Chapter 27 - 27) Doors With Locks

Edward

Vasili had soon fallen asleep when I had come back from speaking with the caption and unlike him I just seemed to miraculously stay awake. I probably had laid with him for what felt like two hours till my phone suddenly rang. Even though I had sorted out all my work prior to this vacation and left my trusted managers in charge, I knew emergencies would come up once in a while. I quickly reached for the phone so that it would not wake Vasili and left the room.

"Coleman speaking," I answered taking the elevator upstairs to go to my office.

"Hi Ed, it's John," my bodyguard spoke into the phone.

"Hi John, what's up? I hope everything is okay," I switched on my laptop and noticed a few emails that I had yet to read.

"Sorry to disturb your vacation, but remember that person you saw at the office a few days ago?"

"Yes," it was hard to forget the strange encounter.

"Well I checked the cameras and it seemed he was not there for you. From the footage I found he was actually poking around Vasilis car. I'm not sure what he did, but for a second he bent down to get under the car," what John said had me frozen in my seat.

"What happened afterwards?" I was most definitely worried.

"It seemed Vasili, himself disturbed him as he walked out the elevator. He did not even notice the man since he ran quickly behind another car out of view, but it was odd. Afterwards he just sort of waited there till you came."

"Did you notice any weapons on him?"

"No, but he was holding a small bag with him. We were not able to track him down, but yesterday he came again. I called the police and they arrested him, but unfortunately he did not commit any crime so they had to let him go," John sighed clearly just as stressed as I was feeling.

"Make sure you find out who he is. I want his pictures cycled through every employee and I want heavy security around the office when I come back. Vasili left his car at my house so get a crew to check the car with a fine tooth comb. Make sure there is someone guarding Vasilis house till I get back," worry was etched into my face by the obvious frown on my forehead.

"Will do. I'll call you back in case anything comes up," John was honestly one of the best so I knew he would do everything I had listed to him with precision.

"Thanks John," after that we said our goodbyes and I quickly responded to emails. It shocked me that someone would deliberately look for Vasili. For a minute I worried maybe it were  paparazzi, but no one would go that far to go onto company property just to take a picture of him. There was a possibility of a crazy fan that knew he was working with me, but the chances were low. We kept that under-rap since it was business.

Worry had riddled me so deeply that I decided to leave and go straight to his bedroom. I knew that nothing could happen to him on the yacht since two other boats were following us filled with our guards and the crew was hand selected so that I knew every single face on board. Yet something did not feel right about this situation. I felt it in my gut that something was not adding up.

When I entered his bedroom I found him walking out of his bathroom tiredly rubbing his face. "Where did you run off to?" He smiled.

"I had a work call," I tried to smile as well, but it fell slightly flat.

"Is everything alright? Did I fart in my sleep? If I did it was not my fault. Alcohol makes me slightly gassy," he warned me.

I could not help, but chuckle at him. "No you did not. It was just a stressful call that's all, but it's been sorted."

"Good. Can we go eat I'm starving?" I was glad he was back to his normal self again. When Susan, one of the maids told me she heard that Vasili was sick I ran out of my room faster than an Olympic star.

"Sure. I'm sure everyone else is up," I smiled and reached my hand out for him to take.

"You've become such a sap," he rolled his eyes, but put his hand in mine anyway.

I wrapped my arm around his waist and looked down at him. He was absolutely breathtaking without even trying. He was in an oversized hoodie and sweatpants whilst his hair was facing everything possible direction yet his beauty was undeniable. I had never met anyone like him. "I can't help it," I grinned and brushed my nose against his.

"Well I like it," his voice was soft, but still stern. His Russian accent always made him sound a bit rude if you did not know him, but being around him for nearly three months taught me to trust his facial expressions over his words.

"Then I will continue being a sap."

"Mmm Mr. Coleman I would have never guessed you were a romantic," our lips were probably millimeters apart as he placed his hand behind my neck.

"You don't seem to be one. How unfortunate," I faked disappointment.

"For you I can be anything," he practically purred causing my heart to flutter.

"Prove it," I teased gently patting his arse. He gently pressed his lips to mine and kissed me with so much passion it had my head spinning.

Just as soon as it started he ended it and kissed my cheek, "come on let's go eat I'm starving," he evilly grinned.

