"You've probably not been too keen on the news lately...!"
Frowning, Troy asked;
"What'd you mean I haven't been too keen on the news lately?"
"I read this morning's news!" Troy said.
"And fortunately, unfortunately...but fortunately, what Lucas' is true...!" Troy admitted slowly.
Turning to Troy, Lucas glared at him for a while, before turning back to face his partner as he continued;
"The news today was mainly about our business...actually 'all' 'bout just us...!"
"Has there been a time, when the news doesn't carry information 'bout us...?" Troy muttered asked as he carried his phone and slowly plugged hai ear pods into his ears as he looked up to see if his little brother was looking at him...
And he was.
"Has there been a time when you have checked the news and given me "accurate' information?" Lucas retorted.
Watching his brother as he heard what his brother said, he slowly turned his eyes in the direction of his parents to see if they were looking at him.
As he shifted his eyes from Lucas to his parents, he was net by his Father's and Mother's piercing stare.
Turning his head away, he intended to avoid the gaze directed at him by his parents.
But as he turned, he met with his sister's and little brother's.
Their eyes were also so intense, much more intense than that of the parents that he shook a little.
'No wonder there was some silence...!'
Troy thought.
"Why are your eyes widened like that?" Bryan asked.
Finally coming back to his senses as he shook his head and asked;
"What do you mean?"
Turning to look up at his sister, Bryan asked;
"Aren't his eyes opened too wide Aunt Temi?"
Temi nodded as she wiped her nose with the back of her palm as she said I'm a very raspy voice;
"Yeah...your voice was a bit too raspy."
"Huh?" Bryan frowned.
"What?" Temi asked as she looked at her little brother.
"Voice too raspy?" Bryan asked as he tilted his head a little to the side.
"You asked me if his eyeballs were widened too much, right?" Temi asked.
Bryan looked at his brothers and then at his parents, before turning back to his sister and nodding.
"What's wrong, why do you gave that look on your face?" Temi asked she unconsciously wiped her face with her palm.
"All of you...!" She added.
"Is there something on my face?" She asked as she panicked a little.
Everyone knew how much Temi's facial appearance meant to her.
Plus, there wasn't anything on her face, so they all shook their heads, including her mother, who did it subconsciously.
Seeing that her mother shook her head also, Temi relaxed.
If she couldn't trust the boys, she could at least trust her Mum...
Sighing in relief, Temi asked;
"If that's what you asked, I face you the right reply, why were you all looking at me in that manner?"
"Well...!" Lucas dragged the word as he scratched the back of his head and looked the other way.
Troy tried stifling back a chuckle...
Bryan just looked ok at his sister.
When he discovered that they weren't going to tell her her mistake, he blurted;
"It seems you were confused at that point...!"
"What?" Temi frowned as she asked.
Hitting his arm, Lucas was like;
"Bryan!"
"Ow!" Bryan cried.
"Why did you hit him like that?" Their Mother asked as she unconsciously hit Lucas back.
Swooping Bryan away from the chair in which he sat with his brothers, Mrs. Smith took her sins in her arms as she placed him closed to her heart.
Bryan had already started shedding silent tears.
"Look what you've done...!" Their mother said.
Lucas geld onto his arm that had been hit as he looked at his Mother in slight shock.
"Hey, Mum, I've been hit too...!" He said.
"Yeah, but it was only just not too long ago!" Their mother replied.
"I wonder when 'I' stopped becoming the baby of the home...!" Lucas murmured.
"That started when little Bryan git introduced into the family...!"
Troy stylishly said as he slowly plugged the ear pods into his ear as he slowly looked up at his brother to see if he was been glared at...
And his guess was correct.
Because the moment he raised his head, the eyes that met him were Lucas'.
And the look was not a good one...
"What?" Troy asked.
"Do you always have to be mean to your brother Troy?" Their Mother asked.
Troy shrugged.
"I was simply telling him the truth...!"
"Well, I don't need your stinking truth, it disgusts me!" Lucas said and with that, he stood up and ran out of the room.
Pausing, get turned around, and with tears in his eyes, he screamed;
"You always love to hurt people, especially with your words...!"
"When are you ever gonna change?"
After he had said that, he hurried out of the room.
Troy only shrugged as he plugged the ear pods back into his ears and 'obviously' not wanting to listen to what anybody had to say.
"Troy...!"
Their Mother called.
Troy raised his eyes.
"Stop being mean...!"
Their mother said.
Troy lowered his eyes down to the screen of his phone.
"Troy...!" Their Mother called again.
"Mum?" Troy answered without looking up from his phone.
