Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Then she saw Dhaniya coming from afar. She came and touched Amma's feet and said,

"Bring me Amma, let me bake bread for you."

Amma gave him a sweet rebuke and said,

"How long will you continue to serve me? One day you too will go to your in-laws' house and I will be left alone.

Taking Dhaniya in both her hands, Amma said,

"Amma, I'm not going anywhere. I will always be with you."

Saying this she went inside the hut and brought flour in the parat(large saucer) to make rotis for Amma.

Then Amma said,

"Dhaniya today will not work with so much flour."

Dhaniya smiled and laughed. He had not seen the young man. and said,

"Amma, do you intend to eat eight or ten rotis today?"

"Na Ri, he is a young man sitting on a cot, he will also eat food."

Dhaniya looked around and saw a Sudarshan-like young man on the cot under the tree was listening to old Amma and her words very carefully. Dhaniya bowed hesitantly to the young man and went inside to get the flour.

Old Amma sat beside the young man. Coming and kneading the Dhaniya dough started thinking something.

When the young man asked Amma about Dhaniya, Amma told that

"She comes from a nearby village 5 miles away and takes care of him. She is a good girl. The parents are very poor. If you find a good boy, your hands will turn yellow."

Then Dhaniya brought the food. She had served two plates. Old Amma and young man started eating food. The food was really delicious.

After finishing the work, Dhaniya went towards her village.

The young man also sought permission from old Amma to leave and went towards his destination.

After going some distance, he took out the flute from his bundle and started playing it while walking.

Hearing the tune of the flute, old Amma's heart started stirring. She became bawri-like. Leaving the fear of public shame, she started walking in the direction of the flute. Due to old age, she could not walk fast.

The melody of the flute was fading away. Old Amma became tired of fatigue. Her feet were bleeding while walking.
