It took them four months to return back to the forest. And on the day of their return, they saw some of Lily's Parents guards. As Lily watched them, she could feel Lyrk's steely gaze on her. "I know. It's not like they can see me anyways. Can't I just look at them?" Lily asked to his silent protest. "I don't like it, when you do that," he replied. "Fine," she replied just as she was about to leave one of the guards started talking. "We have to hurry up, or the king wouldn't last much longer", "True," another guard said, "The loss of his daughter was just too much for him." At hearing this, Lily was heartbroken. She could feel Lyrk hands pulling her away from the guards, and when they had gone far enough away, he stopped, letting go of her hand.
He started muttering something that sounded like a chant in his native tongue. She was about to ask when he suddenly said, "No – no – no – no – no – no - no. You absolutely cannot go." "Please," she begged. "NO. DON'T SPEAK RUBBISH." He looked terrifying. It was the first time she had ever seen him like that. Some butterfly-like creatures came swarming around him right after he finished his chant. He grabbed a couple of them and put them in a bowl then he crushed them and put a liquid in it. "Here drink this," he said, passing the bowl to her. "Ew… what is that?" she asked. "You've been drinking that since you were fourteen now hurry up and drink it. It would help with the headaches." "But I don't have a headache." "JUST DRINK IT, LILY." "I don't want to!" She said, passing the bowl back to him. He looked annoyed, but he took the bowl and drank the contents in it. Then he grabbed her and forced her into a kiss, shoving the contents in his mouth into hers. She tried to struggle loose, but he still managed to force all the contents in his mouth into hers. When he was done. He released her, and as soon as he did, she threw up. He groaned and then smiled. "Ha... I guess mere hypnosis isn't going to work anymore. And the transformation was almost complete too, what a pain. I guess I'll have to put some effort into it. And here I was, trying to make your transformation as painless as possible. Oh well..." He looked straight into her eyes. His soothing red eyes had turned into something that terrified her to her core. As he came closer, she couldn't help from moving backwards. "I want to go home Lyrk," she said, fighting back an urge she was having to run. "Oh, do you now. There are no adventures at your home though. You promised you would stay with me. I'll listen to you later, right? For now, just strip." "What?" "You heard me. Strip".
Lily didn't want to, but she found herself doing so anyways. And then, she realised it, she was being hypnotized. "Good girl now stay here. I'm going to do the combination. It may take a while, but that's your punishment staying out in the cold naked. How befitting" he said this and walked away toward the lake.
As he left, it was as if her head shattered. The thin glass that protected her mind broke and different memories that were hers, but she couldn't remember, came flooding into her head. Lyrk wasn't just her protector, he was her lover. He had been since she was fifteen and he was trying to turn her into a faerie by continually getting her pregnant and killing the foetus on a full moon. The process was also almost complete, and after one or two more times, she'll be a faerie. But that didn't matter anyway, because, at that point, she was already no longer human.
She was scared that all she could think, was for someone to help her get away from the monster she sold her soul to. The memories just kept coming. He had told her about how he had once had someone else do the transformation, but that person had died a few months after the process began. That person was her sister. After that, her parents had sealed him off in a tree in the forest. However, she had broken the seal when she came to the forest by breaking off one of the branches. This was only possible because she was of the same blood as the one who made the seal.
She also remembered that there were times when she began questioning staying with him, and whenever she did, he always did the same thing. He would recite their promise. Never mixing any of the words up. It was as if it was a chant of some sorts. No, it wasn't as if it was a chant, it was actually a chant. He had told her this one time when she got frustrated and asked him about it.
Lily was breaking inside when the last memory came. She had asked him if she'll ever remember the things he had told her. Then, he had said that when she became a faerie, or if she were ever to take an incomplete dose of the compelling-drug her memories would return. He had also told her how to seal him back into the forest. If her blood were to be in the lake and her blood was to touch him within ten minutes, then he would be sealed back into the forest, and all his magic would become undone. At this point, she had a plan.
