The next morning Kara was currently sitting in a hospital room filled with gifts, flowers, and balloons for the long silver-haired individual lying in the hospital bed currently unconscious. After a few more minutes another blonde woman came strutting in with a big bag that said "Get Well" on it.
"Uggghhh, I dread coming to hospitals, but I am dreading Leslie's new Katty Perry look even more. How much longer do we have to be here?" Cat complained as she sat next to Kara who had an upset expression due to Cat's comment.
"You don't mean that do you?" Kara asked with disbelief,
"No, I'm quite serious. Plus I am a huge germaphobe so all this is not helping your case," Cat responded before getting up and leaving. Kara just let out a deep sigh because she knew that even though Cat was acting like this. Deep down Cat cared about her employees because she was paying for the room and covering the medical cost so she just followed Cat out of the room. Once they walked out of the room the lights inside began to flicker repeatedly before going back to normal. Back at Kara's apartment, Alex and Eliza were currently preparing for their thanksgiving lunch. Alex went to go sit next to the T.V. so she could turn up the volume so she could hear about how the news people were complementing Supergirl's heroic deed from the night before.
"Can you please turn that off," Eliza asked while chopping some vegetables,
"I'm still watching it," Alex responded before turning her attention back to the T.V. Eliza let out a deep sigh before putting her knife down in a rough manner. Alex just smiled finally getting the reaction she was preparing for so she turned her attention back to her mother.
"There it is," Alex said after turning off the T.V. she got up and began walking toward Eliza.
"I just don't understand why you didn't stop her from revealing herself to the world," Eliza asked with a stern tone,
"She has done amazing things and has saved countless lives in these past months," Alex retorted.
"Yes and I'm proud of her for all of that but she is also putting herself in greater danger than everyone else. That is what I am worried about and you should be too," Eliza complained. Alex just let out a scoff,
"What is that supposed to mean Alex?" Eliza asked with a stern tone and Alex just chuckled.
"Kara is an Adult and she will do many things that you don't like. Which I repeat is not my fault, so you can't keep blaming everything she does on me," Alex retorted.
"Unlike you, Alex. She has only been here for twelve years and still thinks deep down everyone still has good in the. You know better and you shouldn't have let this happen... I thought I could count on you to watch over her. " Eliza stated.
"You are right, I do know people better. I just wished I didn't..." Alex was about to finish her sentence but decided it was better not to and just turned around to grab her jacket.
"I just remembered that I have important matters at work to attend to," Alex said before leaving the apartment. Right, when Alex opened the door she was surprised by who was standing on the opposite side.
"Uh... So is this a bad time?" Johnathan said while scratching the right side of his cheek and holding some groceries.
"No not at all, Johnathan. Alex was just leaving to work because she had matters to attend to. You can come in and help me with the prepping," Eliza said with a smile and Johnathan looked at Eliza and then back to Alex. He heard the whole conversation on the other side of the door so it was a bit more awkward atmosphere than he could handle.
"That sounds great, but I will accompany Alex to her workplace first and come back to help you out, Eliza. I have always wanted to see Alex's workplace and see how she operates." Johnathan replied before setting his groceries down next to the counter and following Alex out of the apartment complex. As they were walking Johnathan kept taking glances at Alex to the point of annoying her,
"Whatever you have to say just spit it out," Alex said with some malice and gave Johnathan a side glare.
"Sheesh, I'm on your side here, Please no friendly fire," Johnathan pleaded with his hands up in a surrender fashion. Alex just shook her head in frustration,
"Would you like to talk about it?" Johnathan asked while pulling out two cans of Dr. Pepper with a smile. Alex looked at Johnathan with disbelief for a moment before a smile broke out making Johnathan smile even brighter.
"Yes, I knew you couldn't resist the might of Dr. Pepper," Johnathan said while handing one over to her.
"No, it was the stupid expression on your stupid face," Alex said before popping open the soda and taking a sip.
"That is quite harsh. I actually like my face and so do a lot of other people," Johnathan said while sulking, which earned him another set of laughter from Alex. Alex began to vent to Johnathan on the whole trip to her workplace about how she can never gain approval from her mother, and how stressful it has been because of the supposed responsibility that she has been given.
"Like, I don't even know if I'm supposed to live my life my way or live it watching over Kara. It's like I don't even have a say in it anymore," Alex vented before finishing her drink.
"At the end of the day, we all live our own lives and we shouldn't let people intervene unless it is for the purpose to help strive for us," Johnathan replied and Alex nodded in agreement.
