Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

"You...How are you here?!"

"Shhh, you're in a library remember?"

Helen looked around and whispered,

"Library my ass. Why are you even here?"

"My my, do I not look gorgeous? Hmm, I thought girls like those kinda faces nowadays. What do they call them again? Oppa? Do I not look like an Oppa?"

"Don't make me gag, Lycus." Hellen sighed.

"Hey, that's rude. I'm much older than you are just so you know."

"I already have enough on my plate to worry about those shit."

"Tsk Tsk Tsk, kids nowadays..."

"Why are you here Lycus? We met like what 15 minutes ago?"

"Well, Victoria chased me out so I didn't get a chance to talk with you. One on one."

"What more is there to talk about? I thought Victoria explained most of the stuff to me."

"She told you that she wouldn't force you to become a sacrifice, didn't she? That you have the option to choose freely."

"Yeah, she did."

"Well, sorry to break it to you, but that's not the case."

"What, I don't have a choice? Like I'm the only chosen one?"

Lycus looked into Helen's eyes and gave out an awkward smile.

"You've got to be kidding me!"

"I'm not." Lycus joked.

"Pray tell me why I can't choose my damn fate?"

"That's one optimistic statement... Changing one's fate.." Lycus trailed off to his thoughts.

"Let's talk later now's not the good time."

Helen tried to brush off Lyrus.

While Lycus was running his mouth in the back, Helen picked up her phone, trying to think what her passcode could be. No matter how hard she tried to remember she couldn't remember all of the combinations. She then remembers she can use her fingerprint to unlock her phone. A rusting robot, what a statement.

'I wonder what name Seth saved his contacts in.' She couldn't find Seth's contacts in her phone contacts but she did see the contact named "Sebastian" that she's quite unfamiliar with. Maybe it's someone she knows but forgot because her memory is as bad as a person with dementia.

Helen called this Sebestian whatsoever and hoped that it was Seth. If it's not him she doesn't know how she would go back to her room all by herself. Maybe she can wheel herself out but she's never done that before. Being in a wheelchair.

"Hello, who is this?"

"Hi, is this Seth?"

"Uhm, who is this again?"

"Oh, it's me. Helen from the hospital?"

"Right! Are you done already? I was just about to come to get you."

"Ah yes, I'm done."

"Alright, wait for me, I'll be there in a minute."

When Seth hung up the phone, Helen was startled by Lycus who was prying on their conversation.

"Hmm? Who was that?" Lycus smirked.

"Get that nose out of here."

"You were blushing and all flustered when talking to him. Tell me, who was that? Hmm? Hmm?"

"I wasn't! It would help if you get going. I need to rest."

"Awh, come on, we haven't even talked properly."

When Helen hissed at Lycus, Seth arrived just on time.

"Hey"

Helen smiled at Seth and said

"Hi. Let's go?"

"You must be tired. Let's get back you back to your room."

As Helen was being wheeled out of the library, Lycus was just standing where Helen was just sitting a few seconds ago.

Helen found that strange. Even though she doesn't know Lycus thoroughly, she knew that Lycus was the type of guy who would follow her to her room just to annoy the hell out of her.

As she turned around to glance at Lycus, he wore a blank expression that Helen couldn't read and analyze what he was thinking.

"Your family is waiting for you by the way. They bought back a lot of food for you."

"Oh, they are? They're rather fast on that haha." Helen let out a fake laughter.

A few minutes later, Helen noticed that Seth wasn't going back the way they came to get to the library.

"Are we dropping by somewhere else, Seth?"

As Seth heard his name being called by Helen, he stopped in his tracks. It was rather abrupt that Helen's heart skipped a beat.

Helen then lifted her head to look at Seth, just to see a pained expression on his face.

She was taken back by Seth.

"Uhm, is everything okay Seth?"

At this point, Seth has already been gripping the push handles tight.

A few minutes passed, and they have been exchanging eye contact without looking away.

Helen worried about Seth's pained expression and Seth having something on his mind, refusing to talk or move.

Seth then slowly let go of the push handles, carrying his body to crouch in front of Helen. His palms were ice cold since he gripped the handle a little too hard.

Helen still confused, wears a dumbfounded expression on her face.

"Helen...." Seth called out. Did he sound so... sad?

"Is something bothering you?" Helen asked worriedly.

"How long have you been seeing him, Hel?"

"Seeing him? Seeing who?"

"You know who I'm talking about Hel."

"I don't think I know? Could you maybe clarify?"

"The guy at the library. Can you see him?"

Seth moved his cold hands to hold onto Helen's warm hands softly.

"I-"

Helen's parents cut off Helen just as she was trying to say something.

This startled Seth and he quickly took back his hands to himself.

"Helen! Where have you been?! We were looking for you everywhere!" Helen's mother hurriedly ran to Helen, putting both her palms to squeeze Helen's face in between them.

"Mother..."

"Let's get you back to your room. We bought you your favorites to eat."

Just like that, Helen was being pushed further and further away from Seth, who stood completely still.

As Helen was being bombarded by a ton of lectures from her mother, all she could think was what Seth was trying to say.

'Who does he mean by him? Who is he referring to? Don't tell me, Lycus?! No... There's no way. No one saw Lycus when I was panicking, and they all thought I'd gone mad.'

Helen after finishing her food, fell right into a deep slumber since she had all her favorite food all at once.
