'THEN WHY THE FUCK COULDN'T YOU ALL STOP IT...'
'Falcon...' Cyan touched his arm.
He freed himself with a rough shake. It was daylight, the worst day to ever dawn on his life. 'SHE WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU...AND YOU LET HER GO...'
'There was nothing we could do...' The slayer began meekly. 'It all happened too fast...'
'SHUT UP...JUST SHUT UP...' He felt himself sag to the ground with his head clutched in his hands. He felt his body shake with his sobs of agony...or maybe it was just Cyan asking him to get a grip.
His outburst was interrupted by a clatter outside the tube. There was an uproar of noise, coming all at once, that sounded like various men on horseback, roaring and screeching in some language he couldn't quite place.
'What...' Cyan said, confused.
Falcon gave a bitter smile. What he had predicted had finally come true, but the girl he had been hoping would see it to get her revenge was not there anymore.