"But it is nice to keep family and friends close. Just try to keep their opinions at arm's length so that it doesn't affect you as much and its shows that you are still keeping it out there." Johnathan added.
"I just hope that my mom realizes that too. Kara is an adult now and she doesn't need her big sister around here twenty-four seven," Alex said,
"I'm sure your mother will realize it sooner or later, but it is nice to have a sibling around when you need it though. Plus the right company is always nice to have, like this one," Johnathan said while pointing at himself, which earned him a shove from Alex.
"Yeah, right. Only when you are in town and not gone for six months on in god knows where," Alex retorted while chuckling. Johnathan tried to retort but after thinking about it he just shook his head and nodded. The conversation between them continued until the sun began to set and then out of nowhere, there were multiple flashes followed by screams plus vehicles crashing into each other. Alex and Johnathan both began running toward the commotion and helped evacuate the people around the area. Soon officers came onto the scene and began to organize a safer evacuation route for everyone too.
"Johnathan, stay here and help the officers. I'm going to check out what is going on." Alex said before running off and leaving a helpless Johnathan.
"What do you mean, aren't you just a Bio-engineer?" Johnathan shouted out to her as she ran off and once he couldn't see her anymore, Johnathan just shook his head while smiling.
"These sisters have too much in common when it comes to being a hero," Johnathan said to himself before taking off as well. It took Alex a couple of minutes to make it to the scene, and the scene in front of her was just devastation. She began to look around for anyone that was underneath debris or people that needed emergency assistance. After helping out a couple of people, Alex noticed that the damaged street lights were still sparking like crazy but also the sparks were flowing unnaturally toward a particular area.
"What in the world is going on?" Alex said as she pulled her pistol out of its holster and began walking stealthily toward the area. Once she got close to the area, Alex quickly hid behind some cover before peeking out to see who was responsible for all of this destruction. There was a woman with silver hair and blue electricity flowing around her body. The woman's getup was that of a punk-rock type which was quite imitating with electricity flowing around her. The woman looked as if she was absorbing the sparks from the damaged lines and anything else that required electricity. While this was going on the weather began to change as well, clouds began to form above the area and rain droplets began to fall upon the ground. The rain was not hard but yet not soft as well, so this was perfect sneaking weather.
"This is very thrilling! I can feel the power flowing into my veins and body! I can get used to this euphoria of feeling!" the silver-haired woman shouted while electricity was surrounding her. Alex was shocked to see another meta-human appear within the city, but what was even more surprising was that this meta was Leslie Willis currently wreaking havoc on the city. Alex began to take pictures of Leslie for further studies and when she was done Alex called Hank.
"Hank," Hank answered while photos appeared on the big monitor in the D.E.O headquarters.
"I have just sent you photos of a new meta-human and she is currently destroying the city. Where do we go from here?" Alex responded. Hank began to think for a moment,
"You have permission to engage with non-lethal weapons, there is a drop box near your location. It should have everything you need in it." Hank stated.
"When did we get drop-boxes?" Alex asked,
"When our main sponsor presented it at the last meeting and it made a great amount of sense for everyone as well," Hank replied while thinking back on the meeting. Alex left that conversation for later and made her way to the drop-box, which was disguised as a mailbox but had a small D.E.O. logo on the side of it. She searched for a button on the side of it as Hank advised and once she found it, Alex pressed it to reveal a number pad for her to type in her code. Once she punched in her code, the mailbox opened up from underneath revealing a set of clothing and non-lethal weapons. Such as a stun baton, one dart pistol with one clip of tranquilizers, and another pistol with rubber bullets. Alex grabbed everything within the mailbox before making her way into an alley to put on the set of clothing and attach the weapons to her holders. After making sure everything was set, Alex made her way back out and found a good high position to take a shot with the dart pistol so she could try and end it with one or two shots. Alex made it to the second floor of a building with the corner of the building destroyed,
"Why does this feel very convenient?" Alex thought to herself as she got into position, but she shook it off before aiming at Leslie with the dart pistol. Alex took a deep breath in before letting off two shots and breathing out simultaneously. Leslie was hit with both darts and fell to the ground along with the electricity dying out around her as well. Alex stayed hidden for a couple of moments to see if Leslie was indeed knocked out. Leslie began to let out a sinister laugh before getting up,
"I can see that you are well trained because you are cautious. Anyone else less experienced would have come up to me thinking that what they did worked. But you can stop with these darts, they don't work on me just like any other tranquilizer. If you want proof, you can ask those doctors and nurses that tried to sedate me. Oh, wait never mind because they are all now ashes." Leslie stated while looking around for the attacker. Alex stayed hidden but was peeking out just enough to keep an eye on Leslie's movements and aimed the dart pistol at her once more. She shot another three times but this time Leslie was ready for it and created an electric field that disintegrated the three darts.
