"I think it's probably a good idea, to tell your parents the school incident, hm?"
"What'd you think...?"
Amanda's eyes widened as she stared at Temi.
"You wouldn't dare...!"
Temi smirked.
"I love that spirit, but...!" Temi said as she smiled.
Then all of a sudden, the smile disappeared.
"Try me...!"
Amanda stared at Temi in surprise...
She wondered why she was so afraid of this girl...
Anytime that they were both at school...
Temi always emitted an intimidating aura...
Not that she wasn't someone that you can't relate with...
But you cannot step on her and get away with it...
You can't even step on her and get away...
The school incident...
Both, Temi and Amanda attend the same school. It was both a boarding house and a day school...
Sure enough, both Temi and Amanda were from socialite families, but it was only Amanda that was cut out to fit in into the socialite groups in school.
Being a boarder she had the liberty to do whatever she wanted and not get suspended from the school...
Having joined lots of groups in school and slowly but steadily advancing in ranks in the groups, she finally reached the highest and became the most popular, and hottest girl in school...
Although she was accorded respect from both students and teachers of the school, she always kept herself on the humble side, as she still related and associated with Temi...
She had been advised by many of her group friends to cut off ties with Temi, but she had refused, regarding her as her one and only true friend and sister at school...
Of course, once she had been ranked the 'Highest Socialite' girl in the whole school, she also attracted lots of attention and boys flocked around her...
Both the handsome, the middle class, and the ugly
She had also been ranked the girl with the most enemies in school...
Having taken the position from one of her so-called 'friends', life at school hadn't been easy for her.
There was this one boy named Chris Mahon, that almost all the girls at school were dying to date, including Amanda, but had never had the chance to even talk with him one on one...
He was the school's top and best rugby player and was very handsome at that...
He was tall, had black hair, light blue eyes that were misty and made him look like he was from the water, and although, his body was always well-hidden in his over-sized sweater, whenever it was time to go sporting, he would change into his uniform and that would reveal his muscles...
Though, he always hides his body in clothes bigger than him in order not to drag much attention from the girls to his body...
But there was this one time when he had forgotten to put his shirt on...
That day, was a day of commotion at school...
All the girls went crazy because of his eight (8) line abs...
His face was blushed as he quickly grabbed his shirt and hurried out of the school compound.
Luckily, he was a day student, just like Temi...
His firmly built physique had all the girls have sweet dreams that night, especially those that were boarders.
That night, Amanda hugged her cushion as she stared up at the ceiling...
She unconsciously smiled as she hugged her cushion and fell asleep.
The next morning, no one sighted Chris.
From the break of the dawn, to the time when they would have lessons, and then to the time of recess down to school's closing time and dusk...
He was nowhere to be found.
Though, it was only the two (2) most popular students, a boy and a girl that were supposed to date each other because of their high status in school.
But for some reason, Chris avoided Amanda.
Whenever Amanda sighted Chris, she would run away, deliberately avoiding Chris...
Running to a corner, she would hold onto her chest with her books in her hand as she would try to calm her heaving chest...
Then a happy smile would appear on her face.
Peeking from her corner, she would look at Chris, whenever he turned her way, she would hide...
Then one time, she gathered up the courage to walk up to him and introduced herself.
As she was talking, Chris directly snubbed her, and then with his boys, Chris walked away, leaving a stunned but also embarrassed Amanda as all the other girls that were there, burst out laughing, and some even spread the news...
Then one fateful day, she gathered up the courage and then taking in deep breaths multiple times to calm herself down, she walked up to Chris and introduced herself.
She was hoping to get a turn in her direction at least, right?
But she got a shocking slap in the face when Chris didn't look in her direction as he walked away and headed into the classroom.
Amanda was left mouth opened as she stood there frozen...
Hearing giggles and laughter, Amanda snapped back to reality as she discovered that all the other girls were pointing at her and laughing, whispering as they spoke.
Hurrying into the girls' room, she stared at herself in the mirror.
Her bloodshot eyes that were already teary as she ran into the toilet, were staring back at her...
After a while, she washed her face, luckily, she came with her purse.
Reaching out for it, she pulled out her makeup items and gently applied some light makeup on her face.
As she was applying her makeup, she heard some girls whispering in hushed tones, but their voices were loud enough.
"Hey, have you heard...?" One asked.
