Chapter 9
Lupita asked Mama Orfilia if there was a way for Adolpha to avert her destiny.
" Our ancestors said that those that ran away from the responsibility were tagged cowards along with their generation. They see those chosen by the great white wolf as their leaders after the king so they put so much faith in them. Disappointing them means disappointing the entire tribe".
Lupita was at ease for a moment,what she feared wasn't mentioned so she was good with it,she initially thought anyone who declines would die but that wasn't the case.
"It's all fine as long as no one knows she has been chosen " She said putting Adolpha at peace.
"What if the tribe mother has seen this or predicted the future? What if she already told the rest of the tribe who I am" Adolpha asked and this made Lupita restless once again.
She told Adolpha they wouldn't be able to find her because they don't know what part of the world she's in and also she had the predictions given by the tribe mother is like a puzzle which must be put together properly before it becomes meaningful . Even if they were to get the country and the city they wouldn't still be able to find her because they would have to search the whole city in order to do that .
Also it's very possible that no one recognize Adolpha since it had been so long.
Lupita and Adolpha thanked Mama Orfilia and announced their departure.
" I'll be awaiting your visit some other time dolpha". Mama Orfilia secretly wished Adolpha would meet her grandson on day,she would be happy to have Adolpha as her daughter-in-law if he ends up being her mate.
Lupita and Adolpha left the mansion, Adolpha wished she could live in a house as beautiful as that,the house is the only one in the environment which was covered completely with tall forest trees,one could have thought there was a game reserve there. The surrounding mimicking one that every werewolf would love to hunt in or one they probably originated from.
" Which tribe is Mama Orfilia from mum?"
" I don't know but she doesn't seem to be from the sovereign tribe she's probably from one of those that lived in isolation "
Adolpha then recalled that she doesn't even know the tribe Connor came from,he definitely doesn't feel like someone from the sovereign tribe as well . She wondered if she should tell her mother about Connor,maybe she would know what to do.
She decided to tell her mother as soon as they get home.

In the farthest corner of the city, there was a cave where vampires hide after causing havoc in the city, they go there after either stealing people's things or molesting poor girls . They refrain as much as possible from killing humans anyhow. It was an agreement between the vamps in the city to bury anyone they kill so that their existence won't be brought into the knowledge of the people.
That has been how they were able to live in the city without human knowledge. There were several cases of missing people whose disappearance couldn't be traced to either kidnapping or murder this was because the vamps know the spots where CCTVs are placed and would ensure they destroyed them before pouncing on their prey.
Luther and his three other friends Daren, Amber and Scott met at the cave as usual. That had been their secret meeting point as well ever since they were little when they all migrated to the city. They would meet there to plan their stealing operations and how they would deal with their enemies .
Amber was an announcer on a popular broadcasting station. She had long licorice black hair and beautiful brown eyes, Daren was an electrical engineer, the ladies in the firm he works for are all swayed by his charm,
Scott was the business man amongst them and the plumpy one,he his known to be the vamp that gets whatever he wants at any cost.
Luther the leader of the group was fair skinned,one almost as white as snow with fairly long smooth hair,he has this daredevil demeanor which made other vamps around fear him. He's the ladies guy,he used to be a playboy before he met Adolpha.
He worked as the CEO of a big fashion company.
That night meeting was called by Luther,he had his whole head in bandage,apparently he had been unconscious in the hospital owned by one of their kind for days. He kept thinking of how to make Adolpha pay for her insolence.
" How dare she!" He raged pacing to and fro.
" Those bloody beasts,I'm very sure she was helped by her kind. The impact wouldn't have been this much if it were to be human.
"I wonder what made you fall for the girl in the first place, I hated her right from the beginning " Amber said
" Amber is right you know, I told you not to get entangled with those beasts with claws" Scott added as he kept typing on his phone.
Luther wouldn't have any of those he thought of what to do with Adolpha, he doesn't want to hurt her because he was so crazily in love with her. He recalled the day he saw her in the supermarket when she finally finished her degree in college,he knew instantly that she was a werewolf which came to him as a surprise because he had always seen her in the neighborhood ever since they were both little but she didn't seem like a werewolf because she hadn't shape shift then so he couldn't tell she was one.
However she knew he was a vampire so she stayed away from him as much as she could . She paid the cashier and left hurriedly as soon as she saw him. He went after her and since then he had been wooing her.
" I know what to do! Now she wouldn't dream of staying away from me" He said laughing out aloud.
