After unbearable circles of torment I just had to, I finally went through that open door that has been mocking me. I walked out to the hall not even bothering to look both ways for anything lurking–I was starved and I was dying of whatever there is that my mom choose to hide from me–I just don't care what happens at the moment.
I went downstairs to the foyer taking the hall that stretched to the far end, there were doors holding on both sides of the hall. I have nothing of the thoughts or feeling of dread crossing my mind, I just wanted to be free or atleast survive the moment. I knew Lucinda mentioned their kitchen was somewhere around there
As I continued down the hall I heard voices which I just stopped to–without thinking twice. I clinged to the closed door placing the side of my face to it the voices were muffled but I could listen in on their conversation over my heavy breathing
"What do you mean it's already happening" I heard an unfamiliar male voice said
"You heard me right and it's better you get back with the message. Sooner" I heard a familiar voice roared as usual, Cassius.
Who the hell was he talking to and what were they talking about. I just know the probability of me being the center of it's like a ninety-nine in hundred. So I ignored his stern warning against eavesdropping on his conversations–If you get to think it, it's not eavesdropping if you're the center. It's just listening to what they don't want you to hear or learn about yourself.
"Cassuis, you don't get to tell me what to do–so learn to speak your position or well, you know what can happen" I have never thought anyone could be able to threaten Cassius but here I was eavesdropping on it.
"....and the plans have changed. You are to convey her there in three nights from now" The unfamiliar voice said, he looked like Cassius's boss or something.
"I don't think you can order me in my own territory, Silas. I don't follow your instructions, I was told not move her. It was a direct order from the council..."
Cassius started but got cut off by the no shit boss
"Do as you are told Cassius, if you forget I am with the council now. we'll find a better replacement if the task is proving difficult for you" He said mockingly targeted directly at Cassius's ego whom I heard him growl under his breathe. Taking a tensing pause maybe they've got to realize they were not alone because my heart was breaking through its cage and I was breathing like an overworked donkey. I thought this was hell already but I was getting moved to a bigger compartment of it.
"There is no need for that, we will convey her" I heard Damien answer and then footsteps followed. I literally freaked looking both ways, I couldn't even decide where to bounce off to and hide. I ran to the end of hall holding a door that I had no idea where it leads or what's laying behind it. Maybe just head back but they could catch me mid race, I will take my chances. I crashed into the door nearly stumbling my way down a set of concrete stairs which I didn't see coming, it was a freaking basement. I ran down the stairs but then just realized it wasn't a basement–I just found their defective kitchen.
Two ladies were just staring my way puzzled like a hunger hunter bumped into a meaty antelope which was intimidating. I didn't know what to do but a nervous laugh broke out of me.
"I just wanted some smoothie" I said after breaking off my awkward laugh. The skinnier, paler, brown haired lady responded with an "hmm" sound moving over to a huge fridge, she jerked opened the fridge door, the freezing cold engulfing the already chilly air. It was a blood reservoir, my eyes made into a saucer as my stomach turned. How could they keep my food with that, disgusting.
She took out a box of milk and a box of strawberry on the compartment on the fridge door. I was suddenly not in the mood and seeing that it was all an act of stalling it doesn't matter I could take it to go. She blended them together and poured it in a glass keeping it on the counter they were leaning on. She crossed her hands over her chest–yeah, I get it.
I was going to have to take it myself and do I did, not make it anymore awkward I took a sip right there and then
"Hmm- It's good, thank you" I was about to take another generous gulp when I felt it coming back up. I released the glass to the floor on impulse and quickly make my way to the sink gagging out the smoothie I took. I hate vomiting especially the feeling of your insides coming up to your throat.
"What's happening here?" Lucinda said with urgency in her voice coming downstairs hurriedly, it's thought she noticed I was missing and probably there too.
"She's gagging up the liquid slurp" one of the ladies commented carelessly in quite a British accent. I had my face in the sink still gagging when I felt her hand in my hair and the other on my back soothing my current condition. I push up slowly meeting with her scared as shit face.
"Let's go" she said quickly pulling me away towards the stairs in quite a hurry. She didn't speak a word until we were in my room with the door closed shut.
"What were you thinking?! Going out there, he prohibited you from that" She sounded really pissed at me, maybe because she might miss her head had if Cassius saw me but he didn't.
"I was dying in here" I responded but was shocked when she just pulled me into a hug, it felt welcoming
"I got so worried when I found you not here but you are safe now"

"I got so worried when I found you not here but you are safe now"
"Safe?" I think that's a crime saying that to my face, I wasn't safe not ever since they found me. I was getting moved to wherever more hell than this in two nights.
"No I'm not safe. I will never be safe here" I said making her pull away from me
"You're right. We have more pressing issues to tend to, Do not eat anything given to you if not by my hands. Ok" she said quickly whispering. I knew that meant something, adding to the new information I'd acquired it seemed she was filled in too.
"Are they poisoning me or something?" I said shocked because there will be absolutely no need to drug me I will go with willingly.
