Keya's P.O.V
We make it to Grammys' house and while her and Manny go to get the transit van. I help my Stinkers get their stuff packed for the trip. "Keya, how long are we gonna be there?" My little sister, Fatt asks curiously while holding on to her, two 2ft tall ragdolls named Celie & Nettie. Named after the two sisters from the movie, The Color Purple. It's one of Grammys' favorite movies of all time. Along with Wolf, with Jack Nicholson and Michelle Pfeiffer. Forrest Gump, Total Recall, True Lies and What's Love Gotta Do With It.
We have watched those movies sooo many times over OMG! And she has it on VHS so that means if she wants to watch it again, and she usually does. We have to get up and rewind it back to the beginning, ugh. Anyway, "We'll be coming back Saturday afternoon. Because Manny and I have somewhere to go afterward. But are y'all excited? I know I am." We've never really been anywhere before and I'm really looking forward to having some fun. Especially after a super stressful school year and this crazy ass weekend.
"YEAH!" They all yell excitedly I laugh and we get to packing up everything. We cleaned up the house and washed the clothes too. Grammy says, 'It's always best to come home to a clean house. Who wants to go away on a trip and come back to a dirty ass house?' After we were done we played on Sega Channel for a little bit. My aunts and uncles along with their partners and children arrived short after. Manny and Grammy get back with the van and we pack everything inside.
Grammy drives the van with all of my siblings inside. Manny and Me ride in his car while leading the way to Old Country Buffet at the Brickyard Mall. We get there around 10 a.m. and since it was 30 of us. We got tables in one of the special rooms for large parties. We all are eating having a good time and talking about the vacation & everything. Everyone is super excited about the trip. When all of a sudden Manny looks at me some type of way, stands up and taps his glass with a fork getting everyone's attention.
"Hey everyone, I know that y'all are excited about this vacation. But I just want to make this trip a little bit more special. I am paying for everything!" One of my aunts' asks looking stunned, "Whatchu mean everything?" Several more members of my family looked at Manny shocked as well, asking similar questions. He smiles and shrugs, "Like I said, I'm paying for everything. The hotel, 6 Flags, all of the shopping, everything. Real talk I got y'all."
He chuckles lightly looking at all of their shocked faces. One of my aunts' exclaim stunned, "Damn gurl he got it like that!?" I nod happily at her, hell I was just as stunned as she was and she whispers to me across the table, "Are you sure he ain't got no single male family members?" I shake my head, what's weird is she's not even single, jeez damn gold digger. "No he doesn't sorry." I tell her pointedly, she pouts looking upset but whatever it's the truth, all of his male relatives are married. Except for him and his younger cousins. After we are done eating I make sure that My Stinkers use the bathroom and wash their hands. Afterwards I tell them that I'll see them when we get to the hotel.
Manny P.O.V
Grammy got in the van and she immediately cranked up the air conditioner, Summer in Chicago ain't no joke. I did the same in my car. The ride to the Baymont Hotel took a good hour on the expressway, we get there around noon. I parked right in front then went around to open up My Keya's door. I also helped Grammy out of the van and called for the bellhop to get their luggage. Once everyone was ready we go inside to the front desk.
"Hello, welcome to the Baymont, how may I help you?" the male receptionist asks. "Reservation for Rodriguez." I told him. He checked his computer and smiled, "Reservation for 9 rooms until Saturday correct?" "Yes." I paid for the rooms after hearing him tell us about general rules and whatnot. We get our room keys, I pass them out and we all head to the rooms. We drop off her siblings at their room first.
"We'll meet up in the lobby area in about an hour to go to the Park." I tell them and Mami says to them, "I'll see y'all in a minute, we gotta put our stuff in our room. Then I'll be back here ok?" They all nod and we go to our room we chose our swimwear and a change of clothes, towels, our phones, disposable cameras and my camcorder, etc. After putting everything in her big ass beach bag and left to get her siblings ready. Once they were set it was time to head to the park. We met up with everyone in the lobby and drive the short distance to Six Flags Great America. I have been here many times with my family. We made some great memories and now I get to do the same with my future wife's family. But I'm really looking forward to making greater memories here one day with our own children.
It took awhile to find parking spots where we were all parked near each other. We grab our things and as we are walking I tell them, "We have to make it here earlier tomorrow and Thursday. That way we can park up front." They immediately agreed because the only open parking spots were all the way on the ass end of the parking lot! I didn't mind walking but Grammy seems to be a bit outta breath. So I offer to carry her to the entrance. She looks skeptical asking, "You ain't foolin' 'round with me are you Boi?" I grin, "No I'm serious." And I picked her up effortlessly and carried her, I notice how much she's blushing. She says fanning myself with her hand, "Gad Lee you strong! I can get used to this. And if was 20 years younger.. whew!" Then she winked at me chuckling! Damn I don't even know what to say to that, I never had an older woman hit on me before lol. I can tell that this trip was gonna be on and popping! We made it to the line at the entrance and everyone was shocked because I paid for season tickets for all of them. We about to turn up in here!
