Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Shocking Development

Raj entered the Dojo. The receptionist smiled at him before letting him in. An ex-adventurer owned the dojo. He had retired to setup the dojo. The owner was a Grade B adventurer. His power was absolute control. He could control all the muscles in his body and be capable of incredible feats due to this.

His power also aided him to do much more than basic control over his muscles. Rumor had it that he could go toe to toe with some Grade A fighters. When he set up an MMA dojo, Raj wanted in on the action. He knew that physical fitness was the most important aspect of upgrading control over the fifth force.

He could improve his grades if he could increase his control and use of force. By having so many Syn cells he was already exercising his power. Also, one of the most discussed methods of increasing the fifth force was physical activity.

There were also special exercises for increasing the fifth force inside ones body. SPecial materials and meditation can improve ones grade slowly and steadily. Each grade above F was divided into 4 stages Low, Medium, High, and Peak. Raj wanted to break through to grade E not only in strength but also in fifth force utilization.

He made his way to the training area. He found the nearest punching bag and started his combat training by punching at it. He increased his speed gradually to a pace he was more comfortable with. Although the Syn Cells increased his defense. They were like wearing Kevlar, the pressure from the blunt force would propagate. He needed to reduce the impact that his body was feeling when he was hitting the bag.

His eyes fell on the bubble wrap sitting in the corner of the room. The bubble wrap works with the principle that the force gets dissipated through the air bubbles in the wrap. If the force is a lot, the bubble collapses protecting the material beneath it. A lattice made of equal air and metal would be able to even stop bullets. He would be able to create something like that on his skin.

It was like comparing the force to break a single stick versus a bundle of sticks. If he could transfer the force to other cells on his skin, he would be able to let it propagate across his body rather than feel the impact in a single area. He started concentrating on his Syn cells, air around him got absorbed and formed small pockets of air. These were microscopic air pockets, there was no difference in his appearance.

He started hitting the gym bag again to feel if there was any difference in the amount of pushback on his hands. He saw that the punch force meter on the bag rose by 20% since his body could now deal with more energy feedback due to enhanced protection. He proceeded to do the exercises to further improve his coordination based on his new condition. Although his defense had increased, his power was still too low for him to attack anything yet. If he wanted to improve more, he would need to increase his offense.

One of the things he could do was to convert all the energy he was absorbing. Either in the form of damage or general pressure when he was doing day-to-day activities to the energy that he can use.

A Quartz crystal has to have special properties of converting pressure to electricity. He could use it to generate electricity and if he could store it, he could shock his opponents like how an eel would be able to do.

With his head full of ideas, he went back home after his workout. He needed to do research to find out the best way to store the energy in his body. One of the things he came across was the industrial application of beast cores.

The smallest of cores cost about 15,000 credits per gram almost four times the cost of plutonium. Powdered cores used in creating batteries and advanced energy storage materials stored a lot of energy. That was one of the reasons why cores were so expensive. They broke the energy density of the old world. A small battery made of these super materials could power an entire city. This was one of the reasons nanotech became so easy to get.

These cores exposed to different types of implementations of the fifth force became perfect receptacles of that type of energy. For example, a lightning lizard core was able to store electricity better than any material known to man.

The lattice was heavily influenced by the biological properties of its host, for example, a gram of this core had enough capacity to store the power equivalent to the consumption of a city. With such crazy energy density properties, these materials were highly valued and high in demand. Them being non-toxic was a bonus on top of that.

Many energy practitioners used these cores as subsidiary batteries to store extra energies. They would sell them for energy weapons or power sources to various applications in the world.

Raj wanted to buy some of the material and store the electric energy generated in his body into the core particles and use it when he needed to shock his enemies.

He ordered for 100 milli grams of electro-core material, this was extracted from a lightning lizard and had high purity in its energy type. He also ordered the biological materials responsible for the conduction in the lizard, these thin filaments were what allowed the lizard to transmit various parts of its bodies, they almost looked like wires with insulation so that the lizard did not damage itself.

He also ordered was a collapsible baton with a reach of 4 feet made of this material, this will allow him to hit the enemies at range.

The material would arrive alongside with his order for quartz material, he started researching online on the material properties of a constructed cell from these materials. 1600 credits were almost spent in minutes, he felt deep heartache at the expenses.

The materials would arrive tomorrow morning on drone delivery and he would attempt one of the most delicate operations he ever attempted on his Syn cells tomorrow to see if he would succeed in his crazy plan.
