It is difficult for one to explain what it feels like. To be removed from a powerful presence. Most people find themselves close to someone with great power
But due to most human males not being able to to control their mana would rarely feel anything.
The feeling an individual would have when close to such a man. Would be completely different than when a person interacted with a witch. Within the projectable range area, the effective space that a person can use their mana. Also played the crucial role of being the effective sensory range that a person could feel the world around them.
When someone entered another's range of influence emotions. Generally was what would be received by the one entering. Mana by itself has no affinity toward good or evil only the one using it makes the choice as to how his or her mana is used for good or ill.
"So he is not that far from here, and at an increased elevation. The only place in the wastes like that should be the Frengyrn Peaks to our south-east." [Eldra]
Starring with increased interest toward the suposed location that lanthim was currently, preparing to bed down for the night. The winds at night would make try to catch the boy increasingly difficult.
"Do you think Lanthim is purposely making his presence, even more, unbearable than when we first arrived here?"
One of his companions from the capital began to complain as he had done for the last hour before the last storm blow through. Soon after the almost on queue lanthim's presence would shift to something darker and unnerving. While Eldra and his group hated their current situation Milty seemed like she was right at home. Sitting with her familiar in front of a small fire with a small booklet in hand.
"Do these changes in your masters presence not cause you? Any discomfort or concern Milty trigel?" [Dethlyma]
The elf lady while more interested in her own well being looked to Milty who seemed a little too comfortable while the rest of them suffered.
"If you want to know the truth I feel more at ease. Being in the young master's presence, having served his family for as long. As I have grown used to the immensity of that presence." [Milty]
Both women looked at each other, one who could not believe what she heard, the other contently returned to reading her book.
"Teilquin we must plan for the morning it is likely that we will have a fight on out hands." [Eldra]
Calling to another elf in their group eldra beckoned Teilquin to follow him away from the rest of the group.
"You have the Craltravis Lintma with you correct?" [Eldra]
Stopping almost half a mile away from the others both men looked at each other with increased seriousness.
"I don't see shy we must worry. Placing this thing on the boys head will be a simple task." [Teilquin]
With a cruel smile on his face, the elf pulled from his pack a small carrying case. Inside one would likely find jewelry or something like that, however, the item that was prepared here had a horrific beauty to it. The item was called Craltavis Lintma its use was simple, place on chosen targets head activate and watch as the seal runs its course.
"The moment the boy sees this you will likely become a target, from what I sense he is likely to fight us with everything he has." [Eldra]
Having to use such methods to secure a child was something that eldra considered excessive. Even if the child fought them it was unlikely he would be able to prevail in the end.
"I have other instructions if we are unable to secure Lanthim so if sealing him does not work leave the rest to me." [Teilquin]
Placing his hand on the sword on his side the elf seemed confident that bring the boy home alive or not was not going to be that difficult. Thinking back to before he had left from the capital eldra remembered something the Mynrea had told him.
"If you feel that your life is in danger flee immediately."
She had stressed the need to run if things went wrong however now that he was here he began to realize why.
The morning sun shone with increased fury with the smell of salt as always filling Lanthim's nose as he tried to breathe. Looking about himself he had remembered climbing into the cave he currently inhabited for shelter from the cold.
'Another morning of sun and salt how wondeful.'
Climbing out of the cave Lanthim surveyed the area around where he was something seemed different this morning before he had fallen asleep the night before there had been eight people within his sensory range. However now it seemed on was not with the rest.
"Good morning Lanthim Frenost I hope you slept well."
A voice that lanthim did not know came from a flat area just outside of the cave. Observing this individual who seemed to have traveled a great distance quickly.
"It is too early in the morning for a battle don't trouble me." [Lanthim]
Showing absolutely no interest in this person, Lanthim heaved himself out of the cave. Brushing the salt off his clothes, lanthim looked at his uninvited guest hoping he would just leave.
"My name is Eldra Nyrotral I was promised an opponent that could best me. It was only for this reason that I am here, returning you home is only a side job now let us begin." [Eldra]
Drawing his sword the dragon stood before Lanthim with a deadly gleam in his eye. Both looked at each other for a moment the boy seemed bored like he had been told to do something tedious. Neither moved from their respective position both waiting for the other to strike first.
