Rook woke to his alarm blaring alerting him it was time to wake.
Opening his eyes, he saw a flash of light forcing him to close his eyes. The glare was too painful to resist the urge to do so. He also felt hungry, ravenously so. Groaning as he got out of his bed, the world seemed to spin as he fell to the ground promptly, losing the contents of his stomach onto the floor.
he grumbled to himself. "that's going to be a pain to clean up."
Getting to his feet once again, he looked down to see the contents were pitch black. "that's not right, not at all."
rook mumbled. He knew he ate nothing last night that would make that color. Rook made his way up the stairs to the main floor of his house. His room was within the basement of his home rook didn't mind much as no one bothered him. in the kitchen, he made himself breakfast consisting of sausages, eggs and, toast.
Every few seconds, his eyes would still get stabs of pain. The smell of the food cooking made his mouth water so much he was worried he'd start drooling. Strangely his mind felt it was wading through molasses his, thoughts sluggish. The food at last done cooking He reached into the pan with his hands scooping his food out and straight into his mouth. Completely unable to resist the need to eat any longer.
He stood in front of the counter, staring down at where the pans sat. Flames from the stove burning underneath them. Not yet turned off. Rook remembered watching as his hands scooping into the food held by the pan. Hands sizzling as his skin touched the hot pan, "My Hands!" bring his hands in front of his face he saw were completely fine.
"What in the hell is happening?" now that He thought about it, his mind felt clear now after having eaten as if not having eaten yet had removed certain mental faculties and made him less aware. "what could have caused this to happen." he wondered to himself.
His alarm on his phone going off informed him he needed to get to work. Rook deciding there wasn't anything he could do at the moment, promptly discarded any thoughts on the strange situation. he proceeded to his office, started his computer, and fell into his work.
When noon came, he started to feel that strange hunger again. he decided it may be best to take a lunch break. His decision now made he, then proceeded to the kitchen to make himself a sandwich. Sitting down on the couch, he turned on the TV and found something interesting to watch.
Three hours into the series, the power went out, and everything went deadly silent. Somewhere in the distance, a chorus of roars tore into the silence, Making those that heard them shiver with a primal fear.