"I enjoy a good cat and mouse game," Leslie said before shooting a bunch of lightning bolts around the area. Alex stealthy moved from her spot to another but then was almost hit by a lightning bolt. She turned around to go another way but was stopped by another bolt.
"You know what is weird? I never realized how much electricity humans gave off without realizing it. Granted it is just a small amount, but when you can feel any and all electricity it is quite easy to pick up if there is only one person running around," Leslie said with a laugh.
"Fuck!" Alex spat before standing up and facing Leslie.
"Who do we have here?" Leslie asked with a smile. Alex began walking closer to Leslie and pulled out a badge with the D.E.O logo
"Under the Authority of the United States Special Service, I will be taking you into custody so that we help you understand your newfound abilities and help keep everything in control," Alex stated before pulling out special handcuffs that nullify any alien or meta-humans and walk toward Leslie.
"Well, if you insist that you can help me then I guess you give me no choice," Leslie said as she put her wrist together for Alex but once the cuff came close to Leslie's wrist,
"Sike!" Leslie said with a sinister smile and shot a lightning bolt at Alex who anticipated the attack so she rolled to the left side before the bolt could hit her. After getting her posture back, Alex quickly shot off four shots of her non-lethal pistol with the rubber bullets. The rubber bullets made an impact on Leslie's body making her kneel but she shook it off and began to generate more electricity. Alex quickly got up and ran behind some cover just in time before two lightning bolts flew passed where she just was. More bolts began flying toward Alex's position but she was able to shoot a couple more rubber bullets that broke Leslie's posture and the damage began to build up.
"Okay! You are really pissing me off now, little bitch!" Leslie shouted before bringing her hands together in front of her chest. In just a few seconds a basketball of electricity formed within Leslie's hands,
"This should be enough to fry your entire system!" Leslie said before aiming at the ground but before she could slam it to the ground Leslie was knocked off her feet and sent flying into a wall. Alex peeked out from her cover and noticed a blonde woman wearing a dark blue long-sleeve shirt with red outlines. She had a red skirt and a medium size s on her chest,
"Kara," Alex said softly and Kara took a quick glance at her sister before focusing her attention back on Leslie.
"Ah! Just the woman I wanted to see. The mighty Supergirl! I don't know if I should thank you or curse you for making me like this." Leslie said as she walked out the hole in the wall.
"Leslie, you need to calm down and let them take you in. They can help you with whatever is going on and maybe even cure you." Supergirl said while floating closer to Leslie.
"Why would I listen to you, when you are the one who got me here in the first place? Don't you understand that many people have said one thing and done the opposite?" Leslie retorted and shot two lighting bolts at Supergirl. Supergirl flew toward the bolts and dodged them by barrel rolling but Leslie wasn't going to go down easy so she raised her hands toward the other light poles to absorb more electricity. Supergirl closed the distance and began to fight Leslie in close combat due to not wanting to deal with the lighting bolts. Leslie who just got these powers and was just a radio host didn't know how to fight so the only thing she could do was imitate what she had seen on the internet. Supergirl was able to dodge and parry all of Leslie's attacks while making counter-attacks against the amateur Leslie. Leslie was not able to land a single hit against Supergirl which frustrated her to the max. Supergirl felt like she was bullying Leslie but she knew that Leslie needed to be stopped before anyone else could get hurt. Supergirl was about to finish the fight, but due to her overconfidence, Leslie was able to land a right hook to Supergirl's face and the punch was filled with electricity that packed quite the punch. Getting caught off guard, Supergirl lost her balance and Leslie took that chance to pounce upon her. Leslie was able to get the full mount on top of Supergirl and began raining down punches. Supergirl used her arms to protect herself from the punches and put her right foot on the outside of Leslie's left leg. Supergirl caught Leslie's left arm mid-swing and pushed Leslie's right chest while pulling down on her arm. Supergirl was able to reverse the position and began raining down her own punches as revenge. Leslie took a few big hits and began to see spotlights but she could feel the electricity healing her slowly so Leslie knew that she could keep up if she played it smart. Leslie created an electric field around her body that blasted Supergirl off and quickly got up. Supergirl recovered in the air and used her super-breath to knock Leslie back so that Supergirl could catch her breath. After recovering from being rag-dolled, Leslie