"Tease," I rolled my eyes definitely disappointed it did not carry on for longer. He simply laughed and we walked out of the room to the dining room. It was late afternoon and since we had all skipped lunch I was not surprised to find everyone around the dining table. Let me just say everyone looked like utter shit. Arsenio still looked like he was about to pass out, Sasha was holding his head from a massive hangover, Marco was pale and had dark circles under his eyes, Leonardo's shirt was the way wrong on and Pablo looked like a tomato; he often was very flushed after drinking too much.

"I feel like I was thrown in a volcano then brought back to life only to be hit by an airplane," Marco groaned as he took a sip of his wine. I thought we had agreed to not consume anymore alcohol for another two days, but mysteriously we were all enjoying a glass as we ate our dinner.

"I feel like I could sleep for another day. Edward please tell me you brought masseuse because I definitely need a massage," Arsenio sighed stretching his arms and unfortunately hitting Sasha in the face.

"Yes the spa is ready to use at anytime," I confirmed.

"We should have a spa day tomorrow. Get manicures and pedicures. The whole shebang like the ladies are doing in Paris," Leonardo clapped his hands excitedly.

"For once that is a very good idea," Sasha nodded.

"I'll let the crew know then they can prepare," I nodded and called Daniel who was in charge of the spa.

After dinner we all went to the upper deck and watched the sunset. Somehow Vasili ended up cuddled into my side with my arm wrapped around his since it was slightly chilly. No one questioned it since Sasha was literally doing the same with Leonardo and Pablo with Arsenio. Marco had went in to talk to Amanda since she demanded that they talked everyday for an hour. He complained about it, but when her face lit up the screen for their FaceTime hour, he wore the biggest smile on his face. I would have never guessed that he would have gotten married to my sister and finally settled down.

"So when are we going to watch the footage?" Arsenio asked.

"Oh do we have to?" Vasili groaned hiding his face in my chest.

"Yes! I want to know how you ended up with chocolate on your chest and how Marco got stuck in the water slide," Arsenio laughed.

"You seem way too happy about this," Vasili glared.

"Arsenio has a sick sense of humor," I whispered into his ear which earned a cute chuckle from him.

"What did you say!" Arsenio said sitting up to fake attack me.

"He said you a very good attorney and I should trust you," Vasili lied easily.

"Wise words Edward. Wise words," Arsenio smirked relaxing back into the couch. If he won district attorney elections I knew Los Angeles would be in safe hands, but when it came to his own personal life. I was surprised he was still alive at this rate. When Arsenio partied. He made sure he partied.

During nine p.m we all headed off to bed. Except Vasili and I. We seemed too preoccupied on my bed, with having our lips connected to notice. "I feel like a teenager," Vasili laughed as I fell to his side as we both breathed heavily.

"I would do anything to feel like a teenager again," I chuckled as he rested his head on my shoulder.

"They were probably the worst years of my life. I would never go back there," he sighed with a small smile on his face.

"Why not?" I secretly got a bit excited with the tiny bit of information from Vasilis past. He barely shared anything and even the smallest clue of his life would be great.

"My father sent me to New York when I was thirteen because he was too ashamed to have me as a son," he smiled sadly. And there I was thinking he had a school bully or something. "Not what you were expecting?"

"Not at all. I'm so sorry Vasili," and I use to complain that my father would not let me take a vacation with my friends. "Why would he do that?"

"I'm not ready to talk about it just as yet, but it was my fault," he sighed and hid his face away from mine.

"I don't think at that age anything you could ever do would result in such a drastic move. Don't blame yourself Vasili," I combed his hair away from his face with my fingers and tilted his head up so he could look at me.

"I should probably go to my my room. It's getting late," he immediately looked away once again.

"Spend the night," I kissed his forehead hoping it would pursued him.

"Ed, what if someone comes in?" He blushed and smiled ever so slightly.

"That's why they made doors with locks," I teased. "So is that a yes?"

"Yeah," he breathed and planted a kiss on my lips. Happily I jumped out of the bed which earned a laugh from Vasili and locked the door. Why did we not lock the door beforehand? We were occupied... with our lips... and hands. Within minutes we were cuddled up in the the bed and fell asleep with our arms wrapped around each other.

Although everything seemed to be all well and good. During the night I was jolted awake when I felt Vasili jump up. I frantically held him as he seemed to still be asleep. He was having a nightmare and I desperately tried to wake him up. When I finally did get him up I did not expect him to break down and cry. I could not help, but blame myself. Maybe I had triggered something when I mentioned his father since he barely mentioned his parents who had unfortunately died a year ago.

After what felt like an hour he had finally calmed down enough for us to go back to sleep. I felt a pit in my stomach as I realized Vasilis trauma was far deeper than what he portrayed it too be.
