The events happening in the world right now are painful for everyone. We are in the middle of an economic depression, a pandemic, and a civil rights movement. Life is filled with instability, particularly in times like this. While many factors remain beyond your control and influence, your mind is the key in dealing with tough situations and facing the unknown.
Uncertainty is all around us, never more so than it is now. The current pandemic of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) has heightened economic, jobs, finance, relationships, and of course, physical and mental unpredictability. Fear and confusion can make you feel stressed, anxious, and helpless in your life's direction. It can drain you mentally and trap you in a downward spiral of constant "what-if" and of worst-case scenarios about what could happen tomorrow. However, without this storm, I'm curious about whether we would have been able to mobilize like this or not. I wonder, if not for the quarantine, would we have the opportunity to confront reality together? If we weren't pushed to the brink of desperation, would we be one in demanding for change?
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic is a double catastrophe for the world's poorest people for hitting them much harder than any other demographic. Government disaster raised systematic corruption– privileged versus underprivileged, ageism and sexism. The reality is that there is NO EQUALITY, politically.
I'm not sure if we will ever know, but it is certain that we owe it to all of the people we lost to build a better future together. It's unimaginable that is "Great Awakening" is even happening. We are becoming politically active. We are holding each other accountable. We are taking it amongst ourselves to create solutions, and we are never looking back to the times when all voices weren't heard.
In these extraordinary times, we need extraordinary efforts to fight catastrophic proportions. The pandemic demands strong collective action such as "Man Power!" Very little about our lives is constant, and while we have power over many aspects, we cannot control everything that happens. I hate to say this, but you're going to have a tough wakeup call! Hopefully, it's not too late to make the most out of your life instead of drowning in your own fear. If you are being manipulated by a powerful politician and police brutality, and treated into realizing the horror that it is, it has to be done with awareness and understanding, not in the dictatorial fashion. Be the voice that will inspire those who are unheard. Speak the truth even if your voice shakes.
