Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 11: The Great Pavilion

We were led to our reserved room on the third floor by a boy servant. It felt so very uncomfortable because the people on the first and the second floors are staring at us as we walk up the stairs. I'm not sure why, but they appear to be extremely interested in us.

Is there a reason why they're staring at us like that? It appears that I'm not the only one who notices it; Carole and Noel are also uncomfortable by the way those people are looking at us.

"Brother!" Carole grabs Noel's clothes and pulls him in closer.

"Why are they staring at us like that? It's a little bit creepy." She said and acted as if she was creeped out, making a shivering movement, but she ended up laughing at her own foolishness.

"Ouch!" Carole was smacked by Noel for acting inappropriately in this situation.

Carole then made a pitiful expression as she touched the spot on her head where Noel had smacked her.

Noel simply sighed and patted her on the back of her head, where he had previously hit her. Carole grinned triumphantly as she saw her brother concede to her childishness.

Those people didn't really look at us as if they were plotting or wanted to do something bad, they just seemed really curious.

"I'm don't know why they're staring at us, but stop fooling around," Noel said as he continued petting Carole's head.

I'm not sure why, but among the three of us, only Carole acts our age. We are still 12 years old and still considered young, particularly for us boys, who must reach the age of 18 to be called adults, whereas girls only need to reach the age of 16 to be regarded as adults.

Perhaps the reason I became more mature was that I lived without relying on anyone but myself, same with Noel. Because Noel is the older of the two, he must be more mature and strong enough to protect Carole.

There were a lot of private rooms up here when we got to the third floor. We walk straight, turn right, and come to a halt in front of a red sliding door. The servant opens it for us, revealing the room.

We entered the private room, and I was astounded by how beautiful it was. It cannot be compared to the first and second floors because it is more luxurious and glamorous. The room isn't particularly large, but it's more than adequate for four people.

There are paintings on the wall portraying landscapes, flowers, and trees. It was painted on paper, and it is very different from what I am accustomed to. There are also writings similar to those on the plank at the entrance and a lot of ornaments.

The servant bowed respectfully to us and then said: "I sincerely apologize for the unpleasant treatment that the honorable guests have received from the guest down there earlier. It's rare for anyone to book for the third floor because it is expensive, and the number of customers we have each year can be counted. They are merely curious, honorable guests."

When Ken says it was alright, the servant calms down. Actually, we don't care; they didn't hurt us, so there's nothing to make it a big deal.

The servant bowed to us once more before leaving the room, saying that our food would be there in a minute.

They began to sit, but I remained standing and looked around. I notice that red is the dominant color in this pavilion's design, which is stunning. There is also a large open window through which I can see the people below. I dash towards it and I am astounded by what I see. I can see the busy city from here, and what amazes me the most is that I can see the sea not far away.

When the crystal water moves to make a small wave, it glitters in the sun. The blue wide sea is so beautiful that it almost hypnotizes me to take a swim like how many people I see swimming.

From here, I can easily spot the port, and I can see a lot of large ships. It's my first time seeing a ship, 'so is this how big the ship is that even from here it's still big?'

As I was looking around, someone approached me, so I turned around and saw Carole.

"WOW! ... Sam, it's stunning!" Carole exclaimed excitedly.

"Brother! Brother! Come here and have a look at this." She called her brother, but Noel didn't mind because he was talking to Ken.

Carole frowned but didn't give up, walking toward her brother and yanking him away from Ken. Noel sighs as he walks towards the window, letting her do her thing.

Noel looks up at the view, and even though his face remains neutral and slightly annoyed at Carole, but he can't hide his true emotions when his eyes sparkle with amazement. I smiled as I looked at him.

"Look at that... I'm right, right! Admit it, if I hadn't dragged you away from Ken, you'd miss this view." Carole stated as she looked at Ken.

"You know what, brother, you've always been with Ken sticking each other like a horny dog in heat to the point where I can't even play with you-..." Carole couldn't finish what she was saying because Noel covered her mouth.

Carole's words made Noel blush, and I'm sitting here watching them be entertained by them. I'm not sure how to explain it, but I can't help but chuckle.

They looked at me when they heard me laughing, and Noel glares at me because he knows that I'm laughing at him because of his embarrassing situation.

"Sam, stop laughing! You're not making things better." Noel exclaimed, his face flushed with embarrassment.

Noel's face is so red that it makes him so cute that I pinch his cheeks, which causes him to glare at me even more.

Carole looks at us, perplexed because she doesn't understand why his brother is acting so strangely. When, in fact, she is the source of her brother's embarrassment. It's not like we haven't noticed that he's been spending a lot of time with Ken these days.

I had no idea Noel could be embarrassed when he acts flirtatious and arrogant in front of Ken. He is constantly bossing Ken around and making Ken do weird things for him. He's like a kitten in his mood swings, like a lazy bum ordering Ken around, and it makes me feel so bad for Ken.

Our small commotion came to a halt when we heard someone knock on the door, followed by a woman who announced, "Honorable guests, your food has arrived."

When we heard the food was ready, the three of us looked at each other and realized that for the first time, we had something we've agreed. We dash to our chairs and take a seat, like a good puppy waiting for food.

Ken let them in, but his face is amused as he looks at us, as if we weren't making any noise earlier.

When I saw the food, my stomach grumbled, and I wiped my mouth to ensure there was no saliva to avoid embarrassment. It's amusing how we're acting like good children while we wait for our parents to feed us.

We didn't move even after they finished putting everything on the table. We're waiting for them to leave the room so they don't witness us in our shameful behavior.

"Is there anything else you'd like to add, sir?" The woman from before at the entrance said while returning the card to Ken.

"We'll notify you if we need anything else, but I think it's enough," Ken said to the woman, not caring at how she looked at him flaunting her breast as she bowed.

I looked at Noel to see what his reaction, and I wasn't disappointed when I saw him glaring at the woman. Surprisingly, the woman shivers and appears terrified as she looks into Noel's eyes.

I can sense a thick aura suppressing me, but it doesn't hurt as it is not aimed at me. The woman rushes out of the room with the other ladies, without bowing to us.

I was still surprised at how frightening Noel is, and when I looked in Carole's direction, I'm not surprised he didn't feel it. So Noel has a secret as well, and he's not afraid to reveal it to Ken, who is only trying to appease his anger.

I just let it go because I'm not forcing myself to find out what he's hiding when, in fact, I have a lot of secrets of my own. I'm not sure how I'm going to keep it, and I'm sure I'll be discovered soon.

We continue to eat everything that our eyes can see, and everything is delicious without a doubt. I'm not sure what it was called, but I like this white thing with something inside. We just eat and eat and eat until we can't anymore.
