Chapter 6
"I can't help it. You always have a way of attracting me to you like a magnet " He replied nonchalantly.
Adolpha wasn't so surprised by Connor's behavior because she had a lot of human guys fall head over heels for her while she was in college.
One of them was even crazy enough to leave the student residence where he stayed in the school to rent an apartment off campus close to where she worked at a coffee shop. His name was Jason she remembered he was a school year above her but he didn't seem to care. He would visit the shop daily pretending to buy a coffee and offer to walk her home after her shift ends.
She worked in the coffee shop during school break in order to earn some money before resumption and also after school hours just to help in getting the materials she needed for class.
She had earlier moved in with a friend's family who lived close to her school because she couldn't afford renting an apartment or paying for the school hostel so she had to take up a part time job to help both herself and the family as well.

She moved close to Connor a little almost whispering then she asked " You said you felt I was in danger earlier right?"
" How else would I have come?. I wasn't lying when I told you I had the mate feeling" He replied.
Adolpha didnt know whether to believe what he said or not " If he is truly saying the truth then does that mean something is wrong with me?" She wondered.
Connor wondered if Adolpha was pretending about not feeling anything just so as to turn him down probably because she was in love with someone else.
When he recalled what happened to him before he saved her,he was glad he heeded to the feeling.
He was driving to work when he suddenly felt an excruciating pain in his chest. It was as if his heart was tied by strings and were being pulled on both ends, thereby squeezing the heart. He started sweating and suddenly like a trance Adolpha's image flashed in his memory and as soon as he saw that,he became extremely scared for a reason unknown to him.
He felt like he was compelled to go somewhere although he didn't know where but her kept on driving,the pain however prevented him from breathing well as he drove but he didn't stop. He took his phone and asked his secretary to send Adolpha's mobile number to him. He called her several times but she didn't answer the call, he then became worried.
He noticed that as soon as he got closer to her neighborhood,the pain reduced until he finally got to her by tracking her smell only to find her with Luther.
He jerked back to reality as the bus announced their destination.
They alighted from the bus. Connor was glad he wasn't identified as the CEO of 'just you perfumery' so he escaped a lot of fans drama. He had perfectly concealed his identity for years, only his business partners and a few staff recognized him. Adolpha was lucky enough to see him on the day of the interview because his decision was needed in choosing a suitable person for that position. Adolpha walked behind Connor into the company giving much distance from him as possible so as to avoid gossiping among the staffs.
She was led to her office,she felt like she was dreaming. Never could she have imagined that she'll have such beautiful office.
She tried to imagine how happy her mother would be to see her office, she giggled in excitement at the thought of it.

Lupita got to her place of work that morning then her boss dropped a bomb on her. The couple she was working for would be going to Africa for mission work the next month.
The madam told her as soon as she got to work, she kept thinking of how she would cater for her family if she had no work although the couple were kind enough to give her a huge goodbye bonus aside her monthly salary still it would be enough to provide for the family. She was to stop coming to work the next week.
When she was done with work for the day,she decided to stop by a bar to have a drink with her friends from work . She didn't want to get drunk by taking more than she can handle so she requested for just a few shots of alcohol,the last time she got drunk she almost spilled out her secret.
The other workers were talking about their search to get another job already.
She decided to start looking for one as well, she would ask her friends in the neighborhood for help.
She left the bar sometimes later and head home. When she got home,she told Adolpha that she lost her job.
" I have no idea how we would pay the rent and other debts if I don't get a new job" She told Adolpha in an extremely worried tone.
" I was going to tell you to stop the work anyway, now I have a job so I will handle all those. Mum you should have seen the my office,it's like one of those offices you watch on tv dramas"
Lupita was elated about her daughter's job and her joy tripled when Adolpha showed her the pictures of her office. She was rest assured that they wouldn't have to go back to the streets begging.
She promised Adolpha she wouldn't go around looking for a job anymore.
As soon as Lupita left Adolpha's room to retire for bed,she got a call from one of her friends
"Hello Lupita,I just got you a job. I heard a family was in search of a competent cook and I applied on your behalf"
" Oh Angie I already promised Adolpha I won't get another job" She replied
" Are you sure you want to do this?,I know how happy you are whenever you cook also I heard they would be paying you a thousand dollar per month. Isn't that such a crazy offer?"
Lupita couldn't believe her ears,she immediately accepted the offer forgetting her promise to Adolpha.
" I'm sorry Adolpha but we need this"
