The first creature stepped forward, I backed up a little. I could feel the cold brick wall behind me. It glared at me then swung its claw all the while yelling in rage. I stared at the tip of the claw. I needed to move, my legs straining just to stand up. I commanded myself to move to the right, and in the last second, I was able to barely slide my right leg to the side, feeling the claw graze the top of my hair, I felt sort of relieved.
CLINK!
Small chunks of brick, as well as some dust, came flying away from the hole in the wall.
"AHHH WHY WON'T YOU DIE!" It shrieked.
It took its arm already lodged in the wall and swung in a slashing motion across the wall. bricks flying loose from the attack. I dodged to the right again. The creature looking annoyed raised its second arm and swung. Clearly trying to impale my head. I tilted my head left narrowly avoiding the attack. Nice job I thought to myself. I looked up at the creature trying to determine what I needed to do next. It let out a sigh. Almost as if it was disappointed. As I looked I saw something out of the corner of my eye. "A blade?" I thought. No, I realized I was wrong, it was a claw.
"DIE!!" The second creature shrieked its face gleaming with evil, as I had a last-moment realization. My eyes widened in horror. I couldn't believe I fell for something so obvious. Why had I forgotten about the second creature? "Gah, I'm an idiot!" I tried heaving my arms up to brace myself, but I was too slow. It almost seemed like the attack happened in slow motion. The realization of death hit me again. I felt a tug on my cheek, as a steaming droplet of water left my eye and rolled down my cheek. Then ...
SHRRK!
I opened my eyes to see the first creature claw raised.
"Prepare to die, little mouse!" the first creature cackled while grinning in a terrifying nature. I stood in confusion. What had just happened? Didn't I die? Where's the second creature? I racked through my brain thinking of all the possibilities. Maybe my life was flashing before my eyes? I looked back up. It was amazing how surreal the scene was. The noises, the scene, everything. As if the world had recreated the scene. The creature stepped forward again. I pivot my foot, my legs straining. Then I remembered this was how I died that last time. With all my ability I shoved my foot inward to the other direction and made my body as small as possible. buying all the time I could get.
CLINK!
I looked to my right and saw a claw stuck into the wall. I blinked and the first creature had its hand stuck in the wall above me.
"AHHH WHY WON'T YOU DIE!" It shrieked. This time opting to pull its hand out of the wall. The second creature from behind gazed down at me as if reading me for any weaknesses. I directed my focus towards the first creature's leg. Looking for anything useful. I saw that in comparison to its thighs the knees of the creature were tiny. I raised my leg putting all of the weight on my left arm then with a push of my left leg I propelled myself forward and hoped that I could hit the monster.
CRACK!
The first creature tumbled down. Screaming in anger, or maybe surprise I didn't know. I thrust my arm out trying to grab the wrench fallen on the ground a little bit away, then I launched my right knee forward and pushed off the floor making an all-out sprint towards the second creature, but as I approached the creature launched its claw, and I felt a slight tugging from behind. I moved out of the way from the attack and looked behind seeing a monstrous hand grabbing my ankle then without a second's notice I saw the second creature's other arm peek out from its body. It looked like a small blunt object attached to an arm.
Bang!
My vision blurred slowly until the edges of my vision darkened, my head felt light.
"Was this it?" I thought to myself.
