The soft glow of the sun gently woke me up. It felt like my eyelids were as heavy as stone when I tried to open my eyes. A pounding headache practically knocked the wind out of me the more I tried to move. There was a wonderful heat against my back and I chose to snuggle towards it since the cold was nipping my neck.
I remembered absolutely nothing from last night to even get me this way, but I figured it could not have been that bad if I was with Mary. I turned around and through the thin slits, my eyes were able to let me see through, I saw a figure. Mary was often a heavy sleeper so it would take some effort to wake her up. With a very blurry vision I moved up higher and gently lay kisses on her neck enjoying her lavender scent, which was new to my senses. She must have brought herself a new perfume.
"Mary wake up," I whispered in her ear and I felt her move slightly probably stirring awake. I continued laying kisses on her neck and moved up to her jaw.
"Selena stop," I heard a deep voice murmur. I forced my eyes open and repetitively blinked till my vision cleared. I met hazel blue eyes and instantly recognized it to be Edwards. We both stared at each other in pure shock as we noticed our positions. Our legs were entangled around each other, Edwards large arm draped across my waist and his hand held my ass. Our chests were pressed together and my hands were on his chest.
I could feel his heart violently beat against my hand and I was pretty sure he could feel mine. After a few seconds of just shock, it seemed to finally dawn upon us what was happening. We both leapt off the bed like it was on fire and ran to different corners of the room.
"What the hell are you doing in my bed!" I yelled confused and dazed.
"You mean my bed. You came here last night drunk off your arse and thought it was a good idea to sleep in my bed," he snapped.
"Why would I do that?" I crossed my arms over my chest defensively.
"Oh I don't know idiot. Maybe you should have not jumped into the pool whilst it was freezing and nearly drowned. I had to jump in and save your arse before you froze to death," he spoke to me like I was an idiot, which at that current moment I truly felt like.
I stayed silent for a while whilst Edward sent hateful glares my way whilst I tried to recollect the previous events. I had glimpses of last night, the first was me dancing with a random girl, the next was me standing on a large water fall, Edward carrying me out the water and finally falling asleep in his bed. My cheeks instantly heated up with embarrassment but soon a smile spread across my face. "I'm sure the dive must have been pretty cool," I chuckled.
Edward seemed shocked that I could be that stupid and rolled his eyes. He tried to put on an irritated face, but soon a tiny smirk crept its way on his face, "A little bit. How did you learn how to dive like that anyway?"
"I use to be a swimmer and diver," I shrugged. We continued to chuckle lighter before we broke into full howls of laughter. "I can't believe I thought you were Mary," I cried as my laughter brought me down to my knees.
"I can't believe I thought you were Selena," he laughed, but once her name escaped his lips I noticed him visibly deflate. All jokes and happiness drained from his body as he sat on the bed facing away from me.
Something about seeing him so upset really disturbed me and I had no idea why. I just did not like seeing him so upset. Slowly and hesitantly I made it to the bed and sat down next to him. I debated putting my hand on his shoulder, but decided to do it. He tensed up slightly at the feel of my hand, but relaxed quickly. "Fuck Selena," I said with a serious face.
He quirked his eyebrow and tilted his head. "Repeat after me. Fuck Selena," I smiled hoping this would cheer him up.
He rolled his eyes but flashed me a smile, "Fuck Selena," he repeated.
"Listen Ed I don't know who she is or what happened between the two of you, but any girl to leave you must be a dumbass. You are an amazing guy and you could get any girl in the world if you wanted. Fuck you could be swimming in pussy if you wanted," I joked.
He chuckled at that and stood up, "And here I thought you were secretly gay."
"Hey it was a mistake and last time I was drunk. I would rather chop my own balls off than go for dick," it was true. Sure Edward was good looking and probably had a body of a god. I would never go for a man, especially him. He was all uptight and no fun. It would never work out.
Being pure Russian blood it seemed highly unlikely I would be gay. Being gay in Russia was practically begging someone to beat you up.
I was more open minded and accepted all kinds of people. My father on the hand was the definition of homophobic. He tried to drill it into me and my siblings' heads how sinful the whole thing was, but we really did not care. We grew up in a different generation where things were more acceptable. I really did not care who a person loved as long as they were happy, but dating the same gender would never be an option for me. I learned that the hard way...
"Go get ready and pack. We probably skipped breakfast, but we can get some in the city," with that he disappeared into the bathroom. I hopped off the bed and took a shower. I dressed in black jeans and a beige fluffy hoodie with my Vans. Jeans and hoodies were probably my uniform since it seemed to be all I wore. I put some gel through my platinum blonde hair and allowed the slight waves to form. It made me look like a surfer and I loved it.
I grabbed my duffel bag and exited my room to find Edward dressed in black torn jeans, a white long shirt with a brown leather jacket and black Adidas sneakers. His hair was messy and it was probably the first time I had seen him look so casual. He looked youthful and not the serious business man I knew him for.
"Take a picture it lasts longer," he smirked. It was only then I realized I had been staring at him for so long. I shook my head to clear my thoughts and followed his confident stride out the room. For years I thought I was the definition of confident and handsome, but being around Edward made me feel so small. He was so sure of himself and always seemed to have this prideful aura. He could be intimidating when he wanted too, but also funny.
