After inciting the spell, we went together towards the kitchen downstairs to feast upon the Roe deer I've brought home from my "hunting" trip. The Chefs assisted mother in the kitchen as she started cooking its tender meat. The rest of us were growing anxious as the sweet smell of mothers cooking filled the air , saliva came dripping down.
The rabbit had barely any meat to sate our hunger alone. So mother decided to make rabbit soup , that way we can each enjoy a piece of rabbit meat and also filled our stomachs with a warm and delicious soup. It serves as a side dish to the steak made from the Roe deer meat.
Just as the food was about to be served on top of the table. Louise and Jeanne came down the stairs. Awaken from their sleep , Louise had barely any cloths on her , she had only worn her night gown when she came down to eat. Her hair unkept , only tied to one side with a single black hair band. Meanwhile Jeanne came down prepared, she wore her evening dress and a thin coat, her hair neatly brushed to the side, her long hair came together bound together, her hair came down to her chest from the side presented her with an elegant manner.
They sat across the table as they started to have a casual chat with mother and father. Mother and father told them about me sneaking out in the dead of night on a solo hunting trip. They expressed their concern and surprise when they heard about what I've had done. Louise stood up from her previously sitting position and then resumed to walk across the room towards me .
Louise hugged me tightly in her arms, I felt a warmth and comfort from her embrace. Afterwards she started to shed tears on top of me. She was concerned about my safety and well being. While at the same time she repeatedly scolded me for being reckless endangering my own life despite knowing what I'm capable of.
I tried to calm her down but she wouldn't let go of her tight embrace. Jeanne tried to calm her down , and after a few calming words from myself and mother she finally let go of me. It was an unexpected reaction, I didn't think that she cared so much for me , but I guess within her strong and prideful visage lives a kind and caring little girl.
Jeanne on the other hand kept her composure , however despite her lack of actions. I knew that she cared for my wellbeing as much as Louise and Mother had. After making sure I'm actually alright through talking and scanning my body with her magic. She proceeded to question me about my late night adventures.
While eating together I talked about some of the casual aspects of my adventures . I went into the woods behind the village near the vast valley at night time . The trees covered the skies above despite being separate enough to the point that you can see to the middle of the clearing without much trouble it still presents it self as a woodland of trees and vegetation, home to many animals , plants and even monsters.
I saw many kinds of animals and monsters throughout the entire forest but none as noticeable as the Flock of Owls perching on the high trees in the western part of the woodlands. The wolf pack led by the Great white Wolf living in the eastern part of the woods within small caves dug into the hills. On the Southern part of the woods its home to the most mysterious animal of the entire forest the Illusionary butterfly, I managed to get glimpse of its magnificent rainbow colored wings before it vanished from my sights completely , I wasn't able to find it again despite searching high and low for hours at a time. Lat but not least is The Huge Black Bear living in the mountains on the northern part of the woodlands, despite living alone without a pack it stood dominant over the entire woodlands.
Besides my encounters with these beasts, I told them about the several save zones stretched throughout the entire forest area and the path that lead out of the Eastern side of the Forest. After hearing about this path father immediately dispatched scouts to the forest to not only find the path but to draw a topography and a map of the surrounding area incase of an enemy attack from the woods on a later time.
While searching through the woods I've found several places were rare herbs grow in large quantities. The herbs can be used in concocting medicines , cures , anti inflammation and many more medicinal purposes. Besides that rare herbs are also used for Alchemy practices and Potion making. I picked up all kinds of herbs in the woods and brought them back here. With the discovery of several sites ripe for the taking, A new project started in purpose of gathering and cultivating these herbs.
What I didn't realize that day was that the rare herbs I've brought back from my expedition to the woodlands became a new unique product of our village. It boosted our villages economy to a new level. The Village's earnings sky rocketed as more and more people came to our village for the single purpose and that is to get their hands on the rare herbs, which is rarely found any where else in this kingdom.
I ended my story with a my hunt for the Roe deer. I told them that , I had been tracking the Roe Deer through the woods for hours. Waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. When that moment came , with a single shot from my bow the deer went down into the ground. It was quick and precise to the point the deer didn't even manage to move nor put up a struggle.
Elise was thrilled to hear the final part of my story as I explained to her how to hunt and kill the prey so that you can get the best quality meat possible. The deer meat steak mother prepared was exquisite, the meet was tender and soft the sauce packed with flavors, the rabbit soup complemented the steak well. Everyone enjoyed the meal so much that they wanted more and more until there was nothing left at the table to eat.
Afterwards Elise kept begging me to go hunting with her. She wanted to eat that wonderful meat dish again and again. So she kept urging me to go hunting with her. After several attempts , I finally agreed to her request under fathers permission of course. I thought her everything I knew about hunting games.
But despite her best efforts, she still couldn't hunt a perfect game. She would reveal her presence every time she was about to kill her prey, which led to them struggling and straining their muscles before being caught. Making their meat tougher than the one I've hunted. She would whine every time I've beaten her in our hunting game . But in the end we became closer and closer as siblings through the time we spent together.
Thanks to Elise and Myself hunting everyday , our family have fresh meat for breakfast lunch and dinner. Although mother was reluctant to let my sister and me go hunting alone in the beginning. She decided that this was the best chance for me and Elise to bond with each other alone and to let Elise learn something new from her brother. The First few hunting trips mother would franticly walk outside of our home waiting for us to come home . Then she would resume to cast multiple healing spells at us.
However after a few weeks of hunting she had gotten used to it . She already prepared the kitchen to cook the gains we brought home. Honestly I'm glad that she stopped worrying to much. I heard from father that she was biting her nails and being gloomy at home when we're not around. But luckily Louise and Jeanne was there to calm her down and distract her mind by having fun with her around the house.
This routine repeated itself over and over again for a while now. We were able to forget about our problems and just live our lives without worry , just as it meant to be. However this peaceful atmosphere didn't last long as danger was looming. That danger came to our village in the form of a Mercenary army Led by one of the Dawn Priest's lackeys. He had sworn vengeance for the humiliation I had brought upon him.
While we made our own preparations against him . Despite being pressured from all sides. He had made his own preparations in advance , he used his connection and wealth to assemble an army in secret to execute his revenge. A powerful man made disaster came to our village .
A mercenary force Three Thousand strong attacked !
