Chapter 13 - Going back to Atlanta.

James' POV.

James sauntered around the street in search of a restaurant, he could feel his stomach rumbling already...why was he this hungry? He searched and searched until he found one. He stepped into the restaurant immediately and took a seat on one of the chairs around a table. The restaurant wasn't that filled up with people.

Not too long after James sat down, one of the female waiters in the restaurant approached him to get his food order. James glanced at her and noticed a type of expression on her face. She didn't say it, but her facial expression screamed, 'What is this boy doing here? Does he even have enough money to pay for the food he is about to order?'. She didn't know that he had a f**king 400 dollars on him.

James didn't react to the expression on her face, that was none of his business. A smile suddenly appeared on the lady's face, what brought about that? She wasn't smiling before? Then she inquired of him,

"Can I get your food order, please?".

James ordered one of his favorite foods, but the waiter told him that it wasn't available in their restaurant. Then he ordered another of his favorite food, he got the same reply from her. Then she handed him a food menu, the list of foods available in their restaurant. He had no choice but to choose foods from the menu...he had placed his order. Then the waiter asked him,

"Note, these foods aren't cheap, are you sure you can afford them?".

Now, James didn't want to be rude to this lady, he just took it like she was concerned about him not eating more than what he could pay for. So he kept his cool and replied,

"Yeah, I can afford them, go bring the food, I'm hungry".

With that, the waiter went away to get the food, after some minutes, she placed them on his table. James didn't waste time as he began eating, the tendency to rush the food was there, but men, people were in here...he's got to control himself. After he was done eating, he drank the glass of juice the waiter brought along with the food.

Then the waiter strolled over to where he was sitting, she had noticed that he was done eating...it's time for him to foot the bill of what he ate. She still had that facial expression of, 'Can he foot the bill?' And that kept him wondering, so she didn't believe him when he said he could afford the food? Wasn't it possible for a boy in his teens to have a reasonable amount of money on him?

Well, that was her prob, whether she believes it or not, he knew that he had the sufficient amount of money to settle the bill and settle other ones that would come up in the future.

"What is the total cost of all that I ate?". James inquired of her.

She told him the total expenditure, and men, it was something he could handle. In fact, it was chicken change comparing it to the amount of money he had on him. He settled the bill and departed from the restaurant immediately, at least, he proved the waiter wrong.

Now, his stomach was filled up, his next aim now was to get to Atlanta. He wants to see what happened after the death of him and his parents, were they even given a proper burial? And foremost, he's got to take revenge for the death of his parents. To him, he didn't die 'cause he was given a chance to live again, he transmigrated into the body of another person. He was sure of one thing, Uncle Fred was gonna suffer for what he did, he must die along with his family.

He'll have to take a public bus that was heading straight to Atlanta, that's the only possible means he could think of. But he doesn't have a single idea where he could find those buses, he doesn't know their station. He wasn't that familiar with places here in Detroit city, this was not where he was born and brought up. He was born and brought up in Atlanta.

But he'll have to locate their station, he must get to Atlanta. Asking people was the only way to find it, so he began asking people. The rude ones ignored him, they were like, 'Who is this boy? But the gentle and mild-tempered ones directed him on how he could locate the bus station. Most people directed him and told him the name of the alley where the bus station was located. But only one guy advised him to stop a taxi and tell the cabman the name of the alley he was heading to...and that's exactly what James did.

He stopped a taxi and told the cabman where he was headed. The cabman told him the cost and inquired,

"Can you afford that amount?". The same question the waitress asked him when he ordered something to eat...everyone was underestimating him.

"Yeah, I can afford that amount, in fact, here is the money". James stated as he dipped his hands into his pocket and brought out the amount of money the cabman needed to drive him to his destination. Then he handed it over to the cabman and questioned,

"Can we go now?".

"Yeah, hop in".

James hopped into the car immediately as the cabman sped off. After minutes of driving, they arrived at the bus station where buses drive people straight to Atlanta. James came out of the car as he had paid the cabman already. He could see people roaming about in the station purchasing tickets which they would use in boarding buses.

He did the same too, he purchased a ticket for himself which gained him access to one of the buses in the station. He sat down using the seat number printed on the ticket, then he took off the backpack from his back and placed it at the top of the bus where luggage were kept. The bus wouldn't move yet 'cause they were still vacant seats...it needs to be filled up with passengers.

Minutes passed as the vacant seats started getting filled up, and before they knew it, they had all been occupied by passengers. The driver entered the bus taking his place at the driver's seat, then he announced,

"All passengers in this bus, I just wanna inform you guys that this is gonna be a long journey. We are gonna arrive in Atlanta in the night, just wanted to notify you guys".

After making that statement, he put on his seatbelt, started the car, and drove off from the bus station. Just as the driver had informed, the drive was a long one. After two hours of driving, they hadn't even gotten close to Atlanta. James was really bored throughout the journey, he wished he had something to keep himself busy while the bus was in motion...maybe, a phone.

After 5 hours of driving, the driver stopped at a fuel station to refill the bus, after that, he settled the bill and drove out from the fuel station. Many passengers dozed off, woke up, then dozed off once again. Many of them were hungry, they needed something to eat...like, they had been in motion for about 6 hours now.

The driver stopped at the front of a restaurant and food store so people could eat and drink something. Some entered the restaurant to eat well-prepared food, while some purchased fast foods and drinks from the food store. That's exactly what James did, he got for himself a plastic bottle of soft drink and sausage. He took them to the bus and consumed them within minutes.

The driver ate something too then waited for all passengers to come back to their seats before putting the bus in motion once again. It took 4 hours and some minutes more before they finally arrived at one of the bus stations in Atlanta. So adding all the total hours together gives us an amount of 10 hours and some minutes. So it took the driver 10 hours and some minutes to drive from Detroit city to Atlanta...that wasn't a small journey.

By the time they arrived in Atlanta, it was already nighttime. All passengers began descending from the bus, the ones that had luggage with them carried it along with them. James descended from the bus also carrying the backpack on his back. It was nighttime already, he would engage in no other activity other than finding a place where he would spend the night.

No one would take him in to spend the night with them, so he'll have to find a hotel...at least, he's got cash with him.