"Heard, what?" Another asked.
"Shhh, keep your voice down...!" The first girl said.
After a momentary pause, the first girl said;
"I heard that Chris got a crush on Temi, but...!"
"What!!!" The second girl screeched.
"That is why I don't like sharing this kind of news with you...!" The first girl said, sounding annoyed.
"Sorry...!" The second girl apologized.
"I'm not talkin' again...!" The first one said and was about leaving when the other girl pulled her by the arm as she apologized;
"Please, please, please...I promise I wouldn't make another sound...!"
"But you're still talking now...!" The first girl said.
The second girl pursed her lips.
When she saw that not one noise was being made, she began talking...
"I heard from some sources, I'm not gon' tell you who, but, I heard that...the real reason why Chris doesn't seem to fall for Amanda is because he's already got a crush on Temi, but...!"
"That light-skinned black girl?" The other girl asked.
"Yes...!" The first girl stressed her reply as she answered, annoyed.
"What...!" The second girl no longer kept to her promise as she screamed.
"Shhh, keep it low...that's why I don't wanna tell you anything about...!"
"Chris's not interested in her...!" The other girl said in full affirmation as she shook her head in negation.
"What'd you mean?" The first girl eyed.
The other girl stared at the first girl in front of her.
"I bet you're hallucinating...!" The other girl said.
The first one eyed the second girl.
"Madeline, I'm not hallucinating, I've never tasted drugs in my entire life...!"
"Then why would you say that Chris, the super, most duper boy in the whole school that every girl is falling for, including Amanda, Is falling for a light&-skinned black peacock...?" The second girl named Madeline said as she crossed her arms over her chest.
Massaging her forehead, the first hike said;
"Have you ever seen a black peacock in your life?"
"No, but I they exist...that's why I'm calling her that...!"
"Well, that's her problem, that, 'she' has to do with, not mine...!"
"But seriously, Madeline, I'm telling you the truth...!" The other girl said.
"When have I ever detailed you on false news...?" The first girl asked.
"Lots of times...!" Madeline had another reason to disagree with her friend.
"Name one...!" Madeline's friend said with her arms crossed over her chest.
When Madeline began listing out times when she had lied, the other girl said;
"Alright, it's enough!"
"But I was just getting to the part where you had me make a big fool out of myself by thinking Tom had 'actually' proposed to me to be his girlfriend and when I asked why he hasn't chatted me up for a week, he got confused...!"
"Well...!" The other girl said as she rolled her eyes and took a step backward.
"Hmm...!" Madeline said as she followed her friend forward.
"That was a mistake...I was only kidding with you at that moment...!" Madeline's friend said.
Madeline raised an eyebrow.
Scratching the back of her head, Madeline's friend went all like;
"Eh...well, I had no idea that you were 'actually' gonna ask him or anything...I never thought you'd take it seriously, even, so it's not my fault!" And then she turned away and folded her arms.
"Wow...!" Madeline said.
"What a horrific story...!"
"You know you actually me thinking that you weren't lying just now...!"Madeline said.
Her friend rolled her eyeballs.
"But hey, at least it worked out, right? Yes finally started dating him right on the spot and I didn't even do anything...God did it...it was fate...!" Madeline's friend said.
Blushing, Madeline said;
"Maybe..." Her voice was low as she looked away, thinking of her dream guy.
Her friend watched her with a sly smile on her face.
After she realized, did she say;
"Alright, back to Chris, Amanda and Temi...!" Madeline said.
"What you heard me say, is what I also heard too and also seen with my own two eyes...!"
"Joke...!" Madeline said.
"No kidding...!" Madeline's friend said.
"But why would Chris fall for that proud peacock?" Madeline asked.
"Why not Amanda...?" Madeline asked also.
"Aren't all peacocks proud?" Madeline's friend asked.
"Yeah, they are, why'd you ask?" Madeline asked in one breath.
"You just mentioned that Temi's a proud peacock, so I just wanted to confirm if...you knew what you were saying...!" Madeline's friend said.
"Of course I knew what I was talkin' 'bout...I just wanted to lay out my points!" Madeline stated.
You know if you're with me, I can understand anything you're talking about...!" Her friend stated.
"Why would Chris fall for Temi and not Amanda?" Madeline repeated.
