Chapter 1 - Lucias Brayvhart

It was a peaceful day in Regnidus, a prosperous kingdom in the east. The citizens were all going about their business and working hard, until...

*sniff sniff*

"Huh?"

A house burst into flames in the distance.

"Help!!!" An old lady's house randomly caught ablaze.

"Please call the Magic Guard! Somebody!"

The Magic Guard is a large organization made by the king to protect the royal family and the citizens from malicious magic users and disasters. They are composed of mostly nobles and clergy. Their magicians are the strongest in the kingdom.

"No need for the Magic Guard, ma'am!"

A boy about 16 years old, with black hair and red eyes swiftly appears before the enflamed house.

"It's Prince Lucias Brayvhart ," said the old lady and nearby citizens.

Lucias smiles and his eyes beam with confidence.

"It'll only take a minute ma'am."

Lucias runs forward and jumps up onto the roof. He begins to focus his magical energy. A black aura begins to come off of Lucias. It begins to spread from his body, to his blade, and then the flaming house.

"Dark Magic: Black Osmosis!"

Lucias's dark magic spreads around the entirety of the burning home and completely absorbs the flames. He jumps down with a smile on his face.

"There you go ma'am, house saved."

Lucias is taller than the old lady, so she pats him on the leg instead of on the shoulder.

"As expected of the Young Prince of Regnidus. You came to my rescue so quickly, that the house and my belongings are safe. As safe as they can be anyway."

Lucias turns around and walks away while waving. "If you don't mind ma'am, I'll be going now."

A tall man teleports in front of Lucias. He is wearing expensive looking red, white, and gold colored garments, a golden necklace around his neck, and a band on his arm that has a crown on it.

As he looks down at Lucias with a stern expression, his spiky golden hair flows in the wind.

"Father," exclaimed Lucias caught off guard by the king's appearance.

The king sighs and scolds his son. "What did I tell you about doing the magic guard's job? They literally get paid to do this, but some kid has been getting in their way."

Lucias frowns and begins to retort. "If I was nearby, why wait for them, when I'm perfectly capable?"

His father points behind Lucias. Lucias turns around only to see the leader of the magic guard, Diabel, with his signature black and white robe and distinctly shaped blue hair.

"It's been awhile your majesty, and... the insolent prince."

This insult makes Lucias mad. However, he doesn't engage in conflict because he's already in trouble.

"We do not make people wait. We are where the danger is. I commanded my squadron to watch you, instead of stopping you." Approaching Lucias, Diabel looks down at him, his expression displaying how much he disapproves of his actions.

"Whatever, I'm leaving." Lucias turns away from his father and Diabel, leaving the scene with a sour expression.

The king and Diabel sigh in unison, as the magic guard squadron watches them awkwardly.

"Leone. What are you gonna do about that child? He's way too rambunctious. His little superhero act could land him in deep trouble one day."

The king tilts his head back, covering his face, feeling ashamed as both a father and a king, as well as unsure what to do about his son. "I know. It's hard to talk to him, unless it has to do with training. It's all I ever see him do."

Diabel chuckles slightly. "Who would've thought? The perfect king can't handle his 15-year-old son."

The king looks at his friend, not amused about being teased. "Sometimes I wish he was more like Luxia. Lucias may be stronger as of right now, but there isn't the tiniest bit of wisdom in that head of his."

Leone lifts his head up proudly. "Yes. Luxia has returned from his trip to Danahria."

When Lucias teleported, all he did was move around the nearest corner, into an alleyway.

He raises his eyebrows upon hearing the name "Luxia".

"Luxia's home? What? Since when, " whispers Lucias to himself.

Curious to see how his younger brother is doing, he quickly teleports to the castle.