It was slightly snowing outside, but luckily the lodge had an undercover parking so the car was not that cold. Edwards light caramel skin was slightly pale, but the tip of his nose and ears were red. It was funny to see and his freckles seemed to be more pronoun now too. The drive back to the city took some time since some parts of the road were slightly slippery and Edward did not want to take chances.
I understood since we were in a half a million pond car. We mostly sat in a comfortable silence till I decided to play some music.
"Restaurant or my place?" he asked once we entered the city, he was referring to, well lunch now. I was not in the mood to go to a restaurant since I was so hung over so we went to his penthouse. Just from the building I could tell it was expensive and all types of fancy. He had a whole level of parking dedicated to himself and his cars. He probably had ten to fifteen cars that we drove past.
I left my bag in the car and we walked to his private elevator, which was gold and paneled with mirrors. It was the most luxurious elevator I had ever seen. His penthouse was on the top floor so it took some time to get there and when we did my jaw nearly hit the floor. The penthouse had beautiful marble white floors with grey veins bleeding through. It was a three level penthouse and the stairs reminded me of something you would see in a palace, they were made with marble too with a gold handrail.
Edward led me to the kitchen, on the way we passed numerous other rooms and a fancy living room. The kitchen was huge, it had a more industrial feel to it with also a bit of modern. The bottom cabinets were grey whilst the top were a beautiful grey rustic wood. A large island was in the centre that could seat about five people, it was covered with a concrete waterfall slap that really tied the whole kitchen together. He even had his own pizza oven towards one end.
"Are you allergic to anything?" he asked taking off his jacket and stretched his arms.
"Coconuts," I know strange allergy, but it was shit true. He nodded and walked over to his integrated fridge and took out multiple ingredients. "You okay with burgers?"
"Yep," I smiled. It was like he knew burgers were my favorite food in the whole world. Edwards stove had its own mini grill and I mentally put a note to get that installed when I got back home. "I did not know you cooked?" I was sitting on one of the island seats and watched him put the burgers on and cut up potatoes to make chips.
"With a sister like mine I had to. We are both constantly hungry," he chuckled shaking his head. I did not really know Amanda, but I had met her husband once or twice back in Russia. From what I had been hearing from Edward she seemed super energetic.
"Didn't you just order take out?"
"Nope. We don't really like going out of our way for something we can do ourselves," he shrugged. I had noticed that about Edward. He did not have a driver since he preferred to do it himself and he cooked for himself too. The first time I met him I thought he was the stereotypical rich guy, but he was pretty humble about everything. He was picky though that much I could tell.
I continued to watch Edward effortlessly move around the kitchen as he chopped vegetables and got the food ready. The man even made his own ice tea which was amazing. After fifteen minutes the food was done and I was practically skipping to the breakfast bar as Edward placed the food.
We both sat down and I was the first to take a bite out of the delicious burger he had made. It felt like fireworks had went off as the taste serenaded my taste buds and made love to them.
"This is the best burger I have ever tasted!" I cried enjoying the slight sweetness there was to the sauce.
"I'm happy you are enjoying it," he laughed biting into his own burger. For those few minutes I had completely forgotten all about Edward the way the food was taking me to a whole other level. "Vas I swear you a groaning more than a porn star right now," he laughed loudly as I ate the chips.
"It's your fault for making it so delicious," at times I forgot to breathe the way I was savouring all of it. When I opened my eyes I found Edwards eyes on me, his hazel blue eyes almost black as he bit his lower lip. I quirked my eyebrow at him and he seemed to snap out whatever little daze he was in. He chugged down his whole glass of ice tea then shook his head.
"I'm quickly going to the bathroom," he excused himself and put his plate by the sink. His steps were hurried as he left the kitchen and disappeared into the house. Since Edward had cooked I decided to clean the dishes since it was the least I could do.
Once I was done I went to the living room we had passed and threw myself on the couch. I texted Mary and Yavok as I waited for Edward to come back.
"I swear you have a fetish for couches," I heard his voice say from the entryway and I leaped into the air before falling back onto the couch.
"You nearly gave me a heart attack!" I panted holding my chest as I tried to calm down my breathing. He simply laughed then sat down on the opposite couch. It was only then I had noticed he had changed into blue shorts and a fitting white t-shirt; the material stretched across his broad chest and I could see the outline of his abs as he leaned back onto the couch. His legs were those of the gods with smooth caramel skin, slightly hairy and they were perfectly toned.
I gulped the more I stared at him suddenly feeling awfully thirsty and hot. What the hell had gotten into me? I excused myself and got us both more ice tea.
"Have you been to London before?" he asked watching my movements with a careful eye as I sat back down.
"Twice, but it was mostly overnight stays. Never got to see much," the fun thing about ballet theatre was the travel, but it also sucked since you were rehearing all day that you barely had time to go sightseeing.
"Maybe I could show you around tomorrow if you are free," he smiled. His smile made my skin feel hot, his teeth were perfectly straight and white that I was pretty sure I saw a star for a split second.
"Sure. That would be fun," I grinned. He seemed pleased with my response and chuckled slightly. I had no idea why.