Time was lanthim's enemy the longer he fought an enemy the greater chance that he would run out of mana and be unable to continue the fight at a crucial point. Eldra did not have this problem being armed with information about the boy's lack of mana he could drag out the fight.
"I hope you will not hold back though will make things, even more, tedious." [Lanthim]
Activating a transfer sequence he now held a short sword of his own. Antisapating an attack eldra moved into an appropriate stance to intercept the attack.
'If he comes at me head on then I will need to hold back so to not kill him.'
Feel like his mother's words were likely just word eldra prepared to crush the child quickly. Suddenly though when he felt secure the boy disappeared only to appear behind.
'Incredible such speed.'
The shock not only of the swift movement that lanthim had made but the fluidity of the entire action was apparent. Moving his blade to intercept the boy before he could move again all eldra could do was swing at the open air. Looking for where lanthim would appear eldra moved into a more offensive stance.
'He will run out of mana soon if he keeps this up all I have to do is strike him down the next time.'
Hoping for a quick strike eldra prepared himself for the next action. From above came Lanthim his blade gleaming in the sun. Both combatants blades met with a might clank of steel. The blow seemed rather heavy to have come from such a small person.
As eldra readjusted his stance throwing lanthim into the air the boy seemed to push himself downwards using mana to quickly advance towards the ground once his left foot made contact he immediately kicked off launching himself at a high rate of speed directly at his opponent.
Not being surprised eldra held his ground prepared for the next pass, however, this time, something was different about lanthim. The boys appearance had changed in what why eldra could not tell because when they met, this time, it was the dragon, not the boy that was sent hurtling through the air crashing through the side of the great peek.
Hit with such force eldra ended up crashing through the other side of the mountain itself. Feeling slightly numb by the strike he had just received he did not notice lanthim coming in from above him. Again a dangerously heavy blow was delivered unable to stop himself eldra was launched into the salt flats over six thousand feet below.
'There is no way I am fighting a six-year-old boy here his strikes are impossible to predict he fights like he has been on a battlefield before.'
Swiftly rolling off his back eldra suddenly received lanthim's next series of strikes each meticulously calculated to land at a specific place as the strike sequence pummeled his opponents defenses.
'I hope Teilquin is ready I will not be able to hold this off for much long this child just keeps going he has to run out of mana soon.'
Even with a smile on his face, eldra felt pressured by this human boy never had he been so pressed by an opponent to the point he actually thought he might be defeated. Suddenly Lanthim's attack ceased with the boy stepping off from his last strike sending eldra back almost sixty feet.
"I have never had to use all five of my regalia in a fight before I thank you for a good match."
The smile on Lanthim's face made eldra also beam a massive smile both were enjoying themselves to the max however ther were others who had been waiting for lanthim to stop due to lack of mana.
Appearing almost out of nothing teilquin appeared behind Lanthim with the seal prepared.
'So this is all you can do.'
He thought to himself slowly lowering the seal to place it on lanthim's head. Everything had gone according to plan Eldra would confront the boy while teilquin waited to place the seal. Seeing this victory so close he could not understand why.
Just as he was about to place the Craltravis Limta on the child's head that the boy suddenly disappeared. Teilquin looked to his right, lanthim just stood there with a smile on his face. The sudden feeling that something was wrong filled the elf with horror.
Dropping the head ornament on the ground with frightened haste teilquin examed his body in search of the abnormality he knew was there. Leaning backward slightly a severe pain was felt in his legs. When he realized what was happening the elf let out a blood-curdling scream.
Eldra stood watching what had happened transpire feeling himself be in great danger if he was now to try and attack. Looking at his counterpart who now was wailing in pain eldra could not believe his eye. The boy had severed his own brothers legs from just above the knee.
Waving his hand towards the screaming teilquin, it was as if he was not present at all no sound could be heard coming from him.
"I will not return with you Eldra Nyrotral I will leave a message for you to give to my grandmother in exchange for a good fight when I return. Tell her that I will not spare the next one." [Lanthim]
Finishing with that the boy disapeared from eldra's sight with only his presence remaining. Falling to his knees completely exausted he could feel the others arriving quickly.
Help would arrivie for them both soon, feeling for his left arm he felt just how total the childs victory was for in front of him on the ground lay his left arm cut off in the same time as teilquins legs.
'What a pleasure it will be to meet you again Lanthim Frenost.' {Eldra}
