"I feel that her body is quite weak. we should let her take up a regular body check up to be at ease."
Jackline did not say anything and silently agreed. Looking at her tired face Charlotte felt sorry for her and could not help but pat her friend on her shoulders.
"Are you alright? what has happened?"
Listening to her question, Jackline placed the glass down on the table. taking a deep breath she shook her head and answered.
"I really don't know how suddenly he came in front and started attacking. We don't even know who he was. I don't know how it happened. and of course his face..." Jackline stopped when she realised that she was just about to speak up regarding something that she should not. Noticing that she halted all of a sudden Charlotte could not help but look at her and raise her brows.
"What about his face?"
Jackline remained silent for a few seconds before thinking of something and spitted out.
"I felt that I had seen him somewhere but then again I could not recall." Jackline came up with this sudden excuse out of nowhere. She paused for a brief moment of seconds before adding.
"You go and rest. I will be staying here with Aunt Adela."
Nodding her head, Charlotte did not persist that much and went back home. Meanwhile Jackline retracted her gaze from the door and looked back at her aunt whose brows were knitted together. Sweat droplets had formed on her forehead and she seemed to be shaking her head. She bent down and clasped her hands with her while with the other hand she wiped the sweat droplets. She probably thought her aunt must be having a bad dream but the truth was she was actually fighting another battle not in dreams but probably somewhere else. When Jackline had clasped her hands with hers, her powers had transferred into her and the battle which she was about to lose had now turned into her favour as she had her powers. and could fight more strongly. A few minutes passed when Jackline noticed that the expressions on her aunt's face had returned back to normal. When she was calming herself all of a sudden aunt Adela opened her eyes wide and stood up straight on the sofa. Being startled at her reaction Jackline looked at her and asked worriedly.
"What happened aunt? Don't worry, it was just a bad dream. Do you want to drink water?"
Without waiting for her reply Jackline had already stood up to get a glass of water for her. Gulping down a few sips of water, Aunt Adela was feeling a lot better. She looked at her niece who was staring at her worriedly. At first she didn't tell her everything but now when she thought about it, it seemed that she was supposed to know everything. She had to know or else her life would always be in danger.
"I need you to tell me something. Honestly. "
"Yes of course." Jackline could tell that she had something on her mind which was probably bothering her. Adela took a deep breath and asked her in a wherpering tone.
"Since when have you been seeing things?"
Jackline thought for a moment and answered honestly.
"A week ago when I was coming to your house. On the road I saw something unusual but it was just for a fraction of seconds so I did not think about it much. But now when I link everything I guess it was not my hallucination."
"Indeed my child indeed. It was all real and not any kind of imagination that you were witnessing. Today I am going to tell you something very important. I don't know how long I am going to live now but whatever life is remaining I will try my hardest to stay by your side and guide you on your journey so that you won't feel alone."
"Aunt, you don't have to speak like that. You will live a long life."
Jackline fell as her eyes were burning and there was some bitterness in her throat. Adela smiled bitterly before nodding her head and caresing her niece's head with gentleness.
"Now listen to me very carefully. Being one of the descendants of the Royal lineage you have the duty to maintain peace and humanity. These supernatural species which only exist in fairy tales are inserted real and not any kind of stories for imagination. These species are the only ones because of whom this Royal clan was established to protect humans and humanity."
"Reapers or this other clan, you can say the general commander of these supernatural species who are The Mystic. The general commander army are basically reapers. When Royal protectors started hunting these Mystic species so that they could protect humanity, the clan formed a general of the military who are called reapers. They are the ones who received this duty to kill all the protectors."
"Reapers?"
"Yes, reapers who carry a weapon which is similar to that of a sickle which is used to cut down trees. This particular weapon is laced with a deadly venom poison which when attacked on any protector lineage it will kill that protector instantly, not leaving a single chance of his or her survival."
Adela looked at Jackline and could not help but sigh softly.
"I know all of this is happening very suddenly but I am very proud of you that you are taking this very positively and calmly. When this hitted me back then I had a very different reaction completely opposite to you. I was so shocked that I could not even come back to my senses for a week."
Jackline was surprised to hear that. she couldn't help but raise her brows and exclaim.
"For real?"
She has always known her aunt as a person with strong will and with a strong inner strength. For her to react in this way was naturally a surprise for her.
