sorry. I know this is a very personal thing but you will have three days of surveillance here and I'm part of the event committee. This is just in case another attack happens." said Aaron.
Mai was silent, she looked down again and tightly gripped her hand. Should she tell? She didn't even really remember.
"It's okay if you don't want to talk. Just tell me if you're okay. I'll help you," he said again.
"I don't know..." said Mai.
"I think it's been a long time. Maybe when I was little. I don't remember my childhood." Said Mai. The girl was silent for a moment.
"But I always have bad dreams, the same dreams. But not every day, sometimes the dream appears, like last night. I think it's related because in my dream I saw someone covered in blood in front of me and I felt really scared." Said Mai. Oh my goodness, what did she do, why did she even talk like this.
Mai is a closed type, even to her parents and friends, she always considers a lot before opening up. Sometimes Mai even hides her feelings to please others. Sometimes she tells people she just met, what's on her mind. She was even honest. Now Aaron would find it odd, just like the others.
"Have you been traumatized before?" said Aaron.
There are several causes of hemophobia such as genetic or traumatic factors. Aaron felt that what Mai experienced was the last one because the girl said strange words before fainting in his arms. The girl repeatedly apologized, said 'don't die', and now she's talking about her dream.
Dream of someone covered in blood... Wow... That's a nightmare. Dreams related to hemophobia.
"Trauma?" Said Mai, she even asked back.
"Have I been traumatized?" She asked again. Her expression was confused.
"Do you think it wasn't a dream?" Said Mai, her face was immediately pale.
Aaron shrugged.
"I think you should know best," said Aaron.
"Impossible ..," said Mai with a gasp.
Those dreams, those dreams do look very real. It wasn't like a dream. It was like a memory she didn't want to remember. Her heart was beating fast again, she felt scared, trembled, her breath also started to suffocate again. The thought that the nightmare was made it even more terrifying. That means she has harmed people. Previously she only dreamed until the child fell but earlier she saw herself and the child in the hospital, the child was lying weak. That kid... Not dead right? Her mind is frantic.
"Mai... Are you okay?" Aaron said, he looked worried.
"take a deep breath. it's gonna be okay." Said Aaron again.
Mai tried to take deep breaths, filling her lungs with as much oxygen as possible.
"Don't... Don't leave me," she said breathlessly.
"I won't go anywhere. I'll be here until you calm down," said Aaron.
Stupid. He shouldn't have asked any questions. This girl seems to have a pretty heavy trauma. Mai says it happened since she was little. What happened? Who did Mai see covered in blood? Oh, wait why is he so curious like this? This is none of his business.
"Sorry... I won't ask again. You should rest." said Aaron.
-----
Mai feels awkward. She tried to sleep, but she couldn't. How can she rest when the situation is like this, being in the same room alone with a man. Why would she be able to say 'don't leave me to a man she just met. The words sounded ambiguous, she only realized it now.
Mai also glanced at the man who was sitting relaxed not far from her. Aaron was busy with his cellphone, she doesn't know what he was doing. Mai continued to pay attention to Aaron, for some reason Mai felt more and more familiar with the man, especially his eyes, reminding her of someone. Someone who scares her. A moment ago she had shuddered at the sight of Aaron but after talking and getting to know him, Aaron looked friendly. He wasn't scary at all but Mai still felt that odd feeling.
The ringing of the phone ringing startled Mai from her daydream. It was Aaron's cell phone, the man quickly picked it up.
"What? There? Now? I'm taking care of patients at the clinic," he said. Then...
"Yeah... Yeah... I'll be there." Aaron said as he hung up his phone.
The man took a breath and glanced at Mai. Mai immediately turned her face away, ashamed of herself.
Maybe Aaron realized that Mai had been watching him for a long time.
"Is it okay if I leave you for a bit? I have some business to attend to. Or I can call your friend." said Aaron.
"No need. I'm all right." Said Mai.
"Okay... I won't belong." Aaron said uncertainly.
This girl said it was okay but her face still looked pale. Aaron thought that he would just call Thomas or Ivani here, he has a duty as the Health Section, he can't stay with Mai here for long.
"Oh, wait!" Mai said she called him when Aaron was about to open the door
"Can I just join ospek? I'm strong. I... I don't want to be alone here." Said Mai.
Participating in ospek activities, doing silly things, and getting scolded by seniors is still better than being alone and remembering terrible things that she doesn't want to remember.
"Sure, but don't push yourself, okay?" Aaron said, he went back to the girl and helped her get off the bed.
"Watch your step. Can you walk?" said Aaron.
Mai nodded. She would drag her feet if necessary. Whatever comes out of this clinic.
