The last bell of the day rang and I breathed out a sigh of relief.
Today felt like a long day and I can't wait to get home, relax and not have to worry about completing my homework for the next two days.
Weekend here I come!
I packed my school bag and quickly got out of class to meet up with Uma and Carol at their class. I stood by their classroom door watching them as they packed their things and walk towards me.
"Boy I'm sure glad it's a Friday today," Uma said, stretching her arms "I can lounge about and just chill by the pond all day long" She sighed contently and I chuckled "I'm with you on the lounging part," I said and smiled at her.
"You two seem to forget we have homework to do and I'm sure you have lots of it" Carol reminded us and we groaned knowing very well how much we needed to do.
"You're just like Tetsu, never seem to forget this kind of thing" I pouted and Carol immediately blushed at the mention of his name.
"W-Well it's a good thing," she said twirling a strand of her hair, Uma and I noticed her sudden shyness and the blush on her cheeks and we smirked.
Carol has had a crush on Tetsu for a while, even though he's older than her but that didn't stop her from liking him.
It all started when I got sick to go to school and she came over to give me the notes I missed in the classes we shared. I'm pretty sure Tetsu was being his usual polite self but she took to him in an instant.
By the time she got to my room, she was a blushing mess and asked about him, sort of forgetting why she was there in the first place. She only remembered after he had asked her about giving me notes when she got to the door.
It was quite the scene, Uma and I tend to tease her about her little crush. One time I encouraged her to tell him how she felt, knowing him he would decline gently, yes your heart will break but it makes things much easier for you but she immediately lost her mind.
She pleaded that I say absolutely nothing to him and that he'd think she was weird for liking an older person even though I reassured her that he wasn't that type of person but she didn't hear me.
So I just told her I won't say anything and she calmed down, I'm pretty sure she also made Uma promise not to say anything but she seemed a little terrified when I asked her about it, to this day I wondered what had Carol said to her to make Uma scared.
"Hey isn't that Tetsu over there?" Carol immediately jumped and started fixing her hair "W-where, he can't see me like this" she said as she frantically fixed herself and kept looking around.
Uma immediately burst out laughing, Carol looked confused at first and then realized what just happened "Uma that's not funny" She said puffing her cheeks while punching Uma on the shoulder, it was quite adorable.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I just couldn't help it" Uma laughed while putting her hands up to protect herself from Carol's punches.
"But you should have seen yourself, it was adorable" She added and I chuckled "She's not wrong, it's cute how easily flustered you get," I said and gently nudged her, she blushed a deep crimson red and turned away, covering her face with her hands.
"You guys are mean."
We chuckled and hugged her "And we love you too," we said in unison, giggling as we made our way to our lockers to take out the books we didn't need and went our separate ways.
Uma remembered that she had track practice the moment we reached the lockers and Carol went to her musical club to practice as well.
I waved bye to both of them since I was club-free and made my way outside to meet up with Tetsu, who was patiently waiting in the car for me.
I opened the back seat to place my bag then entered the front "Hey" I greeted him as I put my seatbelt on "Hey, how was your day?" He asked as he started the car and drove off to drop me off at home.
"It was good, we got a new student today so that was eventful."
"Oh, and how did your test go?" I sunk a little in my seat "uh it went okay, ya know how tests are" I chuckled nervously, Tetsu arched his eyebrow, clearly not believing my story but said nothing.
We arrived home and I got out, anxious to be on my bed and just relax "We home!" I called out as we took off our shoes by the door, Mrs. Urakusai poked her head out of the kitchen "Ah welcome home, how was school?" She wiped her hands on the dishcloth and hugged me, she smelled like chocolate chipped cookies "It was alright I'm just tired and can't wait to relax" I said hugging her back.
"Well dinner will be ready soon so you better change, oh and Tetsu dear don't forget to pick your sisters up" She smiled "I won't, I just came here to grab a quick bite before heading back to class," He said hugging his mom and heading into the kitchen.
"Okay dear, there are some leftovers from last night in the oven and I made some cookies, you can have them if you like" She turned to face me and gave me a sweet smile before retreating to the kitchen.
I walked past the living room and greeted Mr. Urakusai who was watching a show about fishing, he looked at me and nodded in response, and went back to his tv.
I got to my room and closed the door, man I feel exhausted, I'm so glad it's a Friday today. I tossed my bag onto my bed and flopped next to hit, the moment my body made contact with the bed I sighed in relief as my body relaxed and dunked deeper into the covers, so comfy.