"If you ask me, who am I gonna ask...?" Her friend asked back.
Madeline's hopes fell when she heard what her friend said.
"You know, I hate it when you tell me something, as in the latest news, when you're not in fact, up to date...it's annoying to hear the quarter part of the news and not ttthe full one...!" Madeline said as she turned to leave.
"Of you have any better news, then why didn't you share it with me, since you've got better sources to deets you on the latest news in town...!" The first girl said as she mumbled to herself.
Madeline stared at her friend closely for a while, before slowly lifting her eyes to look at toilet stalls.
"Let's better get out of here!" Madeline said.
"Why...?"
"I'm having a feeling someone's in here with us and is listening to what we're, but, is hiding...!" Madeline said slowly, and gently as she slowly looked around.
At first, Sarah looked around with her, but when she heard the latter part from her friend, his e couldn't help hissing as she also burst out laughing.
"Pfft, yeah, right...!" Sarah said.
Madeline looked at her.
"I'm serious...!" Madeline said.
"I never doubted you in the first place...!" Sarah said.
Madeline stared at her beforehand turning to look at the stalls.
She was thinking of walking to one of them and opening them to confirm her suspicion...
But then...
"But I guess that feeling you're having if someone being in here with us, is probably Amanda...!" Sarah snickered.
Madeline frowned.
"What makes you think that?" Madeline asked.
Looking to the left and then to the right...
Walking towards the exit, she opened it slowly and peeked. Afterwards, she returns to her friend's side as Madeline watched her with a frown on her face.
"Why are you peeking out?" Madeline asked with confusion obvious on her face.
"I have to make sure no one's eavesdropping on us...!" Sarah replied.
"We're still gonna leave this place...It's not like we're staying in here forever...!" Madeline said in a low angry tone.
Not minding her, Sarah said;
"I haven't told yo,u right? She finally mustered up the courage to walk up to him and introduced herself, but, she was snubbed off...!" Sarah said.
"She wasn't given any attention!" Sarah added.
"She? Who?" Madeline asked in confusion.
"Our precious Amanda...!" Sarah replied.
"Oh My God...!" Madeline covered her agape mouth with her palm.
"You really are slow when it comes to catching up on things...!" Sarah uttered.
Madeline shot at her a deadly glare, but it was only for a while as she asked;
"What happened, next? C'mon, gist me...!"
Sarah laughed.
"You really do love gossip...!" Sarah said.
"But like, seriously, where do you used to be when such interesting things happen...?" Sarah asked.
"First, my time with Thomas, second, the time when Amanda was seriously shamed by her own best friend, Carol, and now, this one...?"
"Jesus, I need to change my friend...!"
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait...wait a second, hold up...!" Madeline said.
"What..?"
"Amanda was shamed by Carol?" Her voice was loud enough for anyone outside to hear them.
"Shhh...!" Sarah shushed as she silently ran in the direction of the toilet door and peeked out again.
Seeing no one in sight, she closed the door and, placing her hand on her chest, she let out a huge sigh of relief.
Reaching out her hand towards Madeline, Sarah pinched her.
"Ow...!" Madeline exclaimed.
"What was that for?" Madeline asked.
"For keeping your mouth shut!" Sarah said.
Madeline glared at her as she massaged her arm, the area that had been pinched with her fingers.
After a moment of glaring and staring, pain and massaging, the two girls finally decided to leave the toilet...
With mocking voices, laughing.
"Haiz...I feel bad for our Amanda...!" Madeline said deliberately loud with a sly smile on her face.
Sarah that was silently closing the door to the toilet, shot her eyes at Madeline as she asked;
"Why?"
Not responding for a while, Madeline said;
"It's a pity, she's regarded as the school's most top babe, but she got rejected by the hottest guy at school...It's a pity, don't you think?"
Sarah smiled.
Shaking her head as she turned and walked, Sarah said;
"You might be slow at understanding, but you sure know how to understand and evaluate the situation pretty well...!"
As they walked farther and farther away, Madeline asked one more question...
"Weren't Carol and Amanda friends?" She asked as she turned to look at Sarah.
Not turning her head to look at Madeline, Sarah answered;
"Yeah, they were...and even right now, Carol still pretends to be her friend...!"
"But the real question you should be asking is...Don't you think all of these are part of Carol's plan? To deal with her?"