"I will fill you in on the details later but you will be leaving here soon, I'll be here at the break of the day" she said quickly leaving out the. By the looks of it I will be having some time at my disposal to plan this escape
First I can't believe I might be getting out of here sooner than I thought!
Second Lucinda is totally betraying her kind whom know no mercy to help a person like me!
Third I don't even know where I will be running off to
I sat back on the bed feeling nervous, excited and extremely scared. What if I get caught, neither me or Lucinda will survive a second after that, what if I get to escape but they kidnap me the second time again or Cassius just gets a hold of me if the plan blows out and snap my neck or worst Lucinda sort out to betray me.
Crap!
I was thinking such thoughts whole time it seemed the time slowed to unbearably painful ticks, I was getting really agitated by the wait to hear my grand escape plan and by the looks of it, it's just the afternoon now and I was to leave by dawn when the sun is up.
Maybe if I just think positive the time will come faster, I planned what I would do with Max, Mom– that's the end of positive thoughts, my house will never be a home without my mom. I was back to feeling the pain I have felt the time she was gunned down, I can't wait to taste the sweetness of Justice.
A knock on the door made me stand to my feet again, maybe it's already time to go but it revealed the last person I would ever want to see now– Cassius. I gulped hard as he stepped in silently his face ever straight closing the door behind him with a loud thud making me gasp a bit. Maybe he knew I was listening in on his conversations again and that I left my room.
I was scared again, I have never been that scared. Maybe he's caught on my escape train and was here to disable it, he continued towards me his steps giving out heavy thuds like the aura of anger and hate taking over the once calm air, he halt to a stop when he was just a foot away. He sort of was observing me–suspiciously, maybe I was already giving it away by the guilty scary look on my face.
One thing I was even more afraid of he doesn't even have to compel me to spill the beans of my escape plan because the iciness and pure cruelty in his eyes would.
"Sit" he ordered simply but firm enough to make my legs and waist worked like he wanted sitting me on the bed while my eyes were still fixed on him. He stood over me simply looking at me keenly like his eyes were trying to penetrate through me.
"Let me be asking you something?" He said plainly, I nodded
"You called on the wolves here to break you out, How?" he looked damn serious asking me that
"No. I don't even know, they existed until after they attacked. I didn't–I swear" He didn't speak after but just kept staring, he isn't all while convinced even though I was speaking the truth.
"How did you kill the vampire in the dungeon"
"I–I didn't. I don't know. I was just scared, it happened too fast"
"Lucinda–"
"I swear she did nothing, please don't punish her. She just feeds me as you ordered"
I was heaving and my eyes were growing glossy as he simply stared me down. I realized that I was just the one trying to blow myself off.
".....Said you haven't been eating, any reasons I should know?" He said like he was ever nice or cared a fuck about me, he changed the topic. I doubt if that was the reason he came all the way here. He would have asked Lucinda to do some work on me and find out as always Or-
I don't even want to think it
"N-none that I have known of" I said my voice a bit shaky
He sat next to me grabbing my wrist and in shock I flinched but I realized he was just to check my vitals.
"It's an insult to my coterie to have you under fed," He justified his action.
"I understand"
He stood to his feet right after leaving the room quietly, there was definitely something. He totally drifted from the actual topic he wanted to talk about, if it was me being in compliance when he comes to drag me to God-knows-where then he could just shove it. I am busting out of this join with or without anyone's help.
I sat back down on the bed feeling much more determined and wanting to get out of here. Lunch came and it wasn't even Lucinda who bought it but one of those ladies in the kitchen who made me a smoothie more reason for me not to eat although she didn't mention lunch. Dinner is to go in six hours and I just can't wait!
Time passed every second feeling like a century. I pace, jogged, meditate and danced but time was very still and slower. I slumped in the bed after my routines, staring at the ceiling. There was a knock on my door again, dinner is here!
The lady pushed in the cart and took the one she brought for lunch without a word.
I went over the cart judging from the smell that consumed my room, it got to be a mean dish.
Hell it was!
Pot roast beef and broccoli, oh! That is a mean way of drugging someone with a hearty dish. Although I was quite hungry you can't imagine how hard it was ignoring such food, so kick back that watery tinkling goodness behind my throat I had a little cup of water by my bedside so I chugged it down.
I changed sight to the other wall just to get the dish away from my view but not the smell but I'm a person of control. I waited it out but then I was expected to eat the dinner, won't they be suspicious if I don't especially that I have skipped both breakfast and lunch. I got off the bed quickly looking around the room for a better place to hide my dinner without being detected. I emptied the plate under the bed quickly and more than half of my glass in the bathroom sink. As I was coming out my door was opened, I stood there almost frozen until I saw her
I let out a heavy sight coming by the cart keeping the cup.
"I thought you said till break of dawn"
She was quickly by my side pushing me back to the bathroom door.
"Something's come up. We don't have much time, it's tonight" she whispered panting a bit more.
"Tonight! I thought we had a little bit of time" I didn't known I was yelling until she hushed me.
"Listen, the meal was to weaken you and not knock you out cold. But since you haven't taken it you're going to have to act and I hope you are good a it" I nodded at her nervously because I don't! I suck at acting. I automatically turn into a robot and my face freezes into a awkward smile no matter how I try not to.
