Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

"Hellen?"

Hellen looked up and saw Seth standing in front of her, along with some tuna sandwiches and orange juice in his hands.

"Seth."

Seth was staring at her, trying to figure out why she was acting suspiciously. He soon gave in and sat across her, and handed her the food he brought with him.

"Are you okay? You look nervous?"

"Oh I'm okay, I was just.....lost in my thoughts. I'm sorry."

"Don't be. It's okay."

"Uhm...thank you for the food though. I will enjoy it."

"You're welcome. So, do you have any questions?"

"Regarding what?"

"The accident?"

"Oh... I do. How long have I been here? Or, like unconscious?"

"It's been around over two months?"

"Two months? That's.....a long time."

"Yea, you can say so. But it is a miracle that you woke up, earlier than we expected you to."

"Oh. I guess that's a good reason."

"Yes, we've seen a lot of people like you. Like people who got into some terrible accident and got into a coma. It took them years or months to gain their consciousness but I guess you are a different case?"

'Different case my ass. Someone just told me to die for the world, and where's a good reason for why I woke up earlier than you guys expected, just to die? UGHHHH, I shouldn't be mad at this guy for some shit that happened to me.' Hellen said to herself.

"I hope these people recover soon, just like I did."

"You're a nice girl. I hope what you wished for, came true."

'Yeah sure. It came true. I wanted to die and now I will have to die, but for the world. What am I? A goddamn hero? Wait, I can reject it right? Victoria told me about me being the chosen one and that they won't take my life forcefully but she never said anything about rejecting their offer right?' Hellen was thinking and didn't have time to hold a proper conversation with Seth.

"So Uhm, do you have any more questions?"

Hellen was snapped back to reality.

"Do you happen to know about the accident I was in?"

"About that, I bet no one can actually fill you in. Like about everything that happened before you were hit. But I do know something, which I feel like the information is not something that you are looking for."

"What is it?"

"I heard you were hit by a truck."

"Oh?"

"Yes. Maybe you can ask about it more from your family? I think things like these are better to hear it from them."

"Sure. Thank you for the information, Seth."

"I'm happy that I could help you, in a way."

"By the way, do you happen to know where I got hit? Like the location?"

"I thought you would remember something like this but you don't?"

"Yes, I feel like it's been a long time."

"From what I heard it was near May's Bakery. You were standing at the pedestrian near it I think?"

"Can I look around the hospital?"

"Sure, I still have time before my break is over." Seth was surprised as to how Hellen just bought up another topic when the last one just ended without a proper ending.

"Thank you, shall we go?"

As Seth pushed Hellen around the hospital, they had small conversations with each other, whenever they saw a room that looks interesting.

Hellen is the type of girl who's curious about anything and will ask questions about it.

Seth is the type of boy, who explains things carefully to anyone who has doubts.

They are a good pair.

Questions have been bugging Hellen ever since she came back from Lycus's domain. Hellen has no one to ask these ridiculous questions, and she knows that people would make faces or even laugh at her if she did ask them.

"Seth?"

"Yes, Hel?"

"I'm sorry but did you just call me Hel?"

"I did. Hellen is too long for me to say each time. Is it okay if I call you Hel?"

"Uhhh, sure. Anyways, is there anywhere I can use the internet?"

"There is a library."

"A library? At a hospital?"

"Yes, it is uhm.. newly introduced in our hospital. I know it might sound weird but it is for people who love to read, and for the children to have fun activities. Of course, you can use the internet with the laptops provided by the hospital. It is for the doctors, patients, and the interns?"

"Oh wow, the concept is truly amazing."

"I know right, I'm really glad that we got a library with the internet."

"Can you please take me to the library? Seth?" Hellen was impatient.

"Sure, do you want to read something all of a sudden?"

"Oh no, I just want to do some research."

"Research? About what?"

"Things? I don't know what I'll be looking for, so...."

"Hmm, sure that can happen too. Sometimes we stray from what we tend to look for. Right? AHAHAHA..."

"Ahahaha...yes."

As they reach the library, they were both quiet. Hellen loves the vibes that the library gave off. Chilly, quiet, and interesting.

Seth pushed Hellen to one of the chairs where she can use the laptop and whispered into her ears.

"Hel, I need to go. My shift starts again soon. I'll leave this water bottle with you. Beside you is a water cooler dispenser, you can get more water from here if you want. You don't need to move. So don't be afraid. Here, I added my contact number to your phone. Call me whenever you need help or feel like it. Oh, and call me when you're done, I'll come to you. I had a great time with you today, have fun researching."

Seth was walking away and Hellen was praying that Seth would turn around one more time.

'Please turn around. Please turn around. I guarantee you that it's worth it.' Hellen prayed.

Seth then stopped and turned.

Hellen mouthed the word 'Thank you' since she knew that Seth won't hear her as she can only whisper in the library.

Seth smiled and left the library.

Hellen double-clicked the mouse and the screen lights up. She was relieved to find that she doesn't need to wait for the laptop to turn on.

She clicked google chrome and typed in

'accident that happened near May's Bakery'.

She looked through the search results and clicked every link on it but couldn't find any article about her accident.

Just as she was about to give up, the last link she clicked caught her attention.

'mysterious things believer'

'What kind of weird thing is this? Should I even be on this website? What if I get hacked?' Hellen started overthinking.

After scrolling through four posts on this website, the title of the fifth post made her stop scrolling.

'Mysterious case near May's Bakery.'

'May's Bakery? That's where the accident took place! Could it be that it's my case? Is there finally some article about my accident?' Hellen's thoughts were racing.

She clicked the title and it took her to a different link.

She read articles relating to her accident. All of them say the same thing, just written differently. The truck hit a 21-year-old female at 11:47 pm two months ago. There was no witness. Police can't find a clue as to why the truck hit her. There was nothing about the driver and the license plate is also missing.

Hellen was confused. Why are there so many unknown factors? This sounds like some story from a webtoon. She then kept scrolling, hoping that she would find more information but all she found was a comment section.

She found it weird that there is a comment section about some accident that happened and people actually have something to comment on.

As she read the comments she felt like she got more information out of the comment section than those articles written by the media.

She also noticed that the comments are anonymous. There were no usernames or profiles of the people who commented.

The information she got are as follows:

1) There are some people in this comment section, who can be considered as witnesses.

2) These people claimed that they don't see the driver coming out of the car, so this accident cannot be considered a hit and run.

3) It's not like there was no license plate, there was, but it was black.

4) There was someone with Hellen. They couldn't make out if that someone was someone Hellen knows.

5) A few minutes after the accident, the unknown person near Hellen just disappeared. So the case was closed because there were insufficient clues to catch the driver. There were no witnesses.

Hellen sat there in silence as she tried to remember what happened on the day of the accident since it appears too suspicious for her to let it go.

Just as she was about to figure out something, someone spilled water on her lap.

Hellen was startled and turned to find out who dare disturb her train of thoughts and she was surprised to see who it was.

"You...How are you here?!"
