Third Person's POV
The sound of tapping was clearly heard as the rain's pouring down. Branches were swayed from left to right showing the power of the wind. Added by the thunder that was jarring numerous times.
But, those troublesome noises didn't bother the people that were busy with their own things. As if the extravagant room with antique and unique details was covered with soundproof wallpaper.
STAB!
A knife was thrown straight onto the dartboard. Not only once, but three times consecutively as if they're all darts. A busy typing sound was filling up the room along with the dartboard that was being stabbed by the small sharp blades. Meanwhile, a male has his eyes closed, seemingly unbothered, resting on a big brown couch that was placed by a huge antique clock.
The three males were in their own world until the ticking sound was shifted into a loud ring, startling them. As the clockwise pointed straight at six, the door was opened, drawing the males' attention. Another male walked in with his grey suit straight to the desk that was placed by the wide window, soaked a little on both of his shoulders and top of his head. Fortunately, his slicked-back hair was still neatly styled, showing that he was keeping his hair safe from the pouring rain.
"This clock always makes such a loud noise, aren't you going to get rid of it?", Aiden asked as he kept the small knives that were scattered on the mini table into his pocket.
"What can I do? It's father's"
"I just don't get that old man's taste", Aiden shook his head, "Such an old-fashioned man"
"Were you meeting the head of the White Snake League?", Leon got up from the couch and sat in front of the desk, leaning back on his chair, "How's it going?"
The male closed his eyes and sighed, "It's hard to make a deal since that thickhead of his won't compromise", he sounded pissed.
"So, we're not going to work with them?"
"No, since we are no longer need them", he said, "Their organization won't last long"
"What did you actually do?", Leon looked at him in disbelief, he knew that this friend of his might have done something.
"You were having fun without me?", Aiden came to the desk and put his right hand on it, supporting his body.
"The White Snake League is on the verge of downfall", Noel abruptly spoke while his eyes still fixed on his laptop, "Too many mice in that league, they lose pretty huge amount of money"
"Their stocks are free-falling and many other organizations terminated their contract"
"What? He's really the mastermind behind all of these messes?", Noel moved his gaze toward the desk.
"What? Who?", Aiden asked.
"His most trustworthy secretary", Noel said, "Raynold"
"You knew this all along?", Leon turned at the person that's sitting in front of him, "That's why you kidnapped him?"
"I don't particularly care about them, but since he's meddling with our work, I got no choice but to get him away as soon as possible", his gaze got intense as he looked outside the window.
"The rainstorm is approaching tonight, the basement will be filled up with water", Leon stated.
"This punishment isn't harsh enough for what he had done to our people", Aiden smirked, "Chocking them with drugs to kill the heirs of this organization? Who does he think he is? Luck doesn't come twice. I should have sliced his skin deeper than letting him dying in peace"
"Also cheating and abusing his girlfriend in public..", Leon recalled the displeasing event.
"Oh right, I forgot to tell you that your stuff has been moved to your new place", Noel walked up toward the desk, showing the tablet that showed a minimalist two-story building.
"You're finally moving out of this house? Aren't you going to have a welcome party?", Aiden excitedly asked.
"I've left this house since sixteen and I don't expect any visitors"
Leon took the tablet and looked at it, "Highwest Residence? It's close to the university"
"I'm planning on taking classes again"
"What?", Aiden had a disbelief look, "You serious?"
"But, you are also taking classes again", Noel said.
"Come on, I went there for girls", Aiden grinned while Noel looked so done with him.
"I thought you said that you're not going to continue your studies after that incident... What exactly are you planning on..", Leon had his gaze fixed toward the figure in front of him.
"Ethan?"
The widely opened window allowed the brightness to illuminate the room as the lighting stroked, showing Ethan's poker face.
"I'm the one who should be asking you guys", Noel had a serious face while looking at the three people in front of him, "You guys weren't planning on going back after that incident, but now?"
He pointed at Aiden, "You got back three months ago and the first thing you do is flirting!"
Aiden shook and tried to defend himself, "W-well, don't make me look like a bad guy, we need to have fun since we're still young"
"And you!", Noel pointed at Leon, "Well, thanks to you I can befriend Lotie, but I hope you could tell me as your brother"
"Lotie? Who's that? Is she a pretty woman?", Aiden asked, "In what faculty is she? Which year?"
"Oh, she's—", Leon's mouth was shut by his brother, "No, I'm not going to introduce you to my Lotie"
"My Lotie, huh?", Aiden smirked, "Which fool girl that actually wanna be with you?!"
"They're not even friends", Leon moved Noel's hand from his mouth.
"We are!"
"She said that you're just annoying her, and you met only three days ago", Leon stated.
Faking a cough, Noel tried to compose himself, but his ears couldn't tell lies since they are as red as a tomato, "That's just how our friendships are! And still, I won't let you two meet", Noel then walked to the couch and sat there with his tablet and started getting busy with it.
"Is he going through puberty?", Aiden mocked.
Despite all the chaos, Ethan was sitting there in silence, looking at his old friends making fun of each other. Though he didn't really care, one thing did get his attention. Fixing his eyes on the lowest right drawer of his table, a smile was curved on his lips.
"By the way, Ethan, why are you calling us here? It's not just about the White Snake, isn't it?", despite his playful side, Aiden did have a sharp sense.
Called by Aiden, Ethan then diverted his eyes from the drawer and looked back at them. He got the three males attention once again, "Yeah, I was going to let you know about this", Ethan opened the left drawer and got an envelope out.
"Isn't that the invitation to the Christmas prom?", Leon asked.
"Oh right, I also got this", Aiden said.
"All of the students get that you dumby", Noel mocked.
"Hey, I'm older than you"
"Only four months apart"
While the two of them started to bicker, Leon took the invitation and examined it, "They do this every year, what's so special about this?"
"It's the D-day", Ethan stated as the three of them looked at him.
