Present-day,
Jane looked at Henry was tidying himself up. The man was about to hurry to leave Jane back alone. Even though last night they both had let go of missing each other.
"Perhaps, I can't come tonight," Henry said when he had put on the black suit he'd just buttoned up.
While Jane was sitting by the window wearing a nightgown, she bent one leg. Jane put her face on her back as she wore an even expression when Henry said that to her.
Henry gave Jane a peck on the forehead then the kiss went down to Jane's lips. He crushed it gently and slowly after that, he cupped Jane's cheek and looked into Jane's beautiful blue eyes.
"I promised you that I would make you happy. Jane? You can be angry with me, but I still love you, and you are my wife," Henry said reassuringly.
"Huh, it's so weird to hear you talk like this. That woman is also your wife, Henry. We shouldn't have to meet again and be able to live each other's lives," Jane held Henry's hands so they wouldn't touch her face anymore.
"I got married for one reason, and you know it! Why did you suddenly leave that night? I was looking for you, and you didn't give me any news!" Henry was trying to come up with another excuse.
"It's all because I know that I can never be by your side as your wife, Henry! I'd better back off before something more painful happens to me! Enough with everything!"
This time Jane let go of Henry's grip. She turned her gaze to the side of the bedroom window.
"I don't want us to argue about this anymore," Henry rose from his seat.
"I'll make sure you stay happy, and I'll make sure it's all my way," said Henry a little firmly. Then he looked back at Jane was still looking away,
"I love you, Jane. I will love you forever."
Henry had quickly left the apartment. No more words of farewell or farewell came out of his mouth.
Jane looked down the side of the bedroom window. Henry's red Volvo had left the side of the road.
Jane returned to her silence and solitude. She was annoyed at that time,
"You are such a fool, Jane!"
"Why are you still in love with that guy? You should be able to refuse, right! Last night, why were you so stupid!
"Stupid Jane! You are stupid!" Jane cursed to herself.
She got up from her seat and paced back and forth in her room, still annoyed at the thought of Henry being content to do what she wanted to Jane.
When Jane was in anxiety, suddenly she heard a knock on the door from her apartment. Immediately Jane thought. There was no way Henry would come back because she had seen Henry's car parked on the side of the road and left her apartment.
There was a knock on the door again. Jane immediately rushed to the main door, and she peeked first through the small hole behind the door. It turned out that Jane saw Daniel's figure with a cheerful face and a wide smile.
"Good morning, Jane. I hope I didn't disturb your sleep," said Daniel cheerfully.
He saw Jane was still wearing a skimpy and sexy nightgown.
"Morning, Daniel. You just got home, haven't you?" said Jane kindly.
"Yeah, I just got home. I couldn't work in peace all night because I was thinking about you. Are you all right now?" asked Daniel.
Jane just realized that Daniel was carrying two large brown bags. From the smell, Jane was sure that the bag contained delicious food.
"I'm feeling better. Thanks for your help. I don't know what would have happened without you, Daniel. I was sick last night," Jane said gratefully, then the man handed her two large brown bags.
"I brought you breakfast. In it are some recommended vitamins from me. Yesterday I checked your high fever, and it seems you have a little low blood. Maybe that's why you are so dizzy," Daniel explained with concern.
Jane could not help but have to accept Daniel's gift. She didn't want to offend Daniel right then and there.
"But this seems like too much," Jane said as she took a peek at Daniel's groceries, which she couldn't possibly finish on herself.
"Shall we have breakfast together?" Jane offered.
"Are you sure?" Daniel was a little embarrassed and didn't want to bother Jane with his presence.
"Come on, Daniel. We can eat together and consider this a token of my gratitude. Well… even though you brought it for breakfast this morning," Jane snorted as she convinced her neighbor to accept her invitation.
"That's fine. But it's good if you change your clothes, Jane. You know, If I were a grown man. It seems uncomfortable if I eat alone with you like that. I hope you're not offended," Daniel was slightly embarrassed when he said what he was thinking.
"Oh, of course! I'm sorry, Daniel. I'm used to Mia always coming here. Okay, ten more minutes. You should change your clothes too. I'm sure you don't want to continue wearing your uniform either, do you," Jane chuckled seeing Daniel, still wearing his uniform.
