Chapter 46 - To The Airport 7

As she stood there with her mind wrapped around her thoughts, her mind was still very much mindful of what was going on around her.

Samson noticed her angry gaze on Ethan, who knelt beside Olivia, checking her out, if she was okay.

"T...Te...Temi...?" Samson stuttered as he called out yo Temi. But Temi ignored his call.

All her attention was focused on Ethan as he was bent low before her.

Adjusting her black fur coat, she arranged her hair as she put on her glasses and turned, about to leave when Ethan called her back.

"Temi!" His voice sounded hard.

Pausing in her tracks, she turned slowly to look at the person that had called her.

With her glasses still on, Temi eyed Ethan from behind them.

"May I help you?" She asked with a frown as she sounded distant.

Ethan was hurt by the tone she used and he desperately felt like pulling her into his embrace and deeply apologizing, but at the same time, something stopped him from doing so as he remembered the body on the floor.

Pointing at Olivia's body on the floor and then at his face, before spreading his arms wide as he asked;

"W...What was that for?" He asked, obviously sounding hurt.

Removing her glasses as she eyed him slowly, she raised her eyes to look up at him in contempt as she asked;

"What was what for?"

"The slaps...!" Ethan pointed out.

Temi looked at him for a while as she narrowed her eyes at him. Not knowing what to do, Temi bursted out laughing.

Ethan stood there shocked.

He had asked her why she had slapped both himself and Olivia and was about you demand an apology, but she was here laughing?

Did she think that this was funny?

After laughing for a little while, Temi raised her head and looked at Ethan sternly...not without the look of disgust on her face.

"Why are you lookin' at me like that?" Temi asked suddenly as her question made Ethan flinch in shock a bit as he returned his gaze to her face.

When his eyes caught hers, he saw that she was looking at him in disgust.

When Temi was laughing, Ethan was busy admiring her gently.

Her gentle laughter was so pleasant to the ears, it had Ethan forget about the reason she was laughing...that is, 'if' he knew the reason...

But when she had asked that question, she enough everyone's mind had traveled elsewhere. But the moment she spoke, everyone's eyes snapped back into reality as they all stared at her.

Ethan analyzed Temi carefully...

She was dressed tightly from head to toe as she was covered in black.

Being the season of cold in the country, Ethan understood that Temi's Mother, Mrs. Smith was careful about her daughter's health and so had, therefore, made the selection of her clothing.

The woman was too thoughtful and way too caring...

Temi was dressed in skintight leather pants with a black tee that looked like a sweater but much more than that...

On top of that, she wore her faux fur accent coat, and dark shades, with black gloves to provide her warmth, she also had a beret on...

All black...

Not many accessories...

Just her shades were enough 'accessory' to her as she liked stunning in the all 'black' combination.

Not that she was a fan of black, but she just had to wear it because her mother made her to...

Plus, she always loved the confidence and power that it made her exude...

She always felt bold whenever she was clothed in black.

So wearing this when her mother told her to wasn't that much of a problem as she knew what she would gain from it...

Ethan couldn't remember the last time his Dad helped make a selection of clothing for him...

And that almost...

'Alright, Ethan...!' Ethan thought to himself as he brought himself back to his senses.

'This has nothing to do with you...it's not 'bout you, now get the f*ck back!' He spoke, to himself...and within himself when no one would hear...

"Why did gig gave to do that?" Ethan suddenly asked.

"Do what?" Temi asked.

"Do I always have to repeat myself every time?" Ethan asked frustratedly.

He was not happy with the cold treatment she was giving him.

He had always seen how she would give the treatment to others and had always laughed at others for about, but, never in his life had he thought that 'he' would be at the receiving end...

Plus, he had always had big dreams concerning him...and Temi...

"Do I look like someone that needs hearing aids?" Temi asked sarcastically.

Ethan was taken aback.

"I never meant that...what brought that?" He couldn't help but ask.

"Your hypocritical attitude brought 'bout this...it's 'your' fault you had to get hit...!" Temi said coldly.

Ethan wanted to say something but closed his mouth the moment it opened as he remembered...

Arguing with Temi over issues, would not solve any of your problems.

Especially if you are in. a conflict with her.

She would use you against yourself as you would be confused with yourself and begin thinking about your life all over again.

And Ethan was not ready for that now.

Seeing that Ethan had nothing else to say, she put back her glasses as she turned to walk away.

But as she did, so was called back.

"Temi!" Ethan called her back.

Chewing her mouth, Temi slowly turned as she asked;

"What!"

Raising his arms as if wanting to say something but really at a loss for words at the moment, was confusedly silent.

"Say whatever it is that you want to say...I don't have all day!" Temi's strong voice resounded in Ethan's ears as he blinked and clearing his throat, he stutteringly said;

"Um...you...I, Olivia...were..um...!"

Temi saw that standing there would be a waste of time, that it already is, so turning around, she walked away, swaying her body like an elegant model.

"Where are you going?" Ethan called back, but she didn't turn around.

Taking the risk, Ethan said;

"You haven't apologized!"

That had Temi stop.

Ethan gulped.

He knew he had crossed the border...

Hearing what he said, Temi lowered her head as she secretly smiled to herself, gently removing the glasses from her eyes as she turned around to look at him.

"Say what?" She asked.

Ethan decided to test the waters again, hands moving nervously as he spoke.

"I...I said you haven't apologized...!" He repeated.

Now, Temi could no longer hide her smile as she once again lowered her head and began to laugh, making her way towards the groups of people.

Her laughed was surprisingly so frightening to the security guards, it had them moving apart, creating a path for her to pass.

Seeing this, Temi laughed softly.

"Scared?" She asked as she looked at them.

"Awww...don't be!" She said as she slowly turned her attention from them and focused it back on Ethan. Her expression changing as her head.

When she was steps away from Ethan, she said;

"Repeat what you said!"

Ethan knew he had gone beyond his boundaries as he remained silent...

"Don't keep me waiting Ethan, talk!"

Temi said a she looked at her nails for a brief moment, as if to check if they were alright, before raising her head to look at him.

Ethan opened his mouth to say something.

"Why are you doing this to me, Temi?" He asked gently.

Temi ignored his quiet question as she turned her head the other way and repeated;

"What was it you said, Ethan?" She asked.

Ethan knew that there was nothing he could nor say that would get her to change her mind, so he lowered his head as he let out a frustrated sigh.

Temi knew that he must be feeling guilty right now...

But that was none of her business as it had nothing to do with her.

He chose his life, attitude...and she chose hers...

So they were even.

They didn't owe each other, right...?
