Chapter 6 - Chapter Five

"Mooom...can we go to the set? Pretty please?" Avery whined as he jumped up and down on my bed.

"Avery...you can't. Sammy will be bringing you to school." I groaned, putting the pillow on my head.

He lifted it up and shouted in my face. "Mom! Please!"

"Fine! You get a few minutes then Sammy will be dragging your butts to school. Happy now?"

Avery's face lit up. "Yay! Yes! Booyah! Thank you, thank you Mom!" He said, pecking my cheek repeatedly.

"Yeah, sure. Now go take a bath."

"Mom...you need to stand up now, your alarm clock rung a few minutes ago."

I huffed. "Okay."

I stood up from the bed and slowly made my way to the bathroom. I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and curled my hair. I got dressed and headed to the kitchen. I prepared the both of them some cereals and some orange juice, gave pellets to Angel and made some coffee.

"Mom, I don't want to go to set. I don't want to see her again." Ashley said while chewing.

"Avery wanted to go so don't negotiate with me." I shrugged.

"Aves. Please?" She whined.

"Nuh-uh. I want to see Mommy."

"Ugh. Avery, she doesn't want to see you. Can we just go to school now?"

He shrugged. "Ashley, give this one to your brother." I scolded.

Ashley scowled and slowly nodded. "Yes, Mom."

I shook my head in disbelief. I hope Avery's forgiveness really made her change her mind. I really want her to be living in this house again. Not just for the kids but also for me, because I don't know how long I'll be able to keep it together. I love her too much. And Katie? I'm just using her to move on. If Sasha really does break up with John then I'll break up with her too. I don't need her. I just need Sasha and the twins.

Right after eating, I drove straight to the set. Luckily, it was a fifteen minute drive from our house so Sammy won't have trouble taking them to school later. When we arrived, people looked at me as if I just lost a relative or something but I didn't think much of it. Maybe Emily just has a weird or difficult scene or something.

Avery and Ashley ran to the main dressing room where most of us do all our make-up. I caught up with them and I noticed Ashley, Leanne and Pia were standing tall, obviously trying to scold and intimidate whoever was sitting on their hot seat. As I got closer to them, I saw Sammy also in on the conversation. They were all chewing Sasha out who was in tears. Avery looked up at me with a questioning expression but I just shrugged.

We walked together and I heard bits of their conversation.

"...the hell, Sasha?! You're telling us that one of your children just forgave you and you agree to doing this? What the eff is going on in your mind? Are you crazy?!" Ashley shrieked.

It's kinda weird seeing them talk to her. They haven't talked to her in a long time, I forgot what it looks and feels like.

Sasha sobbed and her voice cracked. We kept walking towards them. Their voices getting louder with each step.

"I don't even know what came over me. I just thought that they should all move on. Besides, Shea seems happy with her new girlfriend. Ka-Katie might be the best mother and wife that I could never be. My family deserves s-so much b-better. They're better off with her."

Leanne grits her teeth. "Will you get yourself together, Sasha! So what if they deserve so much better?! They want you. They need you! You're everything they needed. Avery gave you his heart again and just like before, you broke it. You really are selfish huh? Shea cried in our shoulders for months and she can't stay focused for one minute because of her depression! Avery trusts you again and what did you do? What did John do to you to make you leave the family you treasured for so long?! What did he do to make you agree to marry him?!"

"You're marrying him?" A shaky voice asked.

Though weak and hoarse, his voice stood out from the whole crowd. Every pair of eyes fell into his broken face with pity.

"Avery, I can explain." Sasha stood up and walked closer to him cautiously.

He put his hands to his ears and screamed. "I don't wanna hear it! You promised!"

He pushed me aside and bolted. My legs reacted before my brain could and there was four pairs of feet thundering after his. "Avery!" I shouted.

I saw him run out of the building and he made a sharp turn. I chased after him as fast as my legs could, which wasn't very hard considering my legs are twice as long as his. But his anger got converted to adrenaline, making him run faster than what I thought he could.

"Avery! Please, stop!" Sasha panted a few feet behind me.

I wiped a bead of sweat on my forehead and ran as fast as my body allowed. We've been running a while now, and my lungs burned, my legs weak and my heart beating like crazy. When he reached the sidewalk's end, he crossed the street without looking. Not even noticing the car zooming at him.

It all suddenly became slow motion. Avery getting hit and rolling on the hood of the car. Us, all screaming and shouting simultaneously, trying to stop him from running to no use. He fell to the ground with an audible thud. And we ran to him and the driver of the car.

The man was in his fifties and he didn't look mad or annoyed that he might get a record for this. In fact, he looked genuinely concerned. We all knelt by his side and looked at him, who was now unconscious.

"Oh my God, Avery!" Sasha shrieked.

I felt tears trickle down my cheek and I tried to shake him. "Avery! No. No. Leanne, call 911 please." She nodded and shakily grabbed her phone.

"Avery, stay with me. Come on, Aves." I sobbed.

Sasha put her hand around Avery but I stopped her. "Don't touch him! This is all your fault! You always cause us problems! As far as I'm concerned, you are never allowed to touch my children again!" I bellowed.

I couldn't take it anymore. Yes, I love her to pieces but this is where my love ends. I love my children more than anything. More than her. She's the reason why this happened to Avery. I had enough of her shit. I'm never putting up with her again.

It's her fault why I'm in unbearable pain.