"I'm talkin' to you!" Their mother said sternly.
Sighing, he removed the ear pods from his ears as he kept his phone to the side and looked at his Mother.
"I'm listening...!"
Narrowing her eyes at her son, Mrs. Smith said;
"What have I told you 'bout how to speak to people? Especially when it comes to your brothers, huh...?" Their Mother asked.
"He wanted to know the truth, and I told 'em?" Troy cut in as he responded nonchalantly.
"You don't have to so mean 'bout it...!"
"Well, the truth hurts...!"
"And you're gonna apologize!" Their Mother sternly said.
Troy that had wanted to plug I'm his ear pods, now turned stiff upon hearing what his Mother said.
Mrs. Smith knew what her children loved and hated doing.
And as for Troy, it was being too mean to people, as he also hated apologizing...
So saying that 'he' should apologize, was like turning yourself into his worst enemy...
Because apologizing?
C'mon...
Mum, you should have known better than this...!
Frowning, Troy crossed his arms as he asked;
"Why'd you say that?"
"Cause you need to say it...!" Their mother said.
Rolling his eyes, Troy murmured;
"Please...!" He said.
Raising an eyebrow as she wasn't too surprised that her son would do that to her, she carefully put Bryan to his feet on the ground as she stood up and, adjusting herself properly, she said;
"Alright, get up!"
Troy looked up at his Mother with slightly furrowed brows as he asked;
"What for?"
"Get up!" His Mother repeated.
"I hope you ain't gon' force me to apologize...cause I ain't gonna...!"
"I 'said, get up!" Their Mother sternly interrupted him.
Looking at his Mother for a while as he shook his head and sighed, Troy knew that this was the dead-end for him...
But out of the respect that he had for his mother, he took his phone and was about to pocket it, when his mother stopped him.
"Leave it there, Troy!" Their mother said.
"What...?"
"I said, leave it there...!" Their Mother repeated.
"Not like it's gon' disappear, we're just gonna go upstairs and be back before you know it, so just leave it there!"
"If there are any 'important' messages that you need to receive, the moment we're back down here is the same moment you'd receive it, so don't worry!" His Mother said boldly.
"Besides, we ain't got no thieves in this house, do we now?" Their Mother asked as she turned to the little one beside her with her arm outstretched.
"Or ghosts...!" Little Bryan added as he giggled.
Chuckling at her son's silly comment, she stretched out her hand to Bryan, and after she was sure that Bryan had hooked his palm in hers, she turned her attention back to Troy.
"Right, let's go...!"
"Why to do 'I' have to be made to apologize for everything...?" Tory questioned.
" 'Because you're the one that caused everything!" Their mother said.
Troy rolled his eyeballs as he folded his arms over his chest as he murmured;
"Have you ever sorted yourself out first...?"
"What was that?" Their Mother heard him murmuring but didn't hear what he had said, so she asked.
"What I said...was...!" Troy said as he slowly answered, thinking of an excuse.
"No time to think Troy, spill it!"
Their Mother said as she guessed what Troy wanted to do as she shifted her body weight to her left leg and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Well...!"
Troy said as he slightly raised his shoulders.
"No 'wells', Troy, get talkin'!" Their Mother snapped.
Tory laughed awkwardly.
"Wells...hahahaha!"
"It's not gon' be funny when I make you apologize for this small statement now, is it?" Their Mother asked.
Troy stopped laughing and almost glared at his Mother.
If it had not been for his Father's blinding gaze, he would have probably down so.
"Lucas asked for the truth, and I gave it to 'em...!" Troy yelled.
"You don't have to be so mean 'bout it, even though, you 'are telling him the truth...!" Their mother said.
"Well, as they say, the truth hurts!" Troy mumbled, and this time, his mother heard it.
Everyone heard it.
"Well 'I' think, 'that does it...!' " Their Mother said.
"Let's go!" And with saying that, she grabbed her phone and headed for the exit, leading to the stairs.
Grumbling, Troy got up from the couch that he had been sitting on and stumped after his Mother.
"You can stump and grumble all you want, but that ain't gonna change the fact that you gon' apologize...!" Their Mother said as she worked on her phone.
"Did I 'ever' complain?" Troy asked.
Stopping in her tracks, Troy's Mother turned to face him and with an angry expression, she said;
"Ti mogba gbaeti eh? Wari ira wo!"
Troy stood frozen in his place.
He had never seen his Mother this mad before...
And threatening him...?
To slap him?
God, he must have down it 'this time!
Eyeing the person that she had turned to face, she hissed as she unconsciously dragged the little boy holding her hand, in anger as she led him upstairs.