looked to the side and saw the person who attacked her in the beginning and decided to let out some steam by disintegrating the woman. Once Supergirl caught her breath she noticed Leslie aiming at someone behind cover just a few meters away. Supergirl used her x-ray vision to see who was behind the cover and realized that Alex was still in the area, so she flew quickly toward them before Leslie had a chance to shoot off the ball. Leslie charged up a big electricity ball and then used the lighting chain to unleash a big attack that Supergirl couldn't dodge because Alex was still behind her so Supergirl stood her ground to take the attack head-on. Once the lightning chain hit Supergirl, she let out a loud grunt and felt immense pain that she never felt before but what was worse was Leslie laughing sinisterly. Alex noticed that Kara only took the attack head-on because Alex was still there and on the battlefield. Alex felt helpless but knew she needed to get away so that her sister could fight properly, so Alex quickly made her escape but it didn't go unnoticed. Leslie saw Alex trying to escape so she charged up another bolt and shot it toward the fleeing Alex. Supergirl noticed where Leslie was looking and turned that way as well. Supergirl saw the evil grin on Leslie's face and knew what was going to happen but her body was numb and not listening to her orders. All she could do was shout at Alex,
"Dodge!" Supergirl shouted to Alex who turned around and saw a lighting chain heading her way. Everything was in slow motion for the trio, One person was excited about destruction, another person was in pain stricken at the thought of a loved one getting hurt, and one person was ready to accept the taste of death. But there was one person who just made it to the battlefield and this person was ready to take on the world to change everything that seem fit for his selfishness. A red and silver armored figure appeared right next to Alex and this person put their hand out to block the lightning chain. Once the lighting made contact with the red figure's hand instead of shocking the person the electricity was absorbed by this person. Leslie was astonished for a moment before a devilish smile appeared on her face,
"The infamous Kabuto makes his appearance! I always wanted to interview you and meet you. I guess better late than never," Leslie said as she began walking toward Kabuto. Supergirl was still trying to recover from the big lightning attack that she took,
"Even though Alex is safe, Kabuto is not a good choice either. I don't know what his intentions are but I need to recover quickly," Supergirl thought to herself as she began to look around for a crack in the clouds so she could fly up to get some help from the sun. There was a slight sunshine ray that appeared just a few meters away and Supergirl used the rest of her strength to fly toward it. Leslie noticed Supergirl trying to fly away,
"Excuse me, Kabuto but I need to finish off a little birdie before I give you my full attention," Leslie said before taking aim at the hurt Supergirl in the sky, but before Leslie could charge anything up she could feel someone put their hand upon her shoulder. Leslie turned around to see who it was and could only see her reflection off of the sky-blue visor,
"Just to let you know in advance I don't particularly hit women for no reason but since it seems that you are causing so much destruction and hurting my precious people. I can make this an exception," Kabuto stated.
"What in the world are you talking about?" Leslie asked but Kabuto just shook his head before pulling his right fist back and unleashing a swift right cross knocking Leslie off her feet. She flew a few meters and tumbled a couple of times before a broken piece of a building broke her momentum.
"Looks like there won't be a chance for you to escape," Kabuto said as he cracked his neck side to side and cracked his knuckles before walking toward Leslie. Leslie had a hard time getting back up,
"Holy shit, he hits harder than Supergirl," Leslie said as she struggled to get up but then it hit her that Supergirl was holding back while Kabuto wasn't. Kabuto sprinted toward Leslie who quickly shot off a couple of lightning bolts at him. Kabuto pressed the button on the left side of his belt,
"Clock up!" the zecter uttered and Kabuto's figure disappeared from Leslie's sight. She knew that he was trying to get close so she created an electric field to keep him away while she heals up. But that thought was extinguished by an attack that sent Leslie flying once again although this time she was ready and used her electricity to cushion her fall. Kabuto was standing next to her when she landed which startled Leslie making her flustered but she quickly recovered and tried to punch him. Kabuto easily dodged all of her punches and grabbed onto her arm in the last punch. He turned his back toward Leslie while holding her arm and kicked his left leg back to lift Leslie up into a judo flip. Leslie was thrown onto the ground hard and Kabuto quickly pinned his knee behind her back while bending her arm as well.
