As of right now, the king is slacking off in a tavern with his friend, Diabel, leader of the magic guard. He made a wager on his royal mantle that he could successfully be a cook for one shift. And currently, he is losing that bet.
"Leone! I need that Rib-eye and Herb Rice for order #235, and I need it now!" Yells the owner.
"I can't make the steak cook any faster! The rice is cooking slow too," says King Leone. The king is frustrated as he tries to manage the grill with his nonexistent culinary prowess. Diabel is watching from a seat at the bar, laughing fervently. He begins to draw out a phrase in the air with his right index finger. If you cover the rice, it'll raise the temperature. He conjures the phrase into physical being with magic and blows it toward his struggling friend.
The king sees the magic writing and acts as if an amazing idea pops into his head. "Oh, I know! I can just cover the rice!" At that same moment, the king felt a specific sensation course through his head, a familiar one at that. A signal. One that can only be shared between members of the Brayvhart bloodline.
The Brayvhart bloodline has special traits and abilities. Some are specific to them, others aren't. The signal, is one of the specific traits. There are other traits such as Enhanced Mana Control, Mana Seal, Mana Release, and Mana Form Change (which allows one's mana to take on multiple elements).
After feeling the sensation, the king drops his spatula and spoon. He turns toward the tavern owner and Diabel with a dead serious look on his face. "Diabel, it's Himura." At hearing these words. Diabel loses his composure, quickly standing up from his seat and slamming his fist on the bar table. "You can't be serious? Should I summon the rest of the Magic Guard?" The king waves his hand at Diabel in a motion which tells him to calm down. "No. I shall handle it. I have become stronger since our last encounter 10 years ago." The smell of burning meat fills the tavern. The tavern owner goes to yell at the king but he teleports away, leaving the cooking area in disarray.
*Back to the castle*
Himura starts tapping his foot out of boredom as Lucias and Luxia anxiously wait for the king to arrive.
"Alright. I'm done waiting." Lucias unsheathes his katana, ready to charge full force at Himura. Himura senses the change in Lucias's aura and opens his eyes out of curiosity. "Hoho? Tired of waiting, are you? I feel the same." "Brother! You know you can't win," exclaims Luxia. Lucias completely ignores his brother. After all, depending on the true intentions of Himura, the kingdom could be at stake. Lucias enters his sword-fighting stance, and teleports, appearing behind Himura. "Teleportation? He's taught you well, hasn't he?" Lucias goes in for the attack. He quickly focuses his mana at the tip of his blade. "Dark Magic: Black Thrust!" Himura blocks the attack by covering his forearm in a strange, but strong crimson mana. The shockwave from the attack creates an immense gust of wind. "Hmph. Not bad for a child. But now, it's my turn!"
Lord Himura yells as he unleashes his mana, which blows back Lucias. "Damn. He's so strong," says Lucias. Refusing to give up, Lucias stands his ground, reassuming his fighting stance. "I'll show you, the power of a Lord!" Lord Himura concentrates his mana into his hand. This terrifies Luxia. "It looks like a star!" Lord Himura holds up a massive ball of strong mana. He then condenses it into his fist and charges at Lucias. "Sorry kid, but this one will hurt!" Lucias prepares to counterattack with his own magic, but he's too slow. "So fast," says Lucias. The punch from Lord Himura makes contact his Lucias's blade, shattering it into a thousand pieces. The shockwave launches him back, slamming him into one of the pillars atop of the castle.
Lord Himura laughs. "What kind of counter was that? Usually those who can teleport are fast, but you're so slow." He turns toward Luxia with a sinister look on his face. "Would you care to give it a try, Luxia?" Terrified, Luxia looks away from Lord Himura. "That's enough, Himura," says an unknown voice. The king, Leone Brayvhart, appears right in front of Luxia. The king summons a gust of wind to bring Lucias down from the pillar. "You got pretty beat up, huh?" He places Lucias in Luxia's arms and places his palm on Luxia's forehead. "I'll talk to him later." He teleports the twins away from the scene.
Now just only Lord Himura and the king remain. "What took you so long, Leo?" The king angrily made a fist. "Do not call me by that name. I shall defeat you here and now." Lord Himura scoffs. "There is no way YOU could beat ME! You aren't even real royalty!" The king removes his sword from its sheath. "I will end this back and forth, Himura." Lord Himura smirks. "As if I'd ever back down." The king gathers his mana and unsheathes his second sword. He envelops one in wind magic and the other in light magic. "Combination Magic: Twin Swords!" Lord Himura removes his scythe from his back and imbues it with his mana. "Death Art: Crimson Scythe!"
Seemingly moving at the speed of light, the two mages make contact with their weapons. The shockwave from the impacts is strong enough to shake the sea. "You will pay for your misdeeds, Leo!" The king grunts. "I told you not to call me that!" The king's mana explodes, increasing the size of his Twin Swords tenfold. They become so big that they can be seen clearly from afar. The king yells as he overpowers Lord Himura. "I'll guide this kingdom as it's leader and make it a place where all can live safely and happily! I'll do anything to achieve that goal." Lord Himura smirks at the king as he tries to push back. "Just as non-standard as usual, huh." Almost reaching his limit, the king ups his mana output, knocking Lord Himura down to the ground. The impact of his body hitting the ground forms a crater. The king teleports to the crater to speak to Himura.
The king squats to look Himura directly in his eyes. Himura looks away. "Himura. Please, leave my kingdom. Unless you want to have a mature and diplomatic conversation, do not come back." Himura spits at the king, and he dodges it in disgust. "You know, if you didn't want to fight me, you could have declined." The king realized that he didn't think of that and clears his throat in embarrassment as he gets up and starts to walk away from Himura. "Just leave, please." Himura lies in the crater, looking up at the beautifully serene, blue sky as the clouds seem to move ever so slowly. He sighs. "That Leo, always getting the best of me." He puts his fist up to the sky. "One day, I'll avenge you. You can bet on it, Maria." As he rests his arm, he falls into a state of unconsciousness.
