"Dad! I'm sorry," Vicky said. She tried to pull back, but Connor held her firmly.
"It's okay. You don't have to apologise for anything," Connor said.
Vicky stood in place, knowing that Connor was not letting go of her.
"I'm sorry dad. I'm sorry that I always act like a little brat even though you have a lot on your plate. I know I'm a total jerk sometimes. I'm sorry!... I'm sorry I couldn't save mom and Leo!" Vicky said.
Connor held Vicky's shoulder, and stopped hugging her. He held her chin, and raised her head up.
"There's nothing you could have done. You were just a child when your mom died, and you… Please stop crying!" Connor said, as a tear slid down Vicky's cheek.
Vicky sat on the car beside him. Connor looked at her and put his hand around her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, dad," Vicky said, leaning on Connor's shoulder. She cleaned the tears, but more replaced them.
