Lily first waited for him to start the combination process so that the hypnosis he put on her would wear off. Then she walked to the edge of the lake and tore her palm using a stone she had found. As soon as her blood dropped in the lake, she began running to where he was. She had taken the route through the trees so he would suspect anything by the time she got to him she had three minutes left to get her blood on him. "I remembered," she said as he looked up at her with confused eyes. "What?" he asked. "I remembered what you've been doing to me." A look of panic crossed his face as he walked towards her. "Lily I-" he started, but she interrupted him, "I'm not mad." He looked genuinely relieved, and he wrapped her in an embrace one that was very similar to the one she's found comfort in. Although, the arms that had comforted her all these years, now felt as though they were strangling her. "You're still going to have to explain it to me." "Of course. I know I have to spell things out for you." "How do you know?" she asked, forcing a smile. "Simple, you are mine." At this moment, she embraced him using the hand, stained with her blood to smear all over his bareback. After a minute, she felt a teardrop on her face. "Why?" he asked. "You have broken our promise, Lily. Why?"
The creature that once stood tall was now slumped in her arms, crying, looking as pitiful as could be. "WHY LILY? WE WERE GOING TO BE TOGETHER FOREVER. Why did you have to do this? LILY???" "I'm sorry. But I need my life back," she replied, trying to hold back tears of her own. He cried tears, as dark as night. "But you're mine. How are you going to survive without me?" "I'll survive," she argued. "No, you won't. You'll die. You need me. You love me." "This might be true, but I'll never know if I don't try. And what I need right now is to get away from you," she said this and then started running away from him.
Seeing that she was going, he summoned all the magic he had left, which was very little because he didn't finish the combination. With all his magic, he made his voice echo through the forest and then said, "LILY!!!! FOLLOW EVERYWHERE I GO, TOP OVER MOUNTAINS OR VALLEYS LOW; I'LL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU'VE BEEN DREAMING OF, EVERYTHING YOU WANT IT GOLD, I'LL EVEN BE THE MAGIC STORY YOU'VE BEEN TOLD, AND YOU'LL BE SAFE UNDER MY CONTROL YOU ARE MINE, LILY... LILY... LILY!!!! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME. I CAN'T BE WITHOUT YOU. PLEASE COME BACK. I LOVE YOU, AND YOU KNOW YOU LOVE ME TOO. SO PLEASE COME BACK TO ME... LIL..."
Lily had heard his desperate cry when he started but knowing it was enchantment she started screaming on the top of her voice to block his voice out while she was running. She screamed, praying that one of the guards were still around and would hear her. Her voice ran out before he was done speaking, however, all she heard was him begging her to come back and how he couldn't live without her.
She couldn't handle the strain on her heart. The sincerity in his voice was too much. He might have been controlling, but he has always been true to his word and has actually never done anything to actually harm her. The only reason he was trying to turn her into a faerie was so she could live forever and stay with him. He was just a lonely pitiful creature who was looking for a companion to spend his life with.
She was about to turn back to go and meet him when she saw a light coming from a distance. The light had a soft green glow, and then she remembered a distant memory of her and her mother. Her mother had told her that if she was ever to get lost, the light would show her the path home and she should always follow that light no matter what. And so she did.
She followed the light, and soon she was at the edge of the forest facing her parent's castle, in the same spot as the time when she first met Lyrk. She looked up and saw that the source of the light was from a lamp. She saw a weak figure beside the lamp. She felt as though she wanted to see the face of that figure and it was that urge that gave her the drive to step out of the forest. Right as she did, the forest came alive trying to claim back what was belonged to it. The branches stretched out, trying to reach her. As she saw this, she ran faster screaming the same thing she did when she was still in the forest. "IS THERE SOMEONE OUT THERE? PLEASE HELP ME, COME GET ME. PLEASE SAVE ME."
The woman above looked down to the forest from her window, not expecting to see anything new. She had told her daughter about God's light and how it will show her the way home whenever she lost her way. So from the day, her daughter had gone missing she had unfailingly put up this lamp that shone brighter than all other lights in their kingdom. However, what she saw as she looked down made her cry. She saw her daughter screaming for help, and then she saw the forest that had taken her first daughter from her try to take her second daughter too. She hurried down the stairs ordering everyone she met on her way to go outside the castle wall and protect the woman there.
Lily kept running still screaming, and just when she was only a few meters from the castle gates, she felt her legs starting to give way. No, she thought. Not when she was already this close. She stopped screaming, focusing on just running. As if it was a miracle the castle gates open and hundreds of guards rushed out. Seeing them gave her a little more strength, and she rushed past them into the crowd of guards who were focusing on stopping her pursuer. As she entered into the castle walls, a guard tried to stop her. But she was still so frightened she struggled her way out of his grip and kept running. She ran directly into a sickly woman's hands. She stayed in those arms as they gently pat her head. Lily was scared, but even in that fear, she could see that the woman whose arms she was in was weak.
After about an hour, the guards returned back into the castle walls and back to their posts. It was only then that Lily gained the courage to see the face of her comforter, and to her surprise, it was her mother. On recognising her, she started apologizing, crying and apologizing again. Her mother smiled, but she couldn't say anything, all she did was cry hugging her daughter very tightly.
