Chapter 1 - Pure Boredom

'Ughhh' thought lord Ferend 'What am I supposed to do. I already killed the last heroes, who knows when the next ones will show up.' What Ferend was casually referring to as a pastime was actually a devastating defeat for the great coalition of races.

The humans, dwarves, elves, and constructs had all joined together to defeat the almighty demon race. The angelics scoffed at the offer to join this alliance as they saw the demons as mere bugs. A distraction in their holy mission of pursuing their lord. Had they not been so arrogant then the outcome of this battle may have been different.

Alas, Ferend had claimed his victory after a glorious fight. He truly commended these brave souls for their sacrifice. Ferend enjoyed the fight this coalition had put up against him. They used strange abilities albeit strong. However, none were powerful enough to overcome him. The only one that stood out to him was the one named Scrillyn Dragsteel.

In a word Ferend would describe Dragsteel as dignified. This made sense as he held draconic blood. The mighty dragons were one of the most dignified of species. However dignity meant nothing in the face of true power. Remember how I said the dragons "were" dignified. Well this dignified race was completely annihilated by Ferend for reasons he likes to conceal from others.

Although this achievement was great this is not the focus of this tale. Now let's get back to what Ferend is currently doing.

"Hmm" he said to himself, "I killed the heroes and I'll likely be forced to wait another decade before more come to oppose me." This is when he recalled something important. "Didn't my army just finish plundering the library of infinity? I guess I'll go see if there is any information I can use to satiate my boredom."

So he made his way through the grand chambers of the Naughlith. This is the name he gave his castle when he took power. If one was to ask the significance of the name they would be wasting their breath for he chose a name that sounded cool to him. However he regretted his decision many years later for he was a wiser king then. Every time someone uttered the name "Naughlith" he internally cringed.

Finally, he arrived where his loyal subordinates stored the many tomes from the library of infinity. 'Funny it's named that, there aren't even an infinite number of books in there,' he thought as he laughed to himself about it. With that thought he began his search through the many tomes.

Hours later, "A cooking book next to a tome of forbidden curses. Really? I should have asked them to actually organize this better." He made a note to himself to train his subordinates in the art of organization. He truly was a bored demon lord.

After a few more hours spent in this disorganized room he finally decided it was hopeless to search through that disorganization. 'I think I'm going to have a word with Dregal about this.' With this he made his way to his throne room. On the way there he saw many of his subordinates who congratulated him on his great victory. He did not feel right receiving these compliments due to the dilemma he was currently facing.

On his approach the ebony doors began to fade away and he could clearly view the pristine throne room behind. A red carpet led up to an obsidian throne made entirely up of pitch black teeth. These were from the large reptilians dragons he slayed previously. That's right the only reason the mighty dragons went extinct was because the demon lord wanted a fancy new chair. Perhaps this is the reason Dragsteel was so outraged with him in their clash. Screaming about his fallen brethren this, his fallen brethren that. Ferend always just got so caught up in the moment.

'Hmm, I never thought about that,' then he said "Dregal… do you think Dragsteel was outraged because I used dragon fangs for my throne?"

"Of course not my lord, he was nothing but a blubbering fool" he continued with,"That fool stood no chance against your might." Inwardly he thought 'Of course he was outraged at that you fool. What is the limit to your stupidity?'

"Suck up" Ferend muttered to himself, "What news have you from the frontlines Dregal?"

'I heard that you barely lowered your voice!' he thought outraged, but outwardly he said, "My lord the coalition stands no chance against our forces. We greatly outnumber them and they are surrounded. Your vision shall be complete very soon O'great One."

"Excellent" he responded, "Now I have a new task for you to complete"

"What is it my lord?"

"I am very bored at the moment. I want you to find something from the library of infinity for me to read"

'Ugh! Of course it's something degrading like this.'

"I shall immediately find something for you my liege. You need only wait and relax here"

"Thank you"

A few hours passed and Dregal returned with a very thick purple tome that even he with his demonic body had trouble holding. "My lord I believe I have found something entertaining for you to indulge in"

"What is this you have brought me?"

"Well it is called The Tome of Chaotic Deeds"

"Hmm, sounds interesting enough… I might as well, leave me"

"Of course my liege…" Dregal said with a sinister smile as he backed away through the grand doors. The doors then rematerialized and Ferend was then left alone with the thick tome.

'Creepy' he thought, but he left his thoughts on that matter for another time. This was his greatest mistake. Had he questioned to himself why his subordinate had made that face then maybe this story may have never come to be.

'Ok time to see what this is about' with this thought he opened the tome. A flash, bang then nothing. The demon lord's location was left empty and all that remained was the tome.

"Ahahaha ahahahahh ahahahahha!" A laughing Dregal came out of the shadows and cast a lesser flame spell on the book. "Now you will never return."

…

"Wahhhhh wahhhhhhh wahhhhh" The cries of a baby were heard.

"It's a boy! Congratulations Sera and Mareem!" The healer said to the happy couple, "Well have you decided on a name yet?"

"Yes" Mareem responded, " I think we will call him…"
