After about thirty minutes, the new couple came out of the marriage registry with a red book each in their hands. Raine stared at her picture with Knox for a while and murmured incoherently, "So that was it? I'm finally married but I feel no different…tch"
Dante heard her murmur and felt like facepalming himself but he resisted the urge and continued to follow her discreetly wondering what else she was thinking about.
Raine got to her car then she suddenly turned back. She remembered something and brought it up to him. "The name you registered was Dante Lake Moore." She stated and he smiled at her.
"Yes, is there a problem?"
"That is not your name." Raine told him with confidence. During the time she had been with him, there was nothing they hadn't discussed with each other. She had told him her name and she had known his. She had never forgotten his name, not even for once. "Your name is Knox Lake."
Dante nodded his head. "Bleu, you knew my name but my name has changed just as you changed over the years."
From his tone, Raine knew he wasn't ready to speak about his name yet so she let it be. "I am sure you didn't remain the same as well so there's no need to point out the obvious. I will not ask you about the past, there is no need focusing on it. Since I've chosen you and you've chosen me, all I ask is that you remain true to me."
She looked at his face and upon seeing that he sincerely agreed to what she had said, she was relieved. "I have something important to do. Let's meet up tomorrow to discuss about our future. " She said as she opened her car door but was stopped by Dante.
"Tomorrow? What about tonight? I am not going to live separately from my wife." Dante replied as he exerted pressure on the door she was about to open and frowned at her.
Raine returned his frown with a glare of her own. "It is either you move in with me or I move in with you." Dante reiterated.
"It's impossible for you to move in with me and its the same for me; at least for now. Give me half a month, after which I will move in with you." Raine replied after thinking for a while.
Raine planned on keeping her marriage a secret for at least two months and her home was a place of common knowledge to all her relatives. Moreover, her uncle had just arrived in her country so it was just a matter of time before he came over to visit her so it was impossible for her to allow her new husband to move in with her.
His second option was also out of the question as well. She had been given the responsibility to interrogate and watch over her sister so for now she couldn't leave her home. It would cause unnecessary problems.
Dante stared at her and his frown deepened. He was aware she had a bit of difficulties but he didn't think she would refuse him from moving in with her.
"I can excuse you for half a month but I cannot back down on tonight. We must spend our first night as a married couple together."
Raine looked at him in confusion before understanding what he meant. She had been insensitive indeed, she thought. She softened her voice unconsciously as she replied to him. "Em. I'm sorry, I didn't think properly. What about us meeting tonight for dinner then I'll follow you home?"
Dante accepted her compromise happily. "No problem. Where do you want us to meet? Here's my phone, type in your number." He said as he handed his phone to her.
She took his phone and saved her number in it then called herself as well to save his number. "Saved." She said then handed his phone back to him. "I'll call you later tonight to tell you the place and time we will meet but I really have to go for now."
Dante nodded and voluntarily opened her door for her. He watched her settle in and wear her seat belt before he closed the door. She nodded to him for the last time then drove off.
Dante watched her as she left and walked to his jeep. He leaned on it then brought out a pack of cigarette and lit one with a lighter. He continued to stare in the direction she had gone as he smoked then threw the cigarette away as his name was called.
"Em"
"We successfully intercepted the vehicle the master had ordered for the transportation, Sir."
"He?"
"He is safe and sound. S2 confirmed his arrival at the manor and she is presently running a routine full body check on him."
"Continue to monitor him, I'll find time to visit him. Pass down my orders; no one should disturb me till tomorrow morning unless it is rank S important."
"Yes Sir!"
"K7, I want the file on the Peter's family. Leave all information about Raine out of it. Send it to me before the ending of the day."
K7 nodded and saluted his boss. Since he had not been dismissed, he guessed that his boss wanted him to do something else. "Boss, where are you headed?"
"Drive me to the company." Dante responded as he sat in the back of the car.
K7, wiped off his imaginary sweat and sighed in relief. He was grateful for the piece of advice he had asked his senior colleagues to give him. It was from them he had heard that you should never leave unless you have gotten a verbal dismissal from the boss.
The boss was a man of small words and he would rarely take the initiative to discuss or order something, it was part of their job to try to follow his thinking process. Although, he loved working for his boss, he found it a tiring, tasking and nerve racking job.
