It's been about an hour that they have been sailing, and for them, it felt like a day.
"Is this really how it feels to do missions?"
"If I knew this school was so boring, I would've gone to Brawle school."
"I'm so disgusted..."
Every single minute, they were complaining about how they are so bored, how the river looks so pale. The structure of the earth has changed considerably since the beginning of the fights between humans and demons.
The most memorable fight was the battle of Graal. The battle was so ferocious, it created a worldwide earthquake that changed the structure of the continents as well as their components. Now in England, there are forests, rivers, volcanos etc.
After complaining for the next 30 minutes, it was now 7 pm, and everyone was outside looking at the night sky and the stars which illuminated it.
"It's so beautiful..." Alexa said gazing at the sky.
Jason looked at Alexa who was looking at the sky and wondered: 'I can't believe such a sweet girl would be part of evilness... Well behind a sweet face always hides a demonic beast, but not in all cases...'
Jason didn't know whether to trust her or not, although she seemed harmless that way. As they were looking at the sky, their attention was directed elsewhere. They saw something swimming in the water. The creature leapt out of the water and dived back inside.
"Dolphins!" Mitsuki cried out.
Even the bodyguards and John Luke came by to see what was going on. They all saw the dolphins and we're looking at them fascinated.
It was the first time they ever saw a dolphin from that close and at this time. Then, more and more dolphins joined swimming in front of the boat. There were now 16 dolphins swimming in front of the boat.
"It is quite normal for dolphins to swim in a group!" John Luke said trying to act smart.
"One thing that's not normal is that they are swimming at night... Or they sensed danger, or those creatures aren't dolphins." Moondust said looking for her torch.
"Wait... Dolphins don't live in this type of environment, they live in oceans, Moondust aren't we at river slake right now?" Jason asked.
"Yes, we are..." Moondust said confirming her doubts about those creatures, "stop the boat, if they're dolphins, they will continue their way, but if they are not, they will stop at the same time as us."
The bodyguard in charge of directing the boat stopped it and switched all the lights on. Suddenly, the creatures stopped, at the same time as the boat and started swimming around it. They were deep enough in the water for the people on the boat to not be able to distinguish them.
"Oh no..." John Luke whispered as he ran as far away from the edge of the boat.
Jason heard what John Luke said and he didn't like the sound of that.
"Mister Luke, what do you mean by oh no, did you fear this would happen?" Jason interrogated still looking at the creatures.
John Luke didn't answer, but one of his bodyguards found a light torch and decided to light it at one of the creatures. That way he had a clear vision of what they were.
"Mermaids!" he shouted out.
"A mermaid?"
"She is so hot"
"Hey don't be distracted we have to protect the boss!"
"A mermaid... what are mermaids doing in a river, aren't they known to be found in lakes?" Alexa asked.
One of the mermaids came close to one of the bodyguards and suddenly got out of the water and placed her arms on the side of the boat.
The bodyguard was distracted by her beauty and decided to get closer. Mitsuki didn't feel comfortable about the situation because a lot of indicators prove these mermaids to be dangerous.
"Alexa, something is wrong, although we know they are just merm~"
"I know, John Luke is still tetanized by fear despite the fact we know they're mermaids. It's like he knows why they're here..."
Moondust as well as team 70 realized how delicate the situation was except for the bodyguards. The number of mermaids was getting bigger, and the statesman's fear was getting stronger.
Suddenly, one of the mermaids put her hands on the bodyguard's face, and the bodyguard let her do whatever she wanted. The mermaid was pulling the bodyguard's head towards hers and kissed him.
There was only one problem, after a few seconds, the bodyguard was trying to get away from the mermaid, but she grabbed him tightly and pulled him in the water at one point.
It was at that point that all the mermaids started to become aggressive pulling every single bodyguard in the water. There was only team 70, Moondust and John Luke left.
"Protect the statesman!" Moondust shouted.
Team 70 directly surrounded the statesman facing the mermaids. It seemed that the Mermaids had a kind of rope that pulled the victim in the water where they would do who knows what to the poor victim.
Surprisingly, instead, the mermaids jumped on the boat, and their weird tale turned into human legs. They rushed team 70, but Jason was able to push them back by using the water bullets technique.
"Great job Jason, I can't use my power because it will damage the boat at the same time," Alexa said
Mitsuki used his long arms to punch the mermaids out of the boat and Moondust used her dust to created swords that cut the mermaid's head off.
All their efforts however were in vain, because the number of mermaids was getting higher and higher.
"Crap, we're gonna lose at his rate!" Jason cried still shooting his water bullets.
The mermaids were so much that the boat was crowded with them, there was no way they could run or hide.
"We're surrounded from everywhere," Alexa informed them.
Her power needed a lot of space and a lot of materials to be able to perform, in other words, he couldn't do anything to help but inform them of their situation.