I could fall asleep right now with how comfy my bed is but I need to bathe and changed into something more comfortable than a school uniform.
I pushed myself off the bed and grabbed my shorts and a tank top to change into after my bath. I ran the bathwater and while I waited for it to fill up I walked back to my room and took my phone out of my school bag.
I opened it, clicked on the group chat, and began scrolling through to find Kai's number, I eventually found it and hovered over the text box.
"Ah crap, what am I supposed to type?" I stared at the screen trying to think about what I should say, my stomach tightening with nerves "I could just say hi, that's the safest bet, but what if he doesn't answer cause he doesn't know the number" I began pacing up and down the room
Hmm, maybe I should send him an emoji but that's just weird. Maybe I should just type and keep it simple by just saying hi and tell him it's me and then add an emoji.
Should I send it with a blue heart, no can't do that that might weird him out, oh I know I can send him a flower.
I finally stopped pacing and typed down the message when my phone buzzed, surprising me causing my phone to slip out of my hands. I quickly tried to catch it before it fell and managed to grab it and sighed in relief. I turned it upright and check the screen and I died inside.
'Hey, it's Zita ;)'
"Aaaaaah! No no no, I didn't mean to send that, what do I do what do I do?" I threw my phone onto my bed and stood a few feet away from it, panic rising along with nerves.
Maybe I can delete it before he sees but then I'll have to explain what was the message I delete. Maybe he's not by his phone and it's off, ya that's plausible.
My phone vibrated making me jump once again and dread coursed through me, it's over for me, he read the message and thinks I'm a weirdo. I got to my knees and started crawling to my bed and peeked over my bed to see the text message.
Uma: 'Yo Zee!'
Uma: 'helloooo, have you sent that text yet? Do you need me to hold your hand *snicker snicker*'
I'm going to end her.
I immediately shut my phone and stomped back to the bathroom to bath, that stupid frog doesn't she know she gave me a freaking heart attack!
Once I'm done with my bath I'm going to give her a piece of my mind for scaring me like that, curse that damn frog, I'll fry her alive!

Back at the field, Uma sneezed and got the shivers.
"You okay Uma?" She nodded at one of her teammates "Ya I'm fine, just got the chills that's all" she waved it off and went back to training.

Ugh, she scared me but now I have much bigger fish to fry. I don't even know what he's going to say to the text, I hope he doesn't think I was hitting on him. Why am I even concerned with what he will say?
I sunk lower into the tub until the water covered my mouth and blew bubbles into the water. Maybe I should have just explained to him that the emoji was an accident, he seems like an understanding guy.
He'll understand, right.
Right?
I hope he does.
I'm thinking too much about this...
I submerged into the water completely and allowed the muffled sound of the water to block out the noise in my head.
The sounds of seagulls and ocean waves crashing against the rocks caused me to open my eyes and I was staring at a bright clear sky.
The smell of saltwater filled my lungs and I felt relaxed and at peace. A distance away I could see dolphins playing and jumping out of the water and it made me smile.
I should get back before mom and dad start worrying about me. I got up and brushed the sand off and started my way back to the house when a harsh wind blew picking up some of the sand, I closed my eyes to protect them so no sand could get in.
Once the wind died down, I opened my eyes and looked around, the dolphins were gone and I couldn't hear the seagulls. Matter of fact everything seemed to be a little too quiet and that made me feel uneasy at the eerie silence.
It suddenly got dark and I could feel droplets of rain, I looked up at the sky when my whole body froze and my blood ran cold.
A Walker stared down at me, its eyes glowing yellow, snarling down at me, its charcoal body dripping wet from the seawater. I tried walking away but my knees buckled and I fell over, trembling all over, the Walker immediately lunged forward and I let out a scream.
I shot my eyes open, inhaling water, and immediately sat up, coughing up the bathwater I inhaled. My whole body shook from the shock, my heart pounding against my rib cage.
What the hell was that?
Did I fall asleep?
Why did that feel so real?
I hugged my body close to stop from shaking but that vision was etched into my mind, clear and vivid.
I sat in the tub until I felt calmer and the water started feeling cold. I stepped out wrapping my body with a towel and drained out the water. I dried my body and put on my clothes and then took another towel to dry my hair with, throwing the wet towel into the washing basket.
That bath was supposed to relax my nerves but now I'm more nervous than before. I can't believe I fell asleep underwater and that dream was so vivid.
My phone vibrated pulling me out of my thoughts, I reached over and unlocked it.
