Chapter 4 - 4: Plans

Third Person's P.O.V.

*30 minutes of endless walking later*

"Ashton! I am already done with our starter Camp. The fireplace is fine, and the place we will be sleeping is also done!" Aphelios exclaimed as he looked towards Ashton.

He was still wearing his sleeveless shirt which still shows his chest, and his pants and coat. His body was that of a knight but is a bit slimmer.

Ashton was near the river on where he spawned earlier that same day, just mesmerizing the beauty of the river. He looked at his reflection, examining his whole body. Though he was transmigrated to another world, his face was still the same, but his body was more like of a prince -- slim yet muscular and attractive.

He had both a very handsome and very pretty face and a skin almost as white as snow. He had ash-gray-colored hair that covered his left eye. His eye color was pitch black. He was wearing a white turtleneck tucked in black pants with a brown belt. He was also wearing a black trench coat and thin black gloves, as well as black shoes.

Aphelios ran towards him. Ashton looked at Aphelios and what he had accomplished. There was an underground sleeping place and a fireplace with big rocks near it a few yards away from the underground sleeping place. Ashton stood up as Aphelios went near him.

"Thank you for the hard work," Ashton said, and Aphelios smiled. "...Can I ask how are you able to create this in just a single minute?"

"It's because of my Gift," Aphelios giggled. "My Gift is called Floor Manipulation. Basically, I can control any type of Floor that I touch."

'That could be very useful in many ways.' Ashton thought to himself.

"...This might be unrelated, but can I ask what your other Gift is?" Ashton asked. Though Zghayolnne didn't explain how Plevis works, Ashton, thanks to the book that Zghayolnne gave him, knew everything that he will ever need to know, such as his 4 Gifts are double to that of a single being.

"Yes, of course. My second Gift is called Weaponry. As long as I have used any type of weapon, be it custom-made or not, I can freely generate and add enchantment on it that only I can handle." Aphelios explained.

'That Gift is wonderful. Thank goodness he is on my side.' Ashton thought to himself.

"Your Gift is exceptional. Use it well." Ashton replied, and Aphelios smiled and then nodded. "Let's sit near the campfire, wish to discuss something."

Then, the two of them walked and sat at the big rocks that were sitting next to the fireplace.

"So... what are we gonna talk about?" Aphelios asked.

"Good question. We are going to talk about how we will survive in this crazy forest. I do not know where we are, but I will live in this forest, away from anybody else except you, of course. If you have any complains, speak now." Ashton explained, and Aphelios shook his head from left to right a few times.

"Okay." Ashton responded. "Now that we have decided to live in this forest, we must take care of ourselves and what is in here. Since this is ours, even though it is self-proclaim, I don't think no-one is in here, mainly because there are no signs of civilized life."

"In order for us to survive here, we must learn how to defend ourselves. That includes honing our skills to it's maximum extent. We can't live in this humongous jungle with countless dangers ahead of us without any power to defend ourselves, after all." Ashton interrogated.

"Next, we must learn how to build our land. I don't think we can, but if we try, we can. Maybe. But if we don't, then we have to find someone. Now, I am not saying that we should trust everyone that helps us once. Trust is never that easy to build. I am saying that we should find someone that we know that is good-natured. A little note though, I despise most humans." He explained.

"Back to the main topic, the next thing is to explore this whole forest. Though this definitely will take a lot of time, this is drastic for ourselves, since we need to know how big this forest is, and of course, what is inside here. We don't want anything weird in here, don't we?" Ashton said.

"That's almost all I have to say. Do you have any suggestions or complains? Fell free to speak. This will be needed, since your opinion might decrease our flaws." Ashton asked.

"I have none. I think your plan is perfect, Ashton. " Aphelios replied as he smiled.

'Though I have some trouble catching up since your plan is so perfect.' Aphelios thought to himself.

"Thank you very much, but don't overestimate me." Ashton replied.

"...Sure. So, when are we going to fulfill this plan?" Aphelios asked as he stood up.

"Later. I haven't finished my speech yet." Ashton replied, and Aphelios slowly and awkwardly sat back on top of the rock.

"Can you tell me what your specialty is?" Ashton asked.

"Oh. Uhm, I specialize in close-combat fighting. I mostly use an axe or a spear, but I can use a sword as well. Though I am terrible at long-range combat, I make it up for being decent at setting traps. That is all that I can do, but I do think that I can improve." Aphelios replied.

"What about in non-combat stuff? Cooking, painting, whatever you might have, tell me." Ashton asked.

"Uhm, I am good at cooking, building small structures such as a small house, and dancing. I don't think the latter will be useful though." Aphelios replied.

"Okay, I've heard enough. Thank you for the hard work. Please prepare yourself, as we will begin our plan in an hour." Ashton replied, and Aphelios nodded.

Ashton stood up from where he was sitting and went at the river. He looked around for a few seconds, and then nodded to himself. Then he went back and took his book, sat down at the rocks near the campfire, and then read the book.

Thus, the journey of Ashton with his new friend Aphelios continued.
