"Were you aware that your roommate was not an orphan? her father was alive and her dad came here as well.`` This time Jackline was the one who was questioned. Both of them have expected that either she will be caught red handed while lying or she would just deny. but what happened was not surprising to Miranda but Jackline was shocked. In panic the girl tried to bite her lower lip to remain calm. however unexpectedly she bit her lip so hard that she could taste blood and out of anxiousness her face started to change. Jackline was able to notice that very easily which made her quite surprised as well.
Her face changed into complete white skin and her nose had turned into a black small spot while her eyes turned red and flags had come out from her teeth , hands and legs. Jackline observed her from head to toe and was astonished to see this side. Closing her eyes she shook her head trying to erase everything that was coming in front of her eyes in case she was hallucinating. But the moment she opened her eyes again, she saw the same thing.
"I... I really wasn't aware of this. Um... officers, how come you know that she has a family? She never mentioned one." Trying to keep her calm, she had clasped her hands tightly while stuttering. Miranda was unable to notice these small changes, however, Jackline who could see everything knew what was happening. She was lying and had turned anxious when she felt that she was about to be caught. Before Miranda could say anything Jackline said in a cold tone.
"You are lying."
Lifting her head the girl looked at Jackline. When her eyes met with her, she could see her reflection in them and instantly understood that she could see through her. Her face turned pale and she trembled in fear before she started to stutter.
"You... you are the..." 'Protector'. She did not say the rest of the words but Jackline, being an expert at lip reading, understood what she said. Her eyes contained traces of surprise but most importantly she was sure that she knew a lot about everything that had happened.
"arrest her! she is lying." By now Miranda was able to see through her as well. Not with the changes in her appearance but behaviour. Serving in this field had made her at least get a rough idea on human behaviour and psychological actions. The way she stuttered and trembled was enough proof. Without wasting another moment she handcuffed her.
"No, no! It's all a lie. I did not do anything!"
She tried to yell at the top of her lungs and struggled. But the nearby officers who were patrolling came near the building. The female officers quickly came forward and took her towards the jeep that was standing outside to take her to the bureau.
"You were able to see through her quite early." Miranda looked at the girl's retreating figure and noticed Jackline's cold expressions.
"I guess there is something important I have to do. Will meet tomorrow." Without saying any further, Jackline left from there. Miranda who was standing there looking at her friend's retreating figure could not help but mumble.
"It is not like that as if I will stop you."
Just as she was about to move ahead to grab a cab back to her home, a notification rang in her phone. She took out her phone from the pocket and noticed that the message was from Jackline. Furrowing her brows she looked into the direction in which Jackline had left and could not help but wonder how come in such a short time she had something to inform her. Nevertheless she quickly unlocked her phone and read her message.
'If you want to go and look for Mr. Richardson, you can. Also, if you need any help don't hesitate to ask me. I am much more experienced than you when it comes to this.'
By the time she had finished reading the complete message her face had turned red in embarrassment and as well as anger. She clenched her phone tightly and could not help but curse her friend under her breath.
" This damn Jackline! Experience my foot! Just you wait for tomorrow."
Gritting her teeth in anger Miranda left from there. Not to mention the very mention of Mr. Richardson would turn her normal emotions complicated.
Jackline quickly arrived at her home and noticed that the light of the house was switched off. Feeling a little bit uneasy she quickly locked the car and knocked on the main door of the house. And as she was expecting, nobody opened that Gate. Fishing out another pair of keys from her pocket she unlocked the door and came inside.
"Aunt, where are you?"
She roamed around the house but found nobody. The uneasiness in her heart grew stronger when she noticed two empty cups on the table. In fact the cups had dried a long time back which made one thing for sure that she was not at home for a long time. Thinking about what all happened back at her uncle's mansion and what all things she had been witnessing, her uneasiness had turned even worse. Since, at this time the visiting hours were closed, naturally she knew that her aunt would not have been with her uncle. No matter how much she was trying to think positively, her mind would drift towards the negative thought automatically. Just as she was mulling over what to do, her phone rang which made her more panicked. The message was from her aunt. She quickly unlocked it and read the message.
"Don't worry I am reaching in half an hour. I went out on shopping to buy clothes for the three of us."
Jackline knew her aunt very well. Whenever she will be happy, she will go on for a shopping. With this thought, the uneasiness inside her had dissipated.
