Chapter 18 - Chapter 17

Laria finally was able to move around and is working in her office. They were so many piled papers and problems arises. For example, the jewelry company manages by them.

"What do you mean that all the jewelry for this Winter has deteriorated?" And Laria check on each one of them. "They are all precious gems! Call the Manager"

Baron Michael nodded, and let the manager entered. he look so stressed too and his clothes are disheveled.

"Tell me, what happened?" Laria asked.

"Greetings, Lady Laria," he bowed and greeted the Lady. "While you were sleeping, The Marquis told us to use the precious stones from the Imperial Mine, and take all the gems from us, My Lady," he suddenly kneel and pleaded, "And this is what happened! Please forgive us, my lady!"

Laria's face remained stoic. And look at the gems once more.

"I have been asleep for 3 days," she paused, "Did you use magic to produce these?" he asked the man.

"Y-yes, my Lady!" and he continue kneeling.

"I told you to meticulously make every jewelry and not to use magic!" she shouted.

"But they need rushed jewelry to give the Emperor," he kneel, "Please spare me, my lady!" the Manager pleaded when the white aura is coming out from her.

"These pieces are Emerald, and is twenty times rarer than a diamond!" she shouted, "However, it has an additional non green undertones, wait---" she looked fiercer than before, "Did you pay for these gems?" she asked and gulped.

The man did not raise his head and cries.

"How much did you pay?!" Laria goes to him and look at his face. The man continue crying, "It was 500 gold. P-please just kill me my Lady,"

"Oh my gosh!" Laria was taken aback. Based on his reaction, he spend a large sum of money.

"We do not have much money, where did you---" she realized that her project fund for the Central Market and savings for her sisters has been consumed.

"Call Nathalia!" she shouted. "Fuck, I will execute you myself!" she shouted and was about to kill the manager when Baron Michael stopped her.

"All these things happened when I was asleep, how much more if I got married to a foreign nation?" she clenched her fist, "The Fordenn Marquessate will fall!"

Addressing the problem, Nathalia, the one who manages her finances, came and told her that she has now 150 gold left.

"My money! my hard earned money!" she cried. "My father does not even know he is being exploited! Why didn't you ask him for some money? My goodness!"

"My Lady, it was Consort Pamela who told us that they have nothing to do in the business and told us she won't give us a penny." Nathalia nodded.

Laria's face remained stoic. She looked at Baron Michael, her assistant and vassal and he immediately understand.

Nathalia and the Manager was shocked when their body was being enveloped by ice.

"L-lady!"

"M-madam!"

They pleaded but Laria blink. She is a woman who is graceful to others, but give no mercy to the traitors.

"Lock them up in the dungeon," They continue pleading to her. If they were firm enough, they wouldn't let her money go down the drain and plead the Marquis instead.

She was now thinking of how to replace the funds. All the other budget cannot be used because it will mean to stop the certain project. The Royal Family really is a smart ass. A lightbulb lit up in her head, and suddenly thought of her mother.

"Laria, did you know the vault of the Fordenn Marquessate?" she asked, and handed the young Laria an emerald ring, "It was hidden in the Goddess Rosana tomb."

"Goddess Rosana's tomb? isn't that just a fairytale?" she curiously asked. Her mother laughed. The wind flutter her hair, and it was a very melancholic moment.

"It's real, if you believe in it," she pointed the small forest, "A water steep fall over a rocky ledge is the Tomb of the Goddess,"

"Hmmn, okay," Laria did not take it seriously back then.

'Just because I am in a desperate situation I'm going to look for her tomb? I've been living here since I was a child and there isn't been a magical place here!' she talked in her head.

"Ow sister!" she bumped into Arianne. "Don't run like that, you've barely recovered,"

"I am fine, by the way," she looked at the maids behind Arianne and pull her off instead, "Do not follow us."

"Did you perhaps see a magical land in our manor?" she curiously asked Arianne.

"I indeed, why?" they continue walking.

"I'm looking for the Goddess Rosana tomb," she look at the window, "Everyone is talking about it. That we have that place to protect but I haven't seen it once ever since,"

"Wait, Fierre and Sierra mentioned that they've seen a magical waterfall---"

"Where are they?" Laria asked but Arianne's face look as if an ice bucket was poured in her.

"Where are they, Arianne?" Laria seriously asked when Baron Michael caught up to her.

"Lady Laria!" he was catching his breath, "There were news that they've seen Lady Tiara, Lady Fierre, and Lady Sierra in the North Mountain,"

"What?!"

As if the finance of the Fordenn Marquessate problem is not enough, Laria's unstable condition made her feel powerless. Then, a message from the Palace came.

"This is a letter from the palace." Baron Michael handed it to her. She received it but turned to Arianne again.

"Arianne, you manage the state affairs first, I'll go fetch our sisters!" she determinely asked.

"No, your condition is not yet stable! I'll go instead!" Arianne said and take her cloak.

"Arianne, you are good at managing state affairs, please," she pleaded, "I also need to see the Yuki-onna regarding on how to control Icetierre." Due to Laria's unstable condition, eversince she woke up, she was not able to hear it talk nor summon it as a little ball.

Baron Michael sighed and knew that he couldn't stop the Lady from going. Her determined green emerald eyes tells her that she will go no matter what and nag her sisters.

"Those idiots, why do they think of going there? We aren't even acknowledge as a child of Winterialle!" Arianne cried. "Please, sister!"

Laria smiled and handed the letter to her.

"Do not decline the proposal yet," she looked at Baron Michael, "And do not use the gems that the Royal Family has given us. They are all fake, wait for me,"

Arianne wanted to protest more but couldn't.

"Please come back safe and sound," she was worried because the Yuki-Onna is merciless against people not related to the Winterialle.

"We will come back,"
