Chapter 6 - THE RELATIONSHIP TEST

After dating for three years, Jane suddenly decided that she wasn't going to have sex with John anymore. She used to love sex, and they used to make love everywhere, so there was nothing physically wrong with both of them. It was really frustrating for John that she had suddenly decided to do this.

About six months back, Jane had started making excuses every time John had tried to kiss her, or get close to her. She would tell him that she was busy, or that she was feeling tired. He tried doing things around the house to make her feel better and less stressed. He would clean the house for her, and do all the cooking, and cleaning but she still said she was tired and stressed out from work. She also said that she wasn't interested in sex anymore. What made things worse was the fact that Jane kept promising to have sex with him the next day, or over the weekend, but then she would act like she had forgotten, and when he had tried to have sex with her then, she had got angry, and said that she wasn't in the mood, and told him that he was sex obsessed. John had gone crazy with frustration and anger then. A part of him wanted to go, and find another woman just to have sex with, but he loved his fiancée too much to do that. He honestly didn't know what to do anymore. He tried begging her to have sex with him, which was a real low point. He had even tried to be super nice to her, and he had given her massages too. Nothing! It didn't work, and it still hadn't worked. "If you could help me get my fiancée attracted to me again, and have sex with me again I would really appreciate," he called his Uncle-Paul, and begged him. At this point, he needed someone with experience in such matters. John had stopped taking care of himself, and he'd lost all power in the relationship.

The reason why Jane decided she didn't want sex is that she had lost attraction for John. She had found John very physically attractive in the beginning, but his behavior had, over time, slowly turned her off. Jane also realized that she could control John by not having sex with him. She could get him to do things for her and he would work harder to please her. To her amazement, Jane found out that she only had to have sex with John once a month and he was working overtime to please her. "What a desperate idiot," Jane thought. It was for this very reason that Jane didn't want to have sex with John for pleasure anymore, she just used sex as a weapon to control him.

If she didn't have sex with him, he would get upset and beg her to make love to him. He was so weak and needy, that he had completely turned Jane off with his behavior. The distance between them grew by the day, as John let all his dignity through the window.

Three months later, Jane found herself in a secret relationship with her work mate- Tom. After they had been dating for a couple of months, Jane thought she would withhold sex because she wanted to see how Tom would react. If he was anything like John, she could turn him into another slave for a couple of months before kicking him into touch.

When Tom tried to have sex with Jane, she said she was tired. Tom shrugged and went to sleep. Two days later Tom tried to have sex with Jane again. Again, Jane said she was tired and busy and wasn't interested in sex. Tom simply laughed it off. He then pulled out his phone and began to text someone.

Jane asked Tom who he was talking to, and Tom told her not to worry, and to get some sleep. Tom then got dressed, and ready to leave. Jane flew into a panic. "Where's he going?" She thought to herself. He must have another girl he can call up, and have sex with. Jane jumped out of bed, and threw her arms around Paul. "Don't go," she begged him, pulling his shirt off and kissing him on the cheek… five minutes later Tom, and Jane were back in bed making love.

Tom had neutralized Jane's threat immediately. And Jane never tried a stunt like that again because she had the horrible feeling that Tom had other options, and unlike John, he wasn't afraid to leave her.

Jane had moved out of John's mansion, and she was staying at one of his vacant condominiums. She still had respect for John, and she'd never brought Tom over; they always had their sexcapades at Tom's.

John hadn't quit on the love of his life, and he was doing all forms of reading to get to the bottom of this. His Uncle; Paul was such a great help.

One of the biggest problems that couples experience in long term relationships is a loss of attraction, and sexual desire towards one another. This passion is always incredibly strong in the beginning of the relationship, but it always fades over time, if you don't take proper steps to maintain it. This was the catastrophe that had befallen the once passionate couple. On the day he visited Uncle Paul, he was slated with the following remarks; "The greatest sex killer that I've seen in my experience is when couples spend all their time together. They sleep together, they eat together, they hang out together, watch TV together, brush their teeth together. I've seen cases where couples become so comfortable in the relationship that they walk around naked in front of each other, and even go to the bathroom in front of each other. This might feel comfortable and easy, but be warned, doing this is a big attraction killer.

If you don't have space in a relationship, then you can't spark sexual tension with your girlfriend, and if you don't have sexual tension then you can't have sexual desire. I always strongly advise couples to bring space back into the relationship, even if your girlfriend doesn't want space and gets upset, you need to be the one to enforce it. If your girlfriend sees you most days of the week then it's a good idea to pull away (even if things are going well) and bring space back into the relationship. This will raise your girlfriend's attraction for you, and make her want to have sex with you again." As John drove his Mercedes-AMG G 63 6×6 back home that night, he couldn't help but recall all the mistakes that he'd made during his unprecedented time with his girlfriend.

He wondered whether his father had gone through the same with his mother. The entire time, he was listening to 'She Don't Let Nobody' by Cheka Demus and Pliers. Little did he know that she'd been letting somebody every night that she was away from him.

On reaching his mansion, he bypassed Jane driving out; she'd come back for the rest of her property. He simply waved at her with indifference, and she waved back. The couple drove past each other towards parallel directions. They'd become strangers once again. He'd been told by Uncle Paul to get a purpose besides Jane. In his teenage years, he used to go rock climbing, and he'd take Jane with him everytime.

The next morning, he left alone; the goal was to find himself without his lover. Jane was taken aback that John had stopped calling. Previously, he'd call twenty times straight. She had thought it to be nagging, and she would sometimes hang up, or not even pick up at all: yet the reverse was true for Tom. She enjoyed the mystery and challenge Tom threw at her. She found Tom very slippery, bold, confident, and interesting. After a month of no calls or messages from John, she got concerned, and called him.

John had been waiting for that call, and he knew that it'd come; he didn't pick the first time: this sent Jane into a frenzy of panick. "Has he got someone else," she thought. Enstranged by this unforeseen behavior, she decided to visit him. At this point, Jane could lay comparison between the two men. Tom was the film star, and ideal dream boyfriend, but he had failed to discover the well in her; his bedroom game was lacking, unlike John, who at this point seemed to be slipping out of her grasp. John was also kind hearted, and nurturing.

She found John in the gym; he seemed so focused on whatever he was doing as she observed him for a couple of minutes. He didn't know that she was there. She wondered when he had started using his gym. He looked really good. She had missed him so. He picked up a call, and he seemed to be expecting someone over. This sent her blood boiling, and she was curious to see who it was. Shortly after that, a Rolls-Royce Dawn arrived at the mansion, and two classy beautiful ladies stepped out. These were John's cousins, but she hadn't met them. He had a very big extended family. She looked desolate after this sight.

She observed as John left the gym and went to receive them. He carried both of them in excitement as he hugged them. They seemed to be happy together. She got extremely jealous, and she thought it wise to stop snooping around the house. She decided to intercept them on their way to the first floor. "Oh! Jane, when did you get here?" he asked. She simply looked on in astonishment. "Remember my cousins from France; Danielah and Christine, they came to visit me. They'll be staying for a week or two,"he added. She let out a sigh of relief after this. John introduced the two to Jane, and proceeded to show his cousins to their rooms. He didn't seem as excited to see Jane, or had he learnt how to tame his excitement. She spent the night at John's. He didn't reach out to touch her unlike before. "This was strange," she thought. John bade her goodnight, and he was fast asleep. She could hardly sleep: her conscience was not clear.
