Chapter 3 - 3: First Encounter

Ashton Dewise's P.O.V.

Alright. Things... occurred. Let me tell you about it. So I was walking, right? As I was walking, five minutes later, I found a very chopped tree, approximately fifty by fifty meters wide and is 2 meters tall. Everything around it within 20 meters was nothing but grass. As I was spectating the tree, I found a body of a wounded man lying near the humongous tree.

And right now, I have endless thoughts on what I should do.

The man was around 6 feet tall, and he seems to be 17 years old, a year older than me. He was intensely wounded as if he was in a war. Thankfully, his head wasn't that damaged, however, his body is severely injured.

The man was wearing a brown sleeveless robe that shows his chest, as well as black pants that goes almost all the way to his ankle, as well as a coat that is tied in his waist, going all the way down to his hamstring. He also wore brown shoes. His clothes were surprisingly undestroyed.

Maybe I should help him. But then what if I die? My goal of thanking Mr. Zghayolnne would be ruined. Hmm. Maybe I should. But how could I help him?

Ah. I should use my abilities to heal him. I wonder if my First Ability called Card Master could. If I remember correctly, I could place a Blessing or a Curse in it. I don't know how, but in this kind of scenario, nothing is not worth trying.

Hurriedly, I closed my eyes and then imagined a single Card appearing in my hands. The next thing I knew, was that I was holding a Card. The Card was of normal size, and there was nothing in it, except a blank white color. Now that I managed to generate a Card, let's put a Blessing in it. Please, I don't want silly incantations or anything of the sort.

However, I should control it telekinetically. I don't want anything to go wrong. The Card that I was holding in my hand flew in the air, floating as if there was no gravity restraining it. Okay, let my experiment begin.

"I, Ashton Dewise, give this Card an ultimate Blessing," I said, but nothing happened. "Ultra Regeneration." I said.

The moment those words left my mouth, the Card that I was holding shone brightly. I was surprised that this thing could happen, but then again, my life's already surprising enough. As the Card's light began to fade, I looked at it.

To my surprise, there was something drawn in it that my brain cannot comprehend. Anyways, how should I use this? What if it needs to be in contact with what or who I want it to be? Let's try it and see what happens.

The Card that was floating in the air went towards the man. The moment it landed on the man's chest, his wounds began to close at a fast rate. His severely wounded body was now being healed rapidly.

A few seconds later, the man's wounds were healed, and the moment everything was alright, the Card disappeared, leaving no trace in it as if it never existed. I walked towards the man and then looked at him. As I was observing his body, his eyes opened.

Soon after his eyes had opened, the man stood up in panic. Frightened, he walked a few steps away from me. When he stopped walking backward, an axe began to appear in his right hand. To be fair, I would be in his state if I were him.

The man examined his body, and when he found out that his wounds are one, he was confused. How troublesome. Let's just not talk to him at all and leave. After all, I have finished everything that I need in solving how I could use my first Ability properly. Thanks to him, of course.

I turned myself away from him and started to walk away. Not even 5 steps of walking, the man talked to me.

"Who are you? What have you done to me?" The man said.

Okay? Is that how you talk to someone who just saved your life?

"If you are going to be rude to someone who just saved you, then I will leave," I said, and silence filled the entire area. I looked at the man, and his face was full of emotions, mostly confusion.

"...Okay. I am Aphelios West, and I am seventeen years of age. May I ask who you might be?" The man asked politely, throwing his axe away from him.

"You can call me Ashton. I am not gonna ask why you are wounded or anything of the sort, but if you have no business with me, I will leave." I replied.

"Please don't. I value your kindness of healing a severely wounded stranger more than my pride, so may I ask how can I pay you back, Mr. Ashton?" Aphelios politely asked.

"You don't have to pay me--... well, actually, you can," I said.

"...I will grant anything, Mr. Ashton." He said.

"I will be straightforward. Your payment for me is for you to serve me for 5 whole years," I said.

Silence filled the entire area. Well, I can't blame him. Serving someone for 5 years of your life is too much, even to someone who has saved your life. I wonder if he'll say yes or no.

"It's a pleasure to be your servant." He said.

Now, wait a second. Does this man don't have anything in his life that is important? Taking 5 precious years is too much, but, if he says so. I don't want to be nosey in his life, especially since I have just seen him like 5 minutes earlier.

"What should I address you?" Aphelion asked.

"Whatever floats your boat. Also, don't be too polite. Just be yourself. Clingy, noisy, loud, whatever. Just be yourself. Now, we don't have a lot of time, have we?" I said.

As I said that, Aphelios nodded and smiled. Apparently, I have been revived from death, transmigrated to another world, had fantasy-like abilities, and a new servant... more like a friend. Eh, everything's fine. Besides, I still have to thank Mr. Zghayolnne.

Thus, my journey in another world continues.
