Jane's heart skipped immediately she heard her name coming through an elderly woman's voice.
{Oh God, please help me, oh God please help me}
She reluctantly enforces little effort on the door handle as it squeaked open and she enters the room with a fake and scary smile. She does look afraid, as a child would be when visiting the Halloween house for. the very first time.
"G-Good day, Mother"
Raven shot a brow up at herself. Why does the real Jane spirit have to interfere with other spirit's businesses?
Though, if the spirit didn't interfere, how will she know this is the mother of James?
That will be another problem.
"Hello dear. Come, and sit down with me"
"No Mother. I will sit on the floor next to you"
Before the Mother says anything, Jane walks smartly to her side and says on the floor, next to her legs stretched out with the way she's seated on the couch.
"What about Father"
"He is off. He went on a long holiday, where he can meditate"
Jane asks nothing more but just nods in understanding. Guess the Father of James is as busy as his son...
But does he treat this old woman the way his son treats her? Some answerless questions.
"What about your husband? Where is he?"
"On a business trip. He needed to attend to it urgently"
The old woman nods slowly hearing this and then turns her gaze to Jane.
"What has brought you here today?"
Many things. So, many things.
"I came here concerning your son, Mother"
The woman adjusts, but with a wise and weary smile glued on her face.
"What did he do now?"
"It's been two days, Mother and..."
"What do you mean two days?"
Jane and Raven stare at the woman with their words abandoning them.
What does that mean?
"Two days of the marriage. We have bee-"
"The both of you are married for approximately three years now, dear have you suddenly lost count of it?"
Th-Three years?!
No wonder it seems so long and frustrating! Three long frustrated-engulfed marriage that she's in with...
With James.
Jane stares at her mother-in-law speechlessly. Three years is sure long and wide. So many things that went on that she doesn't seem to remember.
{Remember, it's only two days that Raven has to possess Jane back at where she was in her room when Jane visited her parents' house without knowing what will wait for her there}
But...
But why did he act like that the first night he saw her? Have they been divorced before, or it's just a habit of introducing himself over and over again until she gets it? Or the people around him do?
Something's off and she can't get her finger in it. Something... Is not right and she can't tell what's that is.
She just can't.
"Oh... I forgot! My bad. But I still have a problem, Mother"
Jane pretends and Raven backs off when the real Jane's spirit starts to have the urge to go forward first.
"What is it? Mention anything dear"
Such a kind old woman.
Raven listens attentively to the spirit Jane to know if she can add any other question that pops up in her mind about James.
"Mother, for the past three years... James has refused to have anything to do with me. We just-"
Jane and Raven start to feel ridiculous the moment the old woman laugh pierces their ears. Is she wanting to tell them stupid lies or all their suspicions are right?
Seeing the woman laugh touches Raven so very much, that her memories of Hasma start to recollect.
When she was a little Demon with white wings amongst the others, she stood out. But they never recognized her as the proper demons they knew... Never recognized her as the daughter of their leader, Xuvicer.
Raven stared deeply at the woman's lips that are widened and filled with laughter.
She remembers how they laugh at her when she was a little Demon... How things went rough and how they mocked her with their laugh.
The same way they laughed...
That is how this woman laughs.
Raven wanted a pool of water to start flowing out of her spiritual eyes as tears but nothing did. There is no such word, as crying for an Angel, nor a spirit.
Raven sighs and remains still. She has been using her mind to control all movement of the body of Jane, while she in the body of Jane is standing at attention.
{Same goes for other Angels. Controls from the mind, while they stand still like a statue}
As the laughter dies down, the old woman opens her eyes to start talking to her daughter-in-law... But...
Raven controlled Jane and Jane left the family house of James in hot tears. Hot... And Red tears.
"Miss Jane? Are you alright?" One security asks and four other men gather around her, in concern.
"I am alright," Jane says with a choky and rough voice.
Her attempt to leave got aborted the moment the security held her arm firmly.
"I am not letting you leave until you tell us what the matter is" he also nearly yells!
That sentence sparks Raven like an electric bomb that just exploded and without knowing where the strength came from, the arm of Jane that the soldier is holding swiped him off his feet with she raising it and she flings him on the ground, panting with her eyes red and her face red.
The four other security men make way calmly, letting to pass the middle of them, two on each side. The old mother of James stood at the door entrance that she made Jane exit and stared in wonder and shock.
So both husband and wife's anger is not good now? How did she not know that and let her son marry such a person?
Jane walks like a real seducing feminine. Her shoulders slump down as she walks down the stairs on which she walked up some moments ago.
She stops when she reaches the last step and shook her head. Tears flowed down her face in anguish and held up shame.
"It's shame you are the mother of my husband, I wonder what such of blindness I had at that moment.... " she lifts her head and stared directly into the eyes of the old woman.
"Because your laugh seems like theirs"
The old woman's eyes widen in surprise and shock. Theirs? Who?
She thought her daughter-in-law never suffered, now she did all of a sudden?
Jane walked out of the room while the four security men gathers around their boss to make sure he's okay.
The securities also know the family of the JerMcCharles to be ruthless fellows, they wouldn't blame the wife of James if that is what she meant.
To be honest, they wouldn't blame her for anything at all.
Nothing... At all.
Jane walks to the car and enters it with her hand relaxing on her forehead. How stupid she was to think that this woman will help her when she only laughs like them...
Those... Those demons...
She knew it!
She was a demon before... How did she get here then?
What if she asks the father of James?
The man must be dead by now, right?
"Argh," She releases a stressful sigh and takes her phone out to just look at the pictures she has never opened the Gallery app to see.
She starts to scroll down, seeing different pictures that she can't remember. And some of them are blurry memories.
There's one, pink background and both of them took pictures on a red carpet.
Another, they were having roller coaster fun.
Her face was caught up in the camera with the wrong pose and face.
Jeez...
She dims the screen of the phone and licks her lips...
She needs one person...
And that person is James, only.
