Chapter 10 - DNA Matched

"It is indeed true and I have confirmed this not once but thrice. This girl and the foreign citizen whose dead body had been brought here earlier are indeed related. Their DNA matches with each other. Not to mention the both are attacked by the same predators. Moreover, it is ninety-nine percent sure that both of them are father-daughter."

Jackline and Miranda looked at each other with shock flashing in their eyes. The sudden turn of events had caught both of them off guard. 'World is very small' - it seemed that indeed no matter how one would think about the world being so big and among millions and trillions of people, here this coincidence seems to be countering the facts.

The pair of father and daughter being attacked by the same predator at least gave them a silver lining of hope that there might be a possibility that revenge or some personal thrift must have been there. At least now they only have to find out whether both of them had a thrift with a common enemy or not.

"weren't we informed that the girl is an orphan? And as for that man he was living abroad with his family. How come both of them are related?`` Miranda looked at Jackline and commented while scruitenising her gaze thinking of a possible reason how this could happen. Jackline was thinking about it as well.

"either we received the wrong information about her or we were intentionally made to believe in the fake story."

What Jackline said at the end was indeed making a lot of sense. If information would have been wrong from the start then this story was not something which was hard to believe.

"I can only give you medical evidence." Mr. Richardson who heard their conversation shrugged his shoulders and answered as a matter of fact. Miranda looked at him and snorted In response.

"We can take care of that and what needs to be done." her tone was cold and her expressions were also not so good looking. The forensic expert shot her a glare before turning around and walking towards his table to resume his work.

Jackline and Miranda had left the forensic building and were now heading towards their car which was parked in front of the gate.

"can't you be a little bit polite while talking to him? Do you have to be arrogant as always?"

Jackline puffed out a sigh and said in a helpless tone. When Miranda heard her friend her expression turned ugly once again and she could not help but speak in disdain.

"Just look at him and my mood turns foul. Not to comment on my tone, it is inevitable to change as well."

Jackline halted in her steps and could not help but look at her friend's figure that was walking ahead with a helpless smile on her face. Both of them were not even aware about their feelings for each other yet every time they would be ready to slice each other's throats.

"Jackline, are you coming or are you going to help somebody upstairs?" While Miranda said those lines her eyes drifted towards the building and somewhere on the fifth floor a man in white coat was standing near the window frame. He was looking down as well where Miranda was standing. when their eyes met both of them turned stiff for a moment before both of them averted their gaze back.

"no, no! I am coming." Without any further delay Jackline rushed towards her friend. Although she failed to notice Richardson standing upstairs near the window, just with that slightest change in Miranda's expressions it was not hard to guess what happened just a few seconds ago.

"both of you are adamant on killing each other, aren't you?" Jackline smirked and commented while she noticed Miranda trying to peek a glance at the building. Miranda's face turned slightly red on being caught red handed and she coughed slightly before replying grumpily.

"If I would not have been a cop, sure enough I would have killed him a long time back."

Jackline started the car engine and nodded her head in understanding.

"indeed, that night you both had a very good chance to murder each other. sadly you both are in security and inspecting."

Miranda gritted her teeth in anger and slapped Jackline on her shoulder before retorting back.

"if not for you there was no chance that night would have ever taken place."

Jackline could not help but burst out in laughter. Miranda's mood improved as well.

While they were going towards the bureau, Jackline turned to look at Miranda and asked.

"should we go and once again enquiry about that girl from her roommate? we do have a wrong profile of hers, and with a wrong profile we cannot solve this case."

Rubbing her chin a little bit, Miranda agreed with Jackline's suggestion. Both of them headed towards the south city where the incident had happened earlier to do another round of enquiry.

'DING DONG'

Ringing the bell, both of them stood at the door and waited for the other person inside to open it.

"Hello ma'am, do you have any updates?" The door was just opened when a slim girl came out and asked both of them. Shaking their heads, both of them denied and Miranda said in a low tone.

"We are here to ask you some other things about your roommate."

Nodding her head, the girl answered in a meek voice.

"Sure please!"

"Were you aware that your roommate was not an orphan? her father was alive and her dad came here as well.`` This time Jackline was the one who was questioned. Both of them have expected that either she will be caught red handed while lying or she would just deny. but what happened was not surprising to Miranda but Jackline was shocked. In panic the girl tried to bite her lower lip to remain calm. however unexpectedly she bit her lip so hard that she could taste blood and out of anxiousness her face started to change. Jackline was able to notice that very easily which made her quite surprised as well.
