Ryo woke up groaning as he suffered from muscle pain all over his young body. Yesterday night's event was truly taxing to his body that hasn't even undergone puberty yet. He forgot that his 32 year old soul was currently residing in a 10 year old body, that's why he went overboard last night without a care.
He only felt this kind of muscle pain when he rolled down the mountain during the team building activity of the company he used to work at.
He was suddenly pushed from behind by some unknown person that was clearly jealous of him. Thankfully he was able to grab on a tree trunk, stopping himself from rolling himself to death down the mountain.
Even though something like that happened to him, the company just took care of his hospital bills but never bothered to investigate who was the culprit behind it.
'A bunch of dicks…'
He shook his head to forget about that unpleasant memory or he might just vomit blood from anger. He pulled the rope beside his bed to call for his servants. His muscle pain was too much. He can only rely on his servants to take care of everything for him while he relaxes—ehem—recover from it.
'It certainly is a nice feeling to have servants at my beck and call…'
Ryo thought as he cackled like a jerk having his way. He really missed the slack life he was able to enjoy prior to investigating Rei suffering from some kind of mind control. Once he's done with saving Rei, he would travel outside to enjoy the sights this world has to offer.
The maids came in one after another respectfully and did their individual task of serving the young master. Ryo sighed internally, thinking how lazy the people in here were to be served by a bunch of servants. No wonder the young masters from influential families that are spoiled to boot are so arrogant.
They didn't even know some basic survival skills. That's why he promised to himself that he'd live a slack life here and enjoy all the fun things in this world. Just thinking about it lifted his mood.
When he arrived at the dining hall, he saw that his father, mother, and surprisingly, Rei was already there, just waiting for his arrival. Food was served not long after he took his seat. Unfortunately he has to sit next to Rei since he's the youngest.
He gazed at Rei without moving his head to secretly inspect his condition. There was nothing unusual with his movements as he ate but he looked tired. His eyes looked empty but are barely noticeable if you don't observe him carefully.
He could be tired from school works and other responsibilities as an eldest son. He could also be tired from mind control. Who knows. Probably only the nanny does. Ryo really wanted to know how the nanny was brainwashing Rei. He's of noble bloodline so he's definitely stronger than the average vampires out there.
Also, the nanny was just a human. Humans don't have powers unless they're a wizard but that nanny was certainly not a wizard, not even in the slightest bit. She must be using some kind of magical device that could affect a noble vampire.
Regardless of how she's doing it, Ryo was also curious what was the nanny's motive in doing something like that to Rei. She could also aim for their mother or father since she could even brainwash someone with a noble bloodline so it was not entirely impossible. So why was she not doing that? Does the device she's using have some restrictions or something?
Ryo wants to know everything but his actions were limited. He couldn't even spy on them properly since the nanny was too cautious. His thirst for answers were getting stronger the longer he observed the two. He really wishes that he could have some sort of device to spy on them undetected. Then he suddenly remembered the thing he summoned last night.
Right, he almost forgot about that thing. He almost used his lazy brain to analyze things that the shadow could do for him. Thinking of all the difficulties he went through just to summon that thing, he definitely has to maximize the use of it so all the effort he used could be worth it.
But before that, he has to improve the shadow's aptitude first so it could work more efficiently so he doesn't have to do anything. He's too lazy to bother with collecting the answers himself. Once the necessary information is gathered, he could ask for his father's assistance to take care of the mess. If others could do it for him then he'd be more than happy to pass the obligation to them.
Completely dominating that shadow using only his aura is not enough. Heck, he's just a 10 year old kid, it was only expected that his aura wouldn't be too strong yet like the adult nobles. Since he's lacking the aura, he could just borrow someone else's.
Vampires could borrow the aura of their kind if they're relatives. They just have to drink the blood of that relative with that relative's consent of course. That relative can control the amount of aura he's lending so that he won't be at a disadvantage. It only lasts for a while though since the borrowed aura wasn't originally theirs.
Vampires could also directly transfer their aura on the vampire he's unrelated with by transferring an adequate amount of their blood by biting the vampire they chose to mark them as theirs.