"Bring me the cuffs quickly," Kabuto ordered while looking at Alex who recovered from her shock and ran over to cuff Leslie. As soon as Alex got close enough to give Kabuto the cuffs, Leslie let out a shout before turning into a formless body of electricity and making an escape.
"Damn, she got away," Kabuto said with a sign before standing back up. Just then Supergirl came flying back in and flew right into Kabuto sweeping him off his feet. Supergirl smashed Kabuto into one of the debris and threw a right cross to his face, but Kabuto slipped the punch by inches before smashing down on her left arm to break free from Supergirl's grasp. Then using his shoulder and side to push her away, but she quickly recovered her fighting stance.
"Wow, I can't say that wasn't the nicest greeting but it wasn't the worse," Kabuto said while he wiped off the dust on his armor.
"Why are you here and after my sister?" Supergirl asked with her guard still up.
"Please if I was after your sister, you wouldn't be able to stop me. Just like how your cousin keeps losing sight of me," Kabuto replied while walking closer but he noticed Supergirl's eyes began to glow white so he stopped in his tracks.
"If you weren't such a coward then maybe I would show you some more respect," Supergirl stated
"I think we both know that there are bigger problems out there at the moment than your vendetta against me," Kabuto retorted.
"No! I need you to pay for what you did four years ago. What you did caused someone special to me to suffer something that no one should have to go through!" Supergirl shouted with rage and rushed Kabuto. They both were engaged in a battle of strength with both hands locked together, at first both of them were equal but then Supergirl began to slowly push Kabuto back.
"You don't think that I look back at the incident and repent for what I allowed to happen! If you think I am some type of cold-hearted killer that has no emotion, then your world is about to be shattered. Plus if they did what I told them to do then maybe they wouldn't have become casualties that day," Kabuto retorted. Supergirl's rage skyrocketed after Kabuto's last words entered her ears and all she could see was red while her main target was Kabuto. Supergirl threw a barrage of punches at Kabuto while he was either parrying or dodging. Kabuto could feel that Supergirl wasn't holding back anymore and he began to laugh which irritated her even more.
"Clock up," the zecter uttered as Kabuto pressed the button on the left of his belt and his figure disappeared from Supergirl's vision. Soon she was on the receiving end of attacks and being thrown around like a rag-doll.
"You need to calm down, if you continue to use your rage then you will burn yourself out and possibly hurt yourself in the process," Kabuto said as he came to a stop in front of a downed Supergirl. But it fell upon deaf ears because Supergirl lost consciousness and is now running on auto-pilot. Supergirl pounced on Kabuto knocking him down to the ground and she quickly mounted him to rain down multiple heavy hammer fists. Kabuto could feel the power behind each punch and the armor around his arms was getting a beating. Kabuto pushed down on her hips and pushed up with his hips so that Kabuto could get his legs underneath Supergirl's legs. Kabuto's legs crossed each other creating an X under one of Supergirl's legs and he held onto the other before leaning over to push her over. Once Supergirl hit the ground, Kabuto quickly got up to his feet and distance himself from her but she began shooting her laser beams at him. Kabuto began running around to avoid the beams but at the same time gathering Ki into his hands,
"Looks like we are gonna have to duke this one out, luckily I've been learning acupuncture on the side," Kabuto thought to himself before rushing toward Supergirl,
"Black Tortoise Flood Gate 2 open," Kabuto uttered as he ran and a thin black aura began to cover him. Supergirl flew toward Kabuto as well and once the two made contact a slug fest insued. After a few moments of intense punches that were sending shockwaves with each impact, Supergirl finally dropped down to her knees and fell over while Kabuto stood hunched over trying to catch his breath.
"God damn, how can this woman hit so damn hard," Kabuto said while breathing heavily. He then fell down to one knee because his body was damaged beyond the norm and he noticed that there was cracks forming around the armor. He just shook his head and began laughing,
"You should probably take her to your headquarters to get patched up," Kabuto said while he turned toward Alex who was slowly sneaking up to him.
"I can do that after I restrain you and take you along with us," Alex said while Kabuto just let out another heavy sigh,
"Because I can hear the sirens coming and if they get a hold of Supergirl then you are gonna have a lot more trouble to deal with, right," Kabuto said before slowly getting back up.
"Besides if the Man of Steel can't catch me, then what makes you think you can?" Kabuto retorted before pressing the button on the left of his belt and dissapearing from Alex's sight. Alex took one look at Supergirl before shaking her head and grabbing Supergirl so she could leave the area.
"Mom is going to kill me," Alex said before calling for transport.