My beating heart was beating faster now
I stood as she finished laying out the plan up to the point I will get out of sight, if it works as we planned.
"Here, take this. It will boost your system" she said pulling out a small bottle of swamp looking liquid from a bag slinging over her shoulder that I didn't notice the whole time. I took it an opened relieved the glass cork, I lift it to my mouth and got hit by such a stench like from a livestock farm. I quickly chugged the content down my throat and it sure tasted like manured ground.
"Earthy" I said hanging her that bottle, she took it and place it inside the bag carefully making a dull sound of contact with another bottle. Well that's it for me, I'm taking no more of her concoctions.
"The bag will be yours when you are leaving, Supplies are in there" I sure hope they are all not in bottles and colored too. She smiled at me sadly wanting to turn on her heels but I grabbed her wrist.
"Lucinda why are you doing this?"
She turned completely her eyes glossy with tears threatening to flow cupping my cheeks.
"I couldn't help my best friend and I can sure make it my life's work to see her daughter out of harms way" She leaned planting a soft kiss on my forehead. I felt stroke by pain and my throat felt like I have swallowed something big, I couldn't help the tears at the mention of my mom. It explained a lot of her behavior towards me–she was family.
"Thank you" I said after she pulled away some of the tears running down her cheeks as she mouthed Good luck.
I need all the luck in this world to go through tonight, I watched as she silently exist my room and it was time to start executing the plan!
I quickly went under my sheet staring at the wall and also keeping my ears sharp. As soon as I caught on the sound of my twisting door knob, my eyes fell closed instinctively.
Typical Gia, but this time I was oddly calm, my heart wasn't about to break out of my chest and I wasn't hyperventilating.... It must be the earthy stuff I ingested. I heard three set of footsteps coming in but only one advancing to the foot of my bed.
"Get her out of the bed" I heard Damien said obviously Cassius wouldn't trust no one with me, I felt a set of hands go under me to lift me off the bed. So he did but before he had me pressed against his chest I slowly opened my eyes wearily meeting with the hard features of the guards.
"W-what are you doing?" I asked weakly not making any moves as I was to be super weak.
"Oh! It's awake, fun" I heard Lenora muse, oh! I so want to walk over her burning corpse. "It" I'm a human for crying out loud and she's the dead walking empty shell. The guard continued on his task lifting me to his arms, I rested my head on his shoulder letting my hand dangle on my side as he took me away towards the door.
Lucinda's right! Four individuals where to take me to my vehicle then Cassius will take over. But I see no why Lenora had to be in those counts, her presence disturbs me. I let my eyes closed as I was taken down the stairs
"We are taking the back entrance" Damien said as soon as we were at the bottom of the steps. Wait what! Lucinda never said nothing about any back door, I was leaving through the front door and that's where she will be intercepting. Holy crap where is Lucinda!? Although I was starting the freak out a bit my vitals were in check which was so upsetting, the terror was tearing me from the inside and I'm not even allowed to show it
I peered a bit through seeing that we were taking the hall leading to the basement kitchen. Damien held out the door for him as he went down the stairs with me, he walked by the steel table at the center of the kitchen standing in front of the brick wall
"Where are you taking me?" i didn't forget to sound like a dying person with a hint of anger and fear as the doors of hell opens up to his accommodations.
Of course no one cared to answer me, not even Lenora. She came forward standing in front of the wall pulling at one the rectangular sized blocks and it came free easily and the dazzle followed, it was a damn secret passage.
So much for a well constructed escape plan! Lucinda will never be able to find me now
After the wall fall move apart wide enough for us to enter, Damien rushed us in like the life out of him was slipping through his fingers. The sound of their feet was the only thing that I could hear beside the steady pace my heart was picking.
I was getting moved and completely oriented carried in an arm of a merciless vampire to my doom and I couldn't lift a finger. What a moment of joy! I had to atleast try to save my ass as it is I was on my own.
But for my better good and to save me from my possible execution in a tunnel looking hall I heard a little disturbance in the still air followed by three heavy thuds, before my carrier could act he was falling to the ground with me in his arms, it was one heck of a fall but luckily he landed on his side. I quickly scrambled away from his arms my heart in my throat looking up to the hoodie wearing savior towering over me. Before the person pushed away the hoodie from their face I considered them just as much threat as the four still bodies on the floor.
It was Lucinda!
"How did you–"
"We don't have time, let's go" She said giving me a hand. She hoisted me up effortlessly as we ran off towards the other end of the hall. I looked back to the four pile of bodies on the floor knowing that when they woke they will be one angry bitches! Lucinda snapped their heads that fast! Not even Damien heard her coming
Never underestimate those tiny, sweet, pretty ladies. She was kick ass tonight
It was the end of the tunnel with a door standing facing us, anything could be laying out there.
Probably Cassius's army of highly trained wild vampires
Why do I suddenly think this is messed up, oh well because it is! But there is no regrets now I will have to face what's coming. She removed the bag hanging over her shoulder and slung it over mine.
"You ready?!"
"No but let's do it!"
