It raised up what seemed like a hand with different knives spiraling together to form a drill of some kind. Then in a dramatic motion, it raised its weapon even higher. It wickedly flashed a fearsome smile, saliva practically pouring out of its mouth its tongue now whipping from side to side. I stood still I felt like I could barely move I thought I could feel my bones shaking. my eyes shakily looking around my surroundings. My heart pounding out of my chest. My mouth went dry I could feel my limbs wanting to collapse. I calmed myself and focused on its claw, and the moment it struck I would hopefully be able to dodge and be able to execute some kind of plan. Then after it was done with its horrifying performance, it glared at me for what it thought would be the final time.
"Bu Bye little rat!" It shrieked. The claw came crashing down, the knives spinning, the creature laughing like a madman, its eyes swinging madly out of control. I tried to calm myself down and forced every fiber in my body to move. I just needed to move out of the way and not be impaled the creature then if I could just get close enough to the ground. "BAM" the part of the wall beside me penetrated. The creature looked aghast then its face distorted even further, its teeth grinding against each other, his glaring red eyes swinging wildly in different directions before focusing back on me. I smiled deep down inside it had worked. As I rolled down I could already see the other creature snapping into action, its legs stampeding through the alleyway. Its arms swinging in inhuman angles. I extended my hand and grabbed at the dirt. I took my handful of projectiles and chucked straight at the creature's eyes. Taking a direct hit at the creature. It howled in pain stopping in its tracks. Covering its eyes with its monstrous arms. I practically wanted to cry now. Then I hit the ground. With a push of my leg, I quickly separated myself from the creature. Its head cocked towards me.
"C l e - ever, run while you can little rat," it screamed wildly. I went in a full sprint not looking back rushing towards the wrench. The first creature stuck in the wall, the second flailing around and shrieking. My lungs were rushing in air nonstop like a train engine, my heart beating out of my chest. I started feeling dizzy, but I broke out of it and grabbed the wrench. I slid back using friction to stop my sprint. I looked up at the two creatures. Then right as I was about to continue on my plan. I stood in horror. With one fluid motion, the first creature pulled back its arm from the wall. Staring at me with a full intent to kill. A wicked grin forming on its face, venom spitting out of its mouth. Its glowing red eyes staring into my eyes. Its head cocking from side to side. No this wasn't supposed to happen I thought to myself. Only one part of the wall broke. The building didn't collapse.
My original plan was to trap the first one and disable the second, but if the first creature had tried to escape by pulling out its arm the building should've collapsed. It wasn't supposed to be like this. If the creature pulled its hand out the building should have collapsed onto it. I thought the fear would stop it, but I was wrong. I dropped to my knees. My plan failed, it actually failed.
My cheeks hurt from withholding tears. I breathed in the cold air of the alleyway. Goddamn, I thought, if only I hadn't gone out of my way to feed that cat, if only I was more friendly to people maybe then, maybe I would have never been here. Was I really gonna die? I closed my eyes. And then a piercing pain erupted in my arm.
"HAHA damn, I missed somehow." It cackled in a horrifying nature. It was almost as if it saw me as some kind of carnival game.
I bit my lip as I saw it raise its hand full of assorted blades. Was I really ready to die? What was my life even for? It raised its hand up again. I felt the pain in my arm rage. I bit my lip to remain in control, but I could already feel the tears about to burst out of my eyes. I thought about it. Was there really anyone I cared about? My dad was a drunk, I had no siblings, my mom was dead and I had no friends. What have I been doing with my life? Maybe if I die here, maybe I can meet her again, I really miss you mom. I felt the stinging of my eyes, the pain erupting from my body. The pain started to sear through my arm extending to part of my chest. I started to feel dizzy, the blood gushing out of the wound. Then for a moment, I remembered.
Shrrk!
Another attack this time on my lower abdomen. I screamed out in pain. The creature's face deformed beyond comprehension practically gleaming with joy. It's mouth-watering, saliva pouring out its jaws. My abdomen flaring with pain. I let some tears out. why would I die now? After everything, I had done in these couple of seconds. How could I face him? A voice echoed through my mind.
"Do you really want to die?" It was his voice, "no … No", I thought. "Alright," I heard. Then before I knew it the pain in my arm subsided.
I opened my eyes. Looking at the creatures. the arrogant smiles plastering their faces slowly fading turning into a glare. I stood up to the pain receding.
"You bastard! I knew you were hiding something!" It shrieked in rage. Whatever had happened It looked like I had a second chance. I held up my hand to make a fist when I noticed something, when I looked at my hand there was a symbol. With different marks, a total of six marks. In which one of the marks faintly glowed a light blue color. The second creature finally seeming better shrieked and raised its claw ready to strike. I focused back on the first one also inching closer, raising its claw to attack.
"Prepare to die, little mouse." It cackled while howling in rage.
