That morning felt very different from Robert's presence. The man was at the same table with Jack and Jane, enjoying breakfast, and even more strangely when Jack seemed to be intimately chatting with Robert.
"I'm so grateful because you want to be our main donor," said Robert as he finished his breakfast.
"It's just a small problem for me. It just so happens that I'm interested in the business you offer," said Jack as he took a slow sip of his drink.
Jane's gaze alternated between Robert and Jack. For some reason, she had a hard time reading the minds of the two men who were close to her.
"Am I too tired? Why is it so hard to read their minds? This is so weird," thought Jane confusedly.
Jane lowered her gaze, gripped her cutlery with fibers, and seemed reluctant to finish her breakfast.
"Are you all right, Jane?" asked Jack when he realized that Jane had not finished her meal.
"What?" Jane straightened her face and looked confused.