He would borrow his father's aura since his father was the strongest vampire in this household. Having the help of his father's aura could guarantee his success in completely dominating that damned shadow. He doesn't want to delay things any longer since the life of a slack is still waiting for him. Rei better treat him kindly once he freed him from that damned nanny.
It was already evening when Ryo finally moved his ass to ask his father for some aura. He was so immersed in swimming happily that he momentarily forgot his task. He only remembered about it after their evening meal.
It was only that morning when he said he doesn't want to delay things any longer but it was immediately forgotten. His willpower when it comes to things like this was really frail.
He knocked on the study's door, which was exclusively for the head of the family, and when he heard the permission to enter, he went inside with a cute smile on his face.
Even though his father looks so scary at the moment, staring at him as if he would kill him if he said something wrong, he still persistently acted cute, hoping that it would work.
"Father, how's your evening going so far? Are you tired? Do you want me to massage your shoulders?" Ryo said with a shy smile on his face.
"It's a busy evening for me but everything's under control. You don't have to massage me since I'm not yet tired." His father replied coldly paired with that expressionless face.
"Oh okay, that's good then." Ryo said as he sighed in relief and then flashed a bright smile on his father.
Damien was feeling really happy right at this moment. How could he not? His youngest baby vampire was acting so cute at him. He just wants to pinch that chubby cheeks and spoil him rotten.
Even though he was elated inside, his face was still as expressionless as before. That face paralysis of his was probably beyond saving. Ryo though was feeling increasingly nervous inside since his acting cutely seems to be not working.
'This damned old fart…'
He couldn't help but scold his old man a few more times in his mind to ease the nervousness he was feeling right now.
"It seems like you need something, what is it?" His father asked.
Even though his face was still expressionless, there was a hint of gentleness in his voice that wasn't present before. Ryo rejoiced inside, thinking that his acting was a success. He would really work as an actor if only the crappy company he used to work at didn't bound him too tightly in that company.
'Heh. I could probably win the Oscar's award with how great my acting is.' Ryo thought.
Ryo smiled shyly once again as he used his doe eyes to amplify his cuteness and the effectiveness of his acting.
"I know this might be too much to ask for but I really need it, father…" Ryo was observing his father and snickered inside when he noticed that he finally caught his father's interest. So he continued speaking cutely.
"C-can you please lend me some of your aura, father? Pretty please?" He said with his doe eyes and his hands clasped in a pleading manner.
He was just too cute to be refused. Even if he didn't look so cute like this, Damien would still gladly lend his aura for his lovely son. He could only spoil his baby vampire and experience being a doting father on Ryo since Rei, his eldest son, was just too cold. That was not cute at all.
"Of course. Come here then. Just pinch me if you've had enough, alright?" Damien said gently as he offered his arm to his son without hesitation.
Ryo was surprised that not only did his father not question him on where he's going to use his aura but also spoke so gently and offered his arm to him. Was this really his intimidatingly strict father? Was he swapped when he wasn't looking earlier?
He quickly hid his surprise with a nod and walked towards his father with a bright smile. As if he was the happiest vampire. Without any hesitation, he bit his father's arm. His fangs weren't that sharp yet since he's still a kid so it stings when he bit Damien.
Even so, it was just a trivial thing for Damien. He had already experienced way more painful situations so it was really just nothing for him. He gradually transferred his aura on his son so that his son wouldn't feel any discomfort.
Ryo absorbed the aura that was gently filling him in. It was so comfortable. It felt like a parent's warm hug. He couldn't help but tear up slightly because he felt moved.
He had been craving for his parent's warmth ever since he lost them and now he was experiencing it through his new parents. He had a gut feeling that both him and the original Ryo were craving for their parent's warmth. He instinctively felt happy. For some reason, he feels like the original Ryo was happy as well.
He pinched his father when he already had his fill. He retracted his fangs and the tooth mark on his father's wrist was immediately healed. It was smooth as before, as if he didn't bite it at all.
"Thank you, father. I really appreciate it." Ryo said with a genuine bright smile on his face and hugged the man to show his appreciation.
Even though their temperature was naturally cold, he felt warm inside. He felt his father hug him back. Sure enough this father of his just looked scary on the outside but deep inside he was a softie.
