Quinn watched Nesta roll off the bed in the room and reach for her clothes without looking at him or not so much as a word from her. He did not know where they stand after what just happened between them but from her reaction, he knew she would prefer not to talk about it and just pretend like it never happened. Quinn did not mind having to do that all over again but the woman would not even look at him.
A voice inside Nesta urged her to confront Quinn, to talk about what had happened, to make sense of it all. But another voice, one hardened by the betrayals of the past, cautioned her against such vulnerability. She did not know what got into her at all for the past few hours they had been at it but now that all the bubble is gone, everything came crashing on her. She had been hurt before, deceived by his sweet words and false intentions. Could she trust him now? she concentrated on dressing up before she heard his voice behind her.