Finally, Daniel returned to his apartment.
Jane had already closed the door again. She rushed to clean herself and change her clothes.
Jane immediately began to prepare breakfast. Turns out, there was already two tuna sandwich with fries, and delicious pancakes, topped with honey that were sure to make their breakfast special at that time.
"Everything is done and tidy,"
It wasn't long before there was a knock on the door. Jane was very excited at that time. She immediately invited Daniel into her apartment.
Daniel's appearance looks more casual with a white t-shirt and black trousers. While Jane wore a pink sweater and white shorts.
"Let's start breakfast," Jane said, pulling a chair to herself.
Likewise, Daniel immediately sat down.
The two of them began to chat excitedly at the dining table. Jane couldn't stop thanking him when Daniel helped her last night.
"Have you been feeling dizzy lately?" asked Daniel and returned to the subject of Jane falling unconscious.
"I've been feeling dizzy lately. But yesterday was the worst," said Jane, trying to remember.
"If that's the case, it's better for you immediately go to the hospital to check. Just in case, who knows, there is a serious matter that must be addressed immediately," Daniel tried to give advice.
"That's a good idea. Maybe I'll give it a try, but that's after I've tried the vitamins you recommend. Who knows, I'm just a little tired," replied Jane, who seemed normal and not worried about her health.
Unlike Daniel seems to be still curious and wants to keep asking questions about Jane's health.
"Last night, you had a high fever, Jane. Even though, you were delirious. I had to inject liquid Paracetamol so that your fever subsided. I hope you don't think this is normal. It's better if you immediately get this checked by a doctor," Daniel kept trying to reassure her.
"Thanks for your advice. I'll do it," Jane replied curtly, and she gave Daniel a sweet smile.
"Jane? Did you know that you are an attractive woman," said Daniel suddenly.
"What? Attractive woman? You mean I'm too seductive for men?" Jane chuckled at Daniel's praise.
"I didn't think that far. I just thought you were beautiful. I've only been here a few weeks, and to be honest, I've been watching you a lot. Do you remember when you suddenly kissed me on the street?
"Wait..!" Daniel said as Jane gave him a slightly odd look.
"Don't worry. I'm not asking you anything, Jane. So stop staring like that. I'm just curious. What's the matter?" asked Daniel and finished his breakfast.
"Sorry about what happened that time. Actually, I was avoiding someone. A man to be exact, and that man is my husband,"
Janes' answer made Daniel choke as he just drank.
"Huk huk huk! Wait a minute. Did I hear right? You just said you had a husband?" asked Daniel in disbelief, his face still red from choking on his drink.
"Yes, that's true. It's a complicated story. Two years ago, I ran away from him. Just so you know, last night he came and saw me," Jane said casually.
"Oh… I think I'm in the wrong situation. I don't want your husband to catch me with you, and he thinks strangely about the two of us," said Daniel trying to defend himself.
He was confused because Jane was relaxed when he said it.
"Don't worry. Henry won't be angry. If he's angry with us. I can be angry with him because he already has another woman. I mean... another wife," Jane continued to tell the story as if Daniel was her best friend like Mia.
"Uhmm? I'm getting more and more clueless. I think that's enough, and I won't ask again about your life. I'm sorry, it seems very difficult for you, Jane," Daniel said, feeling guilty because it seemed like meddling in Jane's personal affairs.
"That's the story of my life. Too bitter and not sweet. You don't have to feel guilty like that, Daniel," Jane said with a cheerful-looking smile.
Daniel is no longer discussing who, how, and what? He tried to divert the conversation to other things like his job. How he was interning at a hospital in New York City,
during their exciting conversation.
Suddenly the cell phone and a number rang that she didn't recognize, which made Jane frown. Thinking, does he need to pick up the incoming call?
"Just pick it up. Who knows it might matter," Daniel suggested.
Jane complied,
"Yes, hello? That's right. I'm Jane."
"What?! Mia!! What happened to her?"
Jane's eyes immediately widened in fear. She looked at Daniel was in front of her.
"Okay, I'll be right there!" said Jane immediately with a worried face.